The radiated tortoises are gorgeous. The lemur was beautiful but I feel that she will do better in the larger facility. The baby Galapagos are absolutely adorable as are the big guys. So sweet. Really nice man who really cares about his animals.
Was very puzzled by the lemur too. Guy very sensible (and successful!) with the endangered tortoises; but starts a rant about 'Big Bureaucrazy' crushing `The Dream` then proceeds in giving all the reasons why these lemurs should be under a single globally-organized programme, to stand a sliver of a less-inbred survival chance as a species. I understand the business case (`turnstyle animal`) but some ringtailed lemurs will do for that.
@M Lucas Agreed. I do also. Australia makes it a bit easier with only reusable plastic bag from most stores and now we are getting more paper straws in at food shops.
When Galaps get big like Darwin they remind me of Morla - I think it's the round heads, like a little old man, that they have im comparison to other breeds like Sulcatas. It's so frickin adorable! 😍
This reminded me of when I was young and we had our trio of California Desert Tortoises (they are endangered, but can be kept legally with a permit, which we did have). We had a big enclosed planter that we set up for them outside with shelters and hides. We didn't give them heat, as they are native to our region (and thus the ambient climate) and were allowed to brumate naturally overwinter in the burrows they dug, but we tried to recreate a habitat for them. They were much beloved by me and all my siblings. ❤
I love when he visits other conservation nuts to do videos because between them there's always huge amounts of knowledge. Even when he visits Fred we always get some nuggets of information 😂
The idiots in this world that don’t care about conservation and the preserving of species is maddening. Just look at these beautiful animals!! Thank you so much, Kenan. This was amazing!🐢❤️🐢
beautiful comment! Greed will be the eventual demise of humanity. That might be a good thing for the remaining animal and plant life. It's so sad we can't live in peace with nature.
Idk, I've had dealings with primates and I could not find a zoo that would ever take them (even a ring-tailed lemur). My area zoo had to quarantine the ape that they obtained for a single gibbon, for quite a while. They have reasons why they don't accept animals from unknown sources. All the primates end up in sanctuaries (if lucky). Primarily primates in TX was one of the ones I used, but I heard that they had issues. As long as the apes and monkeys are okay, I didn't care about the funding or where it was going.
I thought he had a son named Chandler the whole time, he seemed like a 17 year old 🤣 That's Chandler from Chandler's Wild Life and it all makes sense! He's an old soul and a young spirit. 😊 Way to not steal the spotlight, like at all. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just received my juvenile chameleon and he is exactly what I ordered. I loved him at first site. Customer service was awesome. I love underground reptiles and will order again. Not everybody has a bad experience..
This is a really good video. I'm happy Kenan is giving guidance to Chandler ... as a conservationist and not just a youtuber. Good for Chandler for growing and continuing to learn.
Nice to see people stay with their passion. When I was a kid in the 60ies and 70ies I was an avid collector of reptiles and amphibians of Pennsylvania near Philadelphia. Whenever I was asked what I wanted to be the reply was a herpetologist and nobody new what that was. I was a accused of being a little strange had no idea so many people had this passion. Wish the internet existed than and you guys are the best for sticking with your passion into adulthood.
hey, Kenan. i'm a forty two year old fellow lifelong keeper from Pittsburgh. just wanted to say that i love your channel...it is the best animal content program available (okay-NERD and Clint maybe have you in a tie). thanks and keep on doing what you do, brother!
I've never seen anything like those "Radiated Turtles" they're incredible! Geez, they look really good wandering in the garden. What a great enclosure/habitat, you certainly care for their wellbeing. Great video. And those big tortoises are very impressive.
im so glad chandler is hanging around guys like you who love your animals and take care of them as much as chandler does with his! this is such a bromance just waiting to blossom
14:30, this is why young tortoises that can brumate naturally are able to brumate. Russian tortoise eggs laid in spring may hatch in fall but the hatchlings emerge later next spring(the same can be said for the summer eggs laid after estivation). This is just anecdotal evidence and logic I pieced together, but someone should definitely confirm this with an experiment and make it known in the temperate tortoise community!
I think we should get Kenan to get Greg Whitstock (Greg the Pond Guy) and the Aquascapes team to build Jason and his animals a beautiful rec pond. He clearly loves these animals and does a ton for conservation and he did say he is super jealous of Kenan's ponds! Get him his own!
God is so wonderful his critters creation are so special 💖✝️😇 you dudes are so blessed! I have 6 six python family and we live in an apartment and hope so much that we can get a house soon!
Having been to the Galapagos Islands, I find it so cool to see these guys up close! On the islands, you couldn't get within 6 ft of the animals so that the animals can't get used to humans and be as natural as possible.
The baby Galapagos tortoise are profound. The fact these tiny creatures will still be alive long after all of us looking at it today are dust just amazes me.
Sweet show thank you for the awesome video. My wife and i have found two desert turtles at our frt door and have kept them for years now and we love them. They were left in our neighbor hood and had pait on them like some one marked them seeing if they come back. The must have been caged from beginning cause they had lil survival skill. We made a nice area for them and been loving them ever since
Hi Kenan Thanks for filming your friend's tortoise's collection. Those radiated tortoise were so beautiful. He has such a awesome area for them all. It's fantastic that they are breeding to expand his collection. Because so many are becoming endangered. Chandler was so quiet.Your video was excellent . You both love, and and share such important information on tortoise's. 🐢🐢🐢🐢❤️ Kate had a fun time to. Cindy
Wow, that is some beautiful terrain....... unreal........I've never seen a large radiated. Those bi-colored radiated are by far the most beautiful tortoises I've ever seen.
"We can't hug" Funnily enough the G7 can, the Met Gala, Grammies, politicians behind the scenes...all if them can have super spreader events, hug & kiss.
All Florida reptile owners please go to USARKFL.Org for information about the ban on green iguanas, tegus, large snakes and RES turtles 🐢 As a community of reptile owners we need to stand up for our rights before more and more exotics are banned. Thanks for standing up with us Kenan ! 😊😊😊
We all nerded out with you guys in this video. Wow, Galapagos hatchlings! And Spike made a grand entrance. By the way, thank you for setting a good example on social distancing and helping to crush this curve. Anyway, that was sheer fun.
Never knew I liked tortoise's so much until I started watching your channel. Great stuff and love all the knowledge! They seem very happy and well taken care of!👍
When he said I think they have some kind of ground penetrating radar, I started to laugh and was thinking, yeah right. But the more I thought about it, the more I thought he may actually be onto something. Great video, they are all beautiful creatures. I have a turtle too, it is only a red eared slider but we love her non the less. She has been part of the family for past 16 years.
I liked the theory bout the tort using sound to locate the right kind of ground to nest. I makes sense , they could lie on the ground , generate a infra sound pulse , just like elephant do. Which penetrates the ground. Hard rock would reflect more sound. Soft ground less
@@lauralishes1 the tiny cages are only for their protection against bad weather conditions and where they can take their rest peacefully , otherwise they are kept free during the day to move in this small park. The last wild population of the critically endangered lemurs tortoise is estimated to 1,000 lemurs , only 15 survivors are still alive and reproducing today as they are protected . thanks for commenting

