It is odd how it's the conservative media that are largely the only ones pushing for liberal values, with the right to choose what you believe in, opt in or out from, and to be able to criticise without punishment or censorship. I'm not sure if there is such a thing as truly liberal media outside of this, as most opposing press lean more progressive, keeping up with the latest trends and what they feel companies and society should feel is morally right to support. You could still argue that both types of media still filter out content they'd rather the public not see, with the beliefs of viewers remaining unchallenged, for the most part being fed what you want to hear or see
And its members are universally stupid and immature. They're stupid for pushing such nonsensical ideas in the first place, and then, like children, they throw a tantrum every time anyone points out their stupidity.
The test of the validity of an idea is how robust it is when subject to scrutiny and critique... No wonder these people go apoplectic whenever they're faced with such things.
"of course you can cover controversial issues - but your role as an educator is to introduce your students to the full range of ideas about that issue, and to help them develop the critical thinking skills to form their own thoughts on the issue. That's what a university is about! ...Not to pick one side in a political debate and teach that as the right one" Well said!
It’s not just universities that are doing this sort of thing. Schools are getting students to write campaign speeches on particular issues in English/PSHE. They also get them involved with protests.
10 years ago I visited the OU in Camden. I was younger, more driven by racial identity and racism. I was successful being accepted on a political science course but left before the year was out. The dogmatic nature and the victimhood language, tone and inference that was in the reading materials and learning community suffocated me. Im nonwhite and from difficult working class beginnings. I could feel the grand standing and the gist of what i was supposed to think, learn be taught and pedal out their in the world. Looking at the movement and direction of education over that period, Im glad I opted out. Its seductive, massaging and very much leading. It is a movement. The left is a movement, Id thought otherwise until exposed to maturity and newer, more varied environments. Buzz words, virtue signalling and blocking out counter arguments or ways of living ie Censoring dissent , criminalising unapproved behaviours, not allowing opposition to even exist, not for me. Good luck to decent people’ everywhere.. 🙏🏽🇬🇧☘️
This is surely an open and shut case? You cannot insist that people need to teach this garbage. The right to gender critical beliefs is already established in law.
I would have thought so too. Maya Forstater precedent. On top of that, wouldn't you think the OU would've learnt its lesson after the Jo Phoenix tribunal where the OU got absolutely PANNED for their wrong-think.
I am looking forward to the legal cases from transitioners in the years to come. These grifters will find out the error of their ways. Where can I get some popcorn?
Gender ideology is a subjective belief.. Just like any other belief that defines or includes self perception. Just because a country protects your freedom to believe whatever you want.. doesnt mean other people have to agree with you. Solipsists believe theyre the only thing thats real... but it doesnt give them the right to treat everyone else like they dont exist or to force other people into pretending theyre imaginary. Freedom of belief and religion means exactly that.... Freedom to believe whatever YOU want... but it doesnt mean other people should be compelled to believe it also.
What Dr. Gadow describes ist typical for a Critical Social Justice (CSJ) agenda - and a university that's been ideologically captured by this movement. I highly recommend Helen Pluckrose: the Counterweight Handbook - a very accessible explanation of CSJ, the DEI industry, and what you can do when it comes for you...
Free speech is essential. I am totally against censoring different views, unlike both some "wokes" and "anti-wokes" (terms i think are highly unproductive, as is "ideology" in the way its used
Looking at this video again, to pick out key points. Groan, I'm only 1 minute in, and aware of the dismissive tone. That doesn't mean she's wrong in what she's going to say next, merely an indicator that I have to beware of making assumptions that she's a condescending entitled self-important establishment fogey. That's a warning to myself that will benefit her
1 minute 25 or so. It's already more blatant . The biased and emotive terminology, from "ideology" as a sly insult rather than an objective term, in this case (as usual) as implying that ideology is something "other" thus ignoring that law, like other aspects of any society, is thoroughly ideological. This is quickly followed be the word "crowbarred" - about as objective as talking about migrants "swarming"! This is her preamble, laying the groundwork, helped by the presenter feeding her the right questions (right for her, and the sponsors, not for anyone wanting a serious analysis). She hasn't even started talking about the actual case yet!!!! Oh dear, I'm doing my best but it's already difficult for me to want to believe her
She has clear ideological beliefs, a narrow ideology - backed by the presenter. Both blithely using the terms ideology & ideological. The presenter by now is openly putting words I her mouth, and it increasingly sounds scripted (by 3 minutes or so into the interview). Aaaargh didn't quite mention Hitler but there's comparing Britain today with totalitarian Stalinism. Oh, and now it's finished! What have I learned about the sacking? Well, er, ummmm, nothing really beyond what was stated initially. So what was the point of the interview?
May the Open University lose, badly.
A extraordinary irony that they refer to a deliberately constrained curriculum as 'liberated'.
Newspeak is overtaking English. George Orwell must be spinning in his grave.

