Budget was so low they couldn't afford to animate blood coming out of the Bugs. Hence you never see any of the Bugs get shot up and die
yea after see this part the rumor was true that they rush this movie out and the second one and that why the first movie CGI so good

Oh i´ve seen it.. and i did actually enjoy it
The part where Rico rallies the troops into line formation is brilliant. The arachnids are more confined and are limited to lines of two while the humans can march forward with firing lines of 5-6 soldiers and press forward using the trenches to their advantage in the battle.
It's a rather simple equation so many fuck up or overcomplicate. Have more guns aimed at the enemy than they have at you (or pinchers, jaws, or whatever). Melee units can only attack with the row closest to the enemy while everyone else pushes in from the back. Human ranged units are smaller, and can fit more firepower in a tighter area, and they ALL get to play if you arrange them right...which Rico did :) No bullshit plot armor here. Just superior tactics, manliness, and a set of cast iron balls.

Well, the bugs were also kind enough not to jump on them from the side trenches and/or from above.
@@GiacomoSorbi no he had troops on the top of the trenches covering his flanks line a pro and they all moved up together using firepower and mass fire to clear the bugs out.
@@josephburge168 yep, and the feds still blamed rico for the attack but he was the one that fought back and saved the place
not as good as first movie obviously but this one had its moment. the minute rico comes in he just DOMINATES
he has enough field experiences to do what must be done :)
I hate people like the General. People who are always by the book and that's how they got their rank. People like that never know how to adapt and fight. Like, "let's arrest the most valuable officer on the ground and prevent him from doing his job IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUG ATTACK" Rico is clearly the better leader and knows how to properly lead, not push paperwork until you check off all the boxes to get your promotion
and those type General get their man killed and he was the worse by trying arrest RICO when Rico it literally lead his soldiers out and I remember correct Rico he about protect his soldier under his command while this jackass was about the mission didn't care how many people get killed
Shame he didn't die in this scene, the most unlikeable character in this movie yet the film makers thought the audience would root for him hence why he made it at the end.
general?wasnt general kinda "friend"of Rico and Lola? AFAIK he did get Rico into marauder program. but if you think about skymarshal... yeah, he deserved the fate that got him .

I’m pretty sure the General was supposed to be satire on incompetent military leadership that only good where they are due to nepotism and knowing the right people.
I honestly still prefer the first movie over the two sequels

Who wouldn’t
The 2nd movie had a few good action scenes, the Control Bugs and Dax...that's it. The third movie is even worse since the action scenes are pretty cardboard. The only good thing the 3rd movie had going was the badass Marauders and they only show up at the end.
Different production budgets. The first one was made for theater while the sequels were all straight to dvd.

That's because it had an actual budget, whereas the sequels were made with whatever loose change the studio could find in the couch cushions...

While the movie isn't a success, I'm glad they put a lot of the awesome things like Pulse Rifles and mechs in the game.
With all the tech human can't make a decent round to one shot kill the arachnids
i think a bullet like that does exist but would cost 2 much to make, best their may be is armor piercing rounds that explode once inside the target's body, but they can maybe do is armor peircing rounds that fragment inside the target. but yeah why only boots on the ground and not vehicles and such?
And the bugs evolve too
With the bugs, i think the problem is that they have dispersed organ structure - you can blow huge chunks off them and they survive just fine. Maybe the weapons from deadspace would work well, more slicing type than piercing.
The bugs went from 1080p in the first movie to 480p in this one. Wth.
Was done watching the moment I first saw those effects.