I'm just curious so that is your first inclination generally..so then what do you say when you learn ( from me) or anyone that so many many animals are near extinction or will be soon? Amazing animals. Sad to think they will all be extinct soon just so some rich guy can get richer.
He also said he was giving them to a zoo with a 200 x 200' enclosure for them.
They are in a tiny cage!
@M Lucas Agreed. I do also. Australia makes it a bit easier with only reusable plastic bag from most stores and now we are getting more paper straws in at food shops.
When Spike got a close up, he reminded me of the giant tortoise from Neverending Story.

Morla the Ancient One
Dude the way they walk up to everyone is so adorable!! They are like giant slow dogs lmao
Chandler is like your new best friend. The two of you do well together.
Chandler is a funny guy, I also like his channel

Ok, the baby G’s literally made me tear up! So beautiful! Y’all are living my dream life! 🥰🌴💚💚💚
Chandler in the background patting the tortoises 🤣
I love how this guy doesn't interrupt every second and lets the owners speak a out their passion, interested in more of his videos
Lord_ DiMiTri_ it’s funny you say that because there’s 50 other comments saying Kenan doesn’t let Jason talk. Lol

This is a really good video. I'm happy Kenan is giving guidance to Chandler ... as a conservationist and not just a youtuber. Good for Chandler for growing and continuing to learn.
Awesome to know there’s good people being stewards for these majestic animals. Thank you for sharing your kindness.
I LOVE how ask! "May I enter?", "Can I pick one up?"
So few people are that considerate.

Yooo I comented the same

Those tortoises are just stunningly gorgeous, all of tthem. What beautiful animals, really.
Jason Abel is a cool guy and its awesome the studies he allows his animals to go through for the sake of conservation
Holy Crap! That's the quietest I've ever seen Chandler. You'll have to teach Ruth how to do that, it could be a useful skill for her.

The Torts with the beautiful sun burst design in the shell are really beautiful
Beautiful tortoise? at the start, love the shell patterns. Thank you sir for taking care of these beautiful animals 💙
