Unlike most youtuber's SOTC, yours is actually fairly interesting. Most youtubers have the most boring collections, they try to pitch as interesting, but they all have the same Rolex, omega speedmaster, seiko divers blah blah blah that is dull to see.
The one gripe I do have is when you mentioned whether a watch (omega admiralty) is "worthy" of being in the collection. There is no such thing. You either like it or not, watches are things, pieces of metal, leather and ceramic not some kind of elitist club. My watch collection has watches that go from $9 to $7000 and they all "deserve" to be there.

casualsuede Thank you 🙏🏼 I guess I just meant worth of staying due to my own tastes and if I’d wear it. I wasn’t, so I’ve sold it. It’s a fantastic watch. Just didn’t suit me as I’d expected.

I love that so many of your pieces are on leather straps. These days it seems so many people default to steel bands. Don’t get me wrong, steel is great and robust. But there is something so ‘gentlemanly’ about a watch on leather.

Love the video, and the diversity in your collection. Also, I’d be interested in the Polerouter if you get to a point where you’d be willing to sell it. I‘ve been looking for a couple years now to have to wear on my wedding day (which we’ve had to move to next year). I’ve had a tough time tracking any down in that condition so if you’d be willing to part with it, I’m interested.

May I make a suggestion that if you are showing your watches, the colour accuracy is very important. So when your editing has lots of blue tints to the whites and shadows, it makes it very hard to see/enjoy the patina and what your actual watches look like.

Well, don’t start with ebay/unknowns. Buy something from a trusted seller on a forum, or reputable vintage store online. I’m actually selling a few of the vintage Omegas. Made a big acquisition since this collection video (see recent unboxing video lol)

Great collection, refreshing compared to the typical PP, Rolex, AP guys that ALL accumulate the SAME timepieces..

Lovely collection and refreshing to see one that isn't dominated by divers.

Nice to see a proper collection that doesn't include 90% divers and/or GMT watches.

Matt, I loved this! You nailed this video.
I’m not as into the aesthetic of smaller vintages but I will say it was amazing to see such historic and cool pieces.
I love your blue grand seiko
The first nomos I thought looked surprisingly great in the wrist from this video
I just checked out your latest pickup and I was blown away!! That poelrouter looked amaaaazing!!!
I would absolutely love to see more about how you source them and how your whole collection is valued at this time!!
Jess’ watches are super clean and nice too. Love it. You guys are the best
    Cheers!

Thanks a ton! What's your wrist size? The small size might grow on you ;)
The new Polerouter Sub is incredible for sure, definitely one of the flagships of the collection now. I've already sold and am selling a few from this video since picking that one up - honing in on the big boys. Thanks!

@@MattLoberstein well what do you think? you recommend get the GS or saving for a datejust? I think both are beautiful I personally like how the GS heritage looks more than the datejust but then again I haven't had much time interacting with either in person

Modern DJ or vintage? I’d never buy any modern DJ, so GS for sure if modern. If vintage rolex vs modern GS, it’s more of a preference debate than a quality debate

Just a note about your 1601, it's a Mosaic/shuntang dial not a linen one. IMO way better. Made for Japan only market. Cool collection.

@@MattLoberstein check out the history of Shantung Rolex dials on google, it's a pretty cool process of woven fabric on the dial
