Hey great video and nice editing. Even after all the plate tests you have done i still cant decide what plates to choose from and still just rock chest rigs.
I can make a broad recommendation if you'd like..
@@BuffRANGE I think it would be a awesome video to see like your top 5 recommendations

Man I have these plates this concerns me a little, but your rounds were over spec.
Yeah if you’re getting shot at by these kind of threats you’ve got much bigger problems than these plates
Better hope you don't face .243, 300win mag, or 50BMG.
I don't worry about every threat. Armor is not a substitute for cover and common sense. Which is my only current response to "threats outside spec."
@@woodsghost9088 well with those rounds, a vest will not be of much substance due to trauma. Broken ribs and a punch to the heart.
@@percisionshot4331 yup
In real SHTF 95% of people will be using AR’s and AK’s anyway which pose zero threat to this anyway. 4% will be using 308. 1% will be using rounds that can defeat your armor.

Thanks for stopping by Mike!
Hey, I just asked for this video haha, awesome! I got my set for $320 on sale.
Nice!!
Would be interested in seeing you test guard dog Ridgeback lv.4+ multicurve have seen some pretty impressive results but none of the testing is equal to yours.
I just asked them again the other day. Let’s see what turns up
I'm probably still gonna go with them just for the fact that they are priced extremely well. I can get a set of plates for the price of one. And the chances of me seeing any threat levels that your sending at the plates are damn near non existent. Just got a new plate carrier so I need to throw something in the quick. Thanks for the great Intel of various plates. Best reviews that I can find.
No edge to edge protection seems real sketchy to me.
Are my RMA 1155"s edge-wrapped with foam?
RMA 1155's have a true edge to edge strike face. The outermost edge of the plate has a very thin foam strip, but that does not extend onto the strikeface of the plate. Here is a video with a tear down at the end: ruclips.net/video/546gBSMc5VQ/видео.html
Great test! I’m still looking for a light weight plate since the ShotStop fiasco.
What level ? What weight constraints?
People sure do love these plates. The poor man's armor. Well. Besides steel.
Steel really isn't that cheap anymore once you add curves, and coatings
@@BuffRANGEwhat's the best steel armor?
Hey Buffman, would you consider testing a AR650 steel plate with the current US issued ammo, A1, but at simulated combat range velocities? Maybe say starting at 100 meters and increasing in 100 meter increments out to maybe 400 meters? Just a thought
Who's AR650 steel? There are some variants of AR650 that will stop M855A1 at point blank from the longest barrels.
How about AR500’s? But any that you would like to test would be interesting. From your other videos, M80A1 blows through steel but seeing what happens at longer range be interesting. Same with M855A1
I just recieved my armor from RMA and discovered my 11" x 14" 1155 plate is 11 lbs, and my 1155 10" x 12" is 7ish lbs.
Im statting to wonder if 11lbs is too much.
Maybe not. Afterall an extra 3.5-4lbs is like hanging 3 bags of potato chips on your carrier. It doesn’t sound too bad when i think of it that way.
Maybe for a video idea, you could talk about your favorite lighter plates and have price/protection tiers as you see fit.

Ok I guess I’m kinda new like 11 months watching I think? However I noticed you have no videos on the 7.5 FK Bruno pistol/cartridge???
I feel this is something you gotta do!!!
It’s gonna make your 5.7 stuff seem a bit inadequate but that’s their problem!!!
But seriously for threats to defeat or at least have a chance I’d bet good on the 7.5 FK.
I understand your struggling. I’ve seen your bedroom you’ve got 5.7 stashed under your mattress!!! It’s gone too far!!! Come back to us???
You’re like the 10-12th person who’s asked me to review 7.5 FK. Guess I’ll have to find a way to get one
@@BuffRANGE well crap obviously…
I mean if 5.7 is a sub .30 cal cartridge necked to .22 then it makes sense thd big brother is a 10mm case necked down to .30 cal???
Best of all the Bruno guys sell civilians the hot ammo the same virtually as the military. So no FN control to deal with.
I think it could be fruitful for yah???
But if it dies 3A at 100 yard can it do 3 at 7???
Grear video as always, comment for the algorythm
@BuffRANGE - I would LOVE a top 5 recommendation for Level IV plates in your highly-informed opinion. I just can't decide - even given the million videos of yours I have watched! Hesco 4601 looks good, so does LTC 26605, Hoplite in the same range, even this LAPG review looks pretty dang decent. HELP PLEASE! Thanks for your exceptional content!

@@BuffRANGE Since posting my question / comment, I’ve looked into the Prime Armor Level IV plates and they look great, but I don’t see them in your recommended list above. Thoughts? Thanks again!
@@wbhawkesI haven't tested them, so I can't make a recommendation on them. They know where to find me though. I've asked them before but not sure why they've never sent any.
3857 fps is a good amount of speed especially for 62gr .
Put your cavity tool on your sternum , i bet you dont have 10mm spare cavity space 😂 , that 40mm cavity gonna sting .
Go watch the LUCAS CPR compression device being used. You'd feel the BFD on various rifle plates, but it's not really a concern, even for pain. Soft body armor will be much more painful, but if you've ever taken a hard body shot from a kick, it'll be similar.
Most importantly, there hasn't been a single recorded death from backface deformation.
@@bewbew0016
Ive already seen it 😂 looks painful.
cpr = ''crack peoples ribs'' .
after seeing your LEOS their probably level 3A without a plate , they'll be a greater risk of heart failure then vest failure 😂.
I think England /here only allow a 25mm bfd
@TheCraigy83 Painful, sure, but won't kill you.
Yeah, I personally feel it's shameful to let yourself get that fat while being in LE or emergency response. The heart failure comment was funny. 😂
Yes, those are primarily 3A with no plates here.
@percisionshot4331 They were only 120 fps over spec. I don’t know man, I’d junk those plates if I were you. I wouldn’t trust them
How do these compare to the BOTACH level IV ceramic/poly?
I would say the Botach IV made by longfri have about the same build quality but have a little better strike lamination, but less backing material so more BFD
@@BuffRANGE thank you for the reply! I grabbed a botach set for $90 per plate a few years back, figuring that they could take a few standard load rounds and save my life, so money well spent
I have seen tests where backface deformation is more than I would like, so I paired each plate with a Non-Newtonian trauma pad, And thin dence foam pad behind that, hoping this would negate body damage. I wonder if the BF Deformation is why the plates aren't NIJ certified. Any idea about that?
Thanks again, love the show/channel
As always, your work is appreciated Matt. Edit to add, saw you posted some knives today just by happenstance lol