Liberated from what one may wonder.
Liberated from liberation perhaps.
Orwellian new speak
Not a smart move for the Open University administrators to challenge a law lecturer on the law. Good luck to her in court!
University challenged 🤣
@@Leon-lt5gvindeed 😂😂😂😂
A new disorder to put on PIP application forms, "I am severely university challenged and so can no longer apply sense or logic to my actions!"
Shame on you Open University.
It has become a cult
And its members are universally stupid and immature. They're stupid for pushing such nonsensical ideas in the first place, and then, like children, they throw a tantrum every time anyone points out their stupidity.
Brilliant well-spoken woman. Thanks for this.
Dr Almut Gadow, you are a brave, courageous and inspirational woman.
A disgrace
He/she MUST remain factual in law. Male crimes, including rpe are being logged as female.
Notourcrimes 🗣️🗣️
Thanks to Jo too🤗💪
I hope she challenges this BS. Have they learned nothing from their abuse of Dr Jo Phoenix? This is compelled speech enforced by cultists.
Thanks to the FSU, (and Andrew) for helping this lady in her case.
HERE COMES THE RETURN OF THE inquisition !
The test of the validity of an idea is how robust it is when subject to scrutiny and critique...
No wonder these people go apoplectic whenever they're faced with such things.
💯
You need every minute of studying for a degree to learn the actual subject. I hope this decent teacher gets huge compensation for unfair dismissal.
They don't want experts, they want followers and activists.
Social engineering

We live in a totalitarian regime, and Starmer is now constructing a new Starsi.
This is why we could do with some old fashioned heresy laws - to keep the totalitarians out.
@hayleys-w5q There is absolutely no to remove him for another 5 years. By then, it will be too late.
@hayleys-w5q You sound like a foreign asset. I keep seeing all these foreigners who know nothing about our political system leaving this comment.

"Why don't people involved in the teaching of law, know the law?" Exactly.
they want to use Government to put into Law their opinions.
*their STUPID, NONSENSICAL opinions.
Liberating the curriculum? 😂😅😂 Some people need to get a haircut and get a real job.
Watched this last night (free speech nation is brilliant). This is an important case, I look forward to the outcome. Keep up the great work FSU.
Asking questions are micro aggressions 😅 Sicophants !!
At this point I'm no longer even that surprised
Oh they are so gonna lose!
‘Open University’ my ass
Why don't they know the law?
They are "liberated" from the law.
This is surely an open and shut case? You cannot insist that people need to teach this garbage. The right to gender critical beliefs is already established in law.

The law system is indoctrinated by this ideology, as you can see in this video. So the outcome of these legal cases is very unsure at the moment.
Two genders an XX or XY, end of story, nature doe not do variations upon those. This Is not complex stuff.
Great lm identifying 30 years younger and l want GOVERNMENT to pay for my transition

A University's law is the Charter, Statutes, Ordinances, and Regulations. Policies have no standing.
❤🇬🇧❌❌
So even the law is being taught with dei so this must stop or how can we win?
I would like to plug a book written by John Grayne. Universal Ideology Exposed.
I found it very informative.
People seem to forget that gender is in the eye of the beholder.

Now she simply sounds disingenuous, oh I didn't set out to do that, I simply thought my law students did not need the distraction over pronouns ...

can i please just do my hair & makeup , dress how the f..k i want and the world just sod the f..k off
Why in a class room do you need to call them pronouns, Their name, or at least point to them and say your answer. Do we now say mr/miss smith/jones
Back in the 70s all my lecturers called students Mr. or Miss , and we called our lecturers Dr. or Professor and so on
😢😮🎉
Can atheists practice law? I would think so. And why would that be ok? ( I don’t care one way or the other).
Another kathleen Stock ?