The weapon just won big but it's still old fashioned and produces ordinary bullets, it should be laser or large caliber bullets, the era is modern but it still uses bullets
What’s the point of that armor!?!? It does nothing to protect the troopers from being stabbed, impaled, ripped apart, and cut to pieces!!!
Out of universe reason is because they want the federation to appear stupid and poorly equipped. the inuniverse reason, my guess is the armour is more general purpose, designed initially with the premise of fighting dissidents and other humans who might rebel against the federation. When the bug war began, the federation was largely learning as it fought the bugs, trying to develop new weapons and gear to help grant them an edge. However because the bugs own potent natural weapons and abilities, the general armour proves incredibly ineffective. The marauder and later powered armour were meant as a means to provide a solid amount of protection and offense to help counteract the bugs and get them ahead. Until then, the federation was needing to rely on just skilled mobile infantrymen and the weapons they had already, with new tech being developed to help attempt to give edges where they can. Tech that is slowly moved towards mass production but does not neccesarily move quickly. The presence of bug mind control and brainbugs also delays the process as the bugs learning about federation plans and especially weaknesses that can be exploited could spell disaster to such efforts. The bugs are not animals...they are an overtly hostile species that wants to destroy humanity and the human species...period. federation has to play offense mainly because the bugs lobbing a asteroid that destroyed at a human city on earth does mean that the humans cannot exactly hang back and stay defensive. Humans need to attack because not doing so means another rock slamming into earth.
The armor actually does protect a bit against shrapnel and debris.
Their guns are so big lmao.

I thought they be shooting lasers instead of bullets in the future.
You do not need troops exposed like that. You need man jacks from Aliens or CROWS from the Humvee and Abrams.
The CGI movies finally correct that and lean more toward them having the armored suits they did in the books. I treat these first three movies as them getting their butts kicked several ways before figuring out that they need to give their soldiers something more to properly stand a chance against the bugs. Given what we see, it does follow their battle doctrine takes time to "fully" catch up with reality, their kit at first being made for fighting insurrections and insurgents...human enemies, not bugs. We also see the foreshadowing of the upper brass's growing and disturbing fascination with what the upper echelons of the bug hierarchy can do, which is explored in the CGI sequels with attempts to harness them.
The biggest flaw this sequel has compared to the first movie is not its much lower production value but that it takes itself way too seriously.

see how bad the CGI yea the rumor are true that this movie and the second movie was rush out the door that why the first Starship troopers cgi it so good and the budge was so low that you don't even see them actually shot the bug, I feel sorry for the actor who play Rico he love this franchises and I wish we get a reboot with him and other cast

the only good thingt hat came out of that movie was the e-pulse rifle as it was a pretty effective weapon against the bugs.
They spent all of the money on the scorpion

they do have gas that is lethal to the bugs and not to effective against humans. they use it in bug holes i believe

Why’d they change the design and bullets of the guns from the first movie to laser guns in sequels
heck if i know the e-pulse rifles where pretty effective against the bugs but i heard the range was not the best unlike bullets.
what they use is morita Mk2/3 if im not mistaken. not sure if its better than first one, but at least they have integrated scope and range finder
The E-pulse guns were good against bugs, but had short range effectiveness and were expensive and time consuming to produce compared to conventional firearms.

The fact that they still use dinky rounds in such big guns is why humanity deserves to lose.
Well once Rico rallied the troops into line formations the M.I and their weapons were much more effective. It's when they run around in utter chaos that they are far less effective in killing the arachnids.
My thoughts are the moritas are mostly old tech that is being kept in service because having they are not able to currently produce better guns that are more effective against the bugs for the conventional soldiers with enough ammunition and in enough numbers quickly enough to make up the difference. Plus, despite being a dinky cartridge, they are still effective against the bugs in some areas. Still, I imagine if all the mobile infantry could be equipped with a suit of powered armour and a man portable microgun or high caliber assault rifle with high penertration power, underslung flamethrower, accurate fire, and a solid fire rate that can chew through the bugs on mass, they probably would. The moritas are the main federation weapon because the director of starship troopers 1 wanted to make the federation really be incompetent and evil. In the book, the federation are not saints by any means, but their equipment is leagues better than in the film. Powered armour for every trooper and each soldier is armed to the teeth.

A few tanks would have done the job
or small mech walkers and gunships and i'm sure a few apachies would make short work of the bug hordes until hoppers came in.

The set design and everything in this movie was so bad, Couldn't even hire a set designer who could realized you need to be able to see what you're shooting at with a gun torrent to hit anything.
