I saw tiger play numerous times. His golf shots are amazing even at the pro level. There is a calm about him that bursts out to pure power and even a form of rage when you hear him rip the ball. Pretty amazing.
I practice this everyday and I swear it has helped my ball striking and relationship with the club immensely. Can do between the legs easily but going opposite hands and behind both legs I can’t manage yet but I’m working on it.
Never though about it like that. I can do everything but the opposite hand and when he scoops it down in mid air. And then I can only hit it out of the air like 2 times out of 10 lol
My golf coach in high school would see us try this and would always tell us, "If you have time to practice that, you have time to practice your swing." I should have practiced both, as now I'm not very good at either.
When I was growing up, I played all the time at Heartwell with friends. It was 10 minutes from my house on our bikes. I can remember a lot of buzz about some young kid who was a phenom from the people who worked there. The guy giving lessons pointed him out one day ... but being 8 years older than Tiger was, and of course not knowing who he'd become, we didn't care. We were just there to hack around when we weren't skateboarding or BMX racing. Tiger was right about 3 groups on every hole sometimes. I still go to the range there from time to time
@@conradbarrett6... He didn't play Navy until he he got big enough to play the course. His first course was Heartwell. It's a short par 3 course. Many of the holes are barely 100 yards, and about 4 of them are 70-80 yards. He played Cypress a bunch too growing up

I will hold you to that statement, when charlie is about 25, like Tiger is in this video. What gets me is how baggy the clothes were some 20 years ago.
I saw him do this in Toronto at a golf demonstration on The Toronto Islands. Unbelievable!! Tiger forgot his gold shoes and did the whole demonstration in dress shoes still doing all the skills to a tee including hitting the ball over 300 yards IN DRESS SHOES!! As I said, Unbelievable!!!
Tiger is a legend, who was on top of the mountain, went thru adversity and health problems and walked away to get his life in order and like the true champion he is, finished 2nd at the PGA Championship in 2018, in front of 1000’s of cheering fans in my hometown in St. Louis and then win the 2019 Masters!!!
I still go back and watch that final round. Zeroed in on the flags and birdie on the last hole. A lip out on par 3 and par on the par 5 kept St Louis from going crazy. Beautiful to see and THEN grabbed green jacket #5.
i learned how to do this as a kid back in the late 90's since i literally lived at the golf course from sun up to sun down just so i could play all day. i saw a friend doing it and so i wanted to do it. not sure where he got it from but i wouldn't doubt it was one of tigers videos.
I remember the Nike commercial where he did this from around the same time. It was all any of us could talk about for weeks after it came out...just incredible.
I was a club pro in my 20s and had a lot of free time in a pro shop on slow days, so taught myself all that juggle stuff. It's actually not as hard as it looks after you get the rhythm. It never ceases to impress people though.
It's funny I used to think that video was fake back in the day lol. "No way anyone could do that in real life, definitely CGI." It does make me wonder if he still has that level of coordination?
Just can do it with my right hand and when I go between the legs can’t do more than one yet. Maybe someday, dunno. Someone told me to practice the swing with the left hand, dont know how could that help but I believe being in contact with the club everyday is only benefitial for my progress.
@gm__golf have you seen this? Surely you got to show how many takes it would be to do this...great to see given Tiger does this live and is prob around your age here
Yep this was Tiger at his peak. Had won the US, PGA and British Open already that year and would soon hold all four simultaneously( the tiger slam) the following April at Augusta. Won the U. S. Open by like 15 strokes at Pebble Beach. Won 6 consecutive tournaments that year.
Reminds of the epic commercial he did back then too, *SMASH* ... "You said try and hit the camera!" Tiger hit a pro camera worth $30,000 from 60 yards out with a punch shot which was thought by the producer to go over the camera, but Tiger just hit it instead.
This oddly kinda reminds me of tricks we do in the kitchen for fun sometimes. The part where he throws it up in the air and catches it, I can do that with an egg and spatula lol.
This really show his connectivity to his club. True master indeed!
