Once you've finished working through that book and are looking for battles to simulate, go look up "The War Game" edited by Peter Young. Ten famous battles from Themopylae to El Alamein and how to game them out with miniatures. Extensive history of each battle, maps, pictures, orders of battle, lots of great info! Published in 1972, so it's very old school, but if you love old school miniature gaming, it's worth locating a copy!
I have that one! Picked it up at a used bookstore just a few months ago. Very cool stuff. I've also got most of the original Featherstone stuff, and a few others from back in the day. Freshman year of college the BUSS (Boston University Simulation Society) did Napoleonics every Sunday.
Perhaps somewhat ironically, or at least unfortunately, I've never actually done historical miniatures wargaming. I've done plenty of other minis stuff - BattleTech, Noble Armada, and a few others, but not the historical stuff. I ended up going in for a lot of the Avalon Hill board games instead.
Greyhawk, it was wonderful meeting you at Historicon this year. This is a great video and something I wish I had known about before I got into the hobby last October. It wasn't until about a week before Historicon and the buzz of Hyde releasing "Wargaming Campaigns" that I heard about his first book "Wargaming Compendium". Picked this book up myself at the vendor hall and am looking forward to doing a video about it as well. There is a wealth of information within it and more beginning wargamers should know about it.
You've got a great collection, thank you for sharing!

Thanks. Added that to my “Buy next” list.

Great seeing you too! I'll be at Fall-In in November, too.
