    Three of us are in a 2BR apartment. I have a small bookcase with a bunch of plastic shoeboxes. One box for paper crafting, one for beading, one for sewing,paints,etc. These
    are basically tools. Top shelf in my closet are skeins of yarn, fabrics, and l2x12 scrapbook paper, and ribbon, again in plastic boxes. Tina, Al's wife

    "Use what you have". Boy, I wish I had heard that advice years ago. Can't tell you how much product died before I even thought about using it. Even had some very expensive things just disappear completely (full jars became empty - not a trace left!). What on earth was I saving it for? My new craft room will have more things on display so that I will remember to use them. Thanks for the video! 😊

      I did it too Beth! I thought I was "saving" things for a better project and then it went poof! I know USE all the things and enjoy the process. 🩷 Thanks so much for crafting with me and Merry Christmas!

    A cart is an awesome idea. I have the one from ikea, raskog. I have used every side of it! I zip tied a black cookie sheet to right side of it and looped hoops through the grates to hang my paints. I use magnetic hoops on the left side. I use the hang on plastic baskets for the front and back. Love it! Best tip to give!

      Love your ideas for storage! Yes, use all the edges. 💕 Thanks so much for sharing and happy crafting!

    Thank you for such an inspiring video!
    And for the truths no one usually talks about:
    - sun bleaching out colours
    - time ruining the supplies you don't use in time
    So, thank you 💖
    Also, your smile is so lovely ☺️

    ❤❤❤I just got a super small craft room so this is great! I make wreaths, DIY crafts, and paint. I have a ton of Ribbon and Deco Mesh and need to see what I have available so I don't lose it and think I don't have a particular color, so go buy more! Any suggestions!?!?

    • @KimByers
      @KimByers  10 месяцев назад

      Hey Deanna! I have so been there. I've been crafting for 20 years and I started at the kitchen table so supplies were literally just squished in bags. It was terrible and I absolutely bought more than I needed. 😳 One of the things that really helped me with my ribbon were those clear stackable plastic boxes so that I could see everything, or if you want a cleaner look, white stackable boxes (like 5" thick) but organized by color so you can just pop the lid. Caution though, if you get them at craft stores they can get a bit pricey, so I would stalk Dollar Tree, Walmart and similar stores. OR, wait until you have a coupon. 🩷 Thank you so much for crafting and organizing with me! Have a lovely day!

    Hi, I have a kitchen island cart with 2 draws and a cupboard, it's perfect to keep things dust free and the right hight if I want to stand and craft

      My mom used to have a small white one that we crafted at all the time. And the kids loved it because they could pull up stools. 💕 Thanks for organizing with me Tracey!

    Love it!! And it’s so funny you
    say that, I have the same problem. I hoard my craft supplies and
    I’m
    Like scared to use it and run out!

      It's such a problem! 🤣 My mom will do it with fabric too. She'll "save" a specific pattern for something better. But there is no better time than to use those craft supplies before they ... expire. 😀 Thanks so much for crafting with me!

      Thanks so much for organizing with me Lisa! 💕 The carts are super handy and the wheels make it so much easier. Almost everything I have is on wheels, either purchased that way or I bought casters from the hardware store and drilled them in! 😂

      I found my cart at a yard sale for $10. Also found Ikea cups to hang on it at Goodwill. Was happy not to have to put it together. 🙂

    Seems like a sales commercial. How do the stores vinyl not fade while on display ? Love your other videos!

    • @KimByers
      @KimByers  Год назад

      Hey Debbie! Vinyl in stores isn't there very long (and before that it's in boxes and in storage after printing) and it's typically not in direct sunlight. That said, some of it does fade if it stays on the shelves too long in the florescent lights. I've purchased it before not realizing until I got it home and then had to return it. If you notice many of the brands have now gone to boxes instead of cello wrapping, including Cricut, because they were loosing product. All of the new materials are in boxes. My craft room has two large windows so I personally just don't risk it and I thought I would share in case others didn't realize. 💕
      As for the commercial vibe, it is and it's not. These are truly 9 ORGANIZATION TIPS that I use in my own studio. Is there a product placement, yes. 😀 Making videos isn't a cheap process and it is very time consuming. I love it, but I also need to feed the family. 🤣 Thanks so much for crafting with me and I hope you'll join me for my card making series if you're into paper crafting! ruclips.net/video/9i2-hemJqSc/видео.htmlsi=CT9bt3GnwNI2CqnH

    To cover the vinyl from light damage put a pretty cloth cover over it - or - on the cheap side - not as pretty - a black plastic trash bag.

    I ONLY use furniture on wheels in my art space[s]. Carts, dressers, tables, whatever - must have wheels/casters. But not your cart. I prefer a cart of ALL drawers, with places to hang hooks and stuff. Your cart has too many different areas/functions. This video would have been better if you showed examples of your ideas.
