@@KoishiVibin It's all about momentum rather than velocity with ceramic composites. You can defeat it with a relatively slow moving tungsten or DU projectile, as long as it has enough mass.
Keep in mind that tungsten weighs considerably more AND is considerably harder, meaning that it stays sharp (not blunt) longer and brings more energy because of it’s higher mass. Think stopping a fast punch Vs quick lead spear

I loaded some 150 grain tungsten core projectiles (New Lenox, I believe) into .300 Win Mag over a stiff charge of IMR7828. I believe it should get over 3300 fps based on some of my chronograph readings.
I do have a serious question in all seriousness. With backface deformation like that, one would probably die from bft wouldn't they? Internal injuries etc... Just wondering

Matt. In all honesty, would you advise/trust your life to Militech's gear? The reason I'm asking is their helmets are shipable to us here in SA. I've been eyeing one of their helmets with a 3A faceshield for a while.

There's always a risk that something might not stop a shot, but some act like the big boys have never been in trouble with a quality issue (Hesco 4400 series for example)

I've tested the 4400 series under the "CATI" private label. the 4401 is just a newer model for that after the 4400 series failed FIT. I am working on trying to get L210 and 3810, but they are very expensive and HESCO doesn't want to work with me. I am trying to work on it though.

IF you want the lightest possible Level IV plate, and may only need it to stop a few rounds, then it will do it's job. Other plates using B4C are quite a bit more expensive. I myself went the RF2 route for a lb more knowing the likelihood of "AP" threats is not great, but repeated M855/M193 shots would be.

with level iv armor, ww2 era steel core ap won't cut it. you need tungsten and im surprised even the 5.56 m995 pierced the armor.

How thick would you say the ceramic was? I know silicon carbide is around 10mm for level IV, but I don't know for boron carbide.

These are Militech's offerings. I should contact UARM and see about a test. Agilite's plates look very HESCO like.
