I know it's not the focus of the vlog but I love the cat in Nick's mirror . Shoes look alright too :) (probably designed more for that packed dry earth you get in the western states)
Thanks for the in-depth and honest review. I’ve had my eye on this one for some trail races and training, but I’ll think I’ll hold off. I don’t know that it will be any better than the Topo MTN Racer that I have now.I can always count on you gents for the straight dope on shoes I’m looking at.
Thank you for the review! I think this shoe could be suitable for the Country to Capitol ultra from Wendover to London in January. A 43 mile race with the first half run across some country fields and trails in English winter, followed by the last half along a canal towpath almost entirely paved ground. Still way to expensive for what it offers though.
Thank you for the warning ⚠️ I was to get Peregrine, ending up with the Xodus Ultra. Now hoping to build on that adding some Endorphins... My right foot is already on the Edge 😅 with heal slippage. Xodus a bit better on this but not great. So it's a NO for expensive Rift. I'll wait for the XU³ or... finally get that Peregrine! 😆
I've not seen any reviews of puma's voyage nitro 3Gtx and was wondering if any of you have tried those and if so how they compare to other trail shoes. They seem a relatively good value trail shoe and I'm a fan of the deviate nitro 2, so hoping they are a good option for winter running.
Yeah this shoe has been a disappointment; the Edge has a better toebox and lockdown. The Xodus Ultra 2 (and 1) is much more comfortable, and the Peregrine has a better combination of fit, speed, and stability. Not enough eyelets on the Rift, restrictive, curved toebox, and a tonuge sleeve that's not padded enough - it's just a bit sloppy even with that great foam, and outsole. Bummer of the year...

I was about to write the same thing ;)
a) that IS/should be the focus of any content on youtube!
b) @nick ... i hope you framed the shot to incorporate the cat ;
/cheers

I agree with Nick, I've tried it as well and I was a bit disappointed ... I prefer the plated version (Endorphin Edge) .. bouncier and more responsive
I don’t understand why the Saucony Exodus Ultra 2 doesn’t get more love.
Thanks, I’d been considering this for a trail race. Hoka Tecton X v1 can be sourced for £99, might try that….
Thank you for the warning ⚠️

I pretended the cat was doing the review.
I used this shoe for a 50k in Topanga canyon. Had no issues but i am switching to Altra olympus 5

Sounds more like a hiking shoe, instead of a running shoe.
