Game Review & Impressions

Infuse Final Fight with some F-Zero style hover board action and set it in a post-apocalyptic cityscape, and you have Riding Fight. Taito leveraged their super scaling graphics knowhow for this release, and while its definitely a looker, the game itself feels rather lacklustre.
For all its fancy sprite scaling, the combat just feels hollow. Punching enemies doesn't feel particularly satisfying, and the collision detection sometimes seems inconsistent. The boss fights are fairly involved and are the mainstay of the experience, but even then, I found I was getting bored quite quickly. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer a more traditional beat 'em up - Riding Fight certainly looks exciting, but this just left me a little bit cold.

This channel shows you so much games that never turned up at your local arcade. Amazing channel.
Glad you enjoyed it - it never ceases to amaze me how many coin-op games were released. Most of these never got as far as UK arcades, certainly not when I was growing up at least.
This comment made me subscribe.
Thank goodness for mame
This game is like the Neon Night Riders level in the SNES Ninja Turtles game, except made into an entire game.
With a hint of some F-Zero and Battle Clash.
Omgosh, you’re right?!😮😱🤯😶🌫️😄😏😎
Never seen or heard of this game before. Clever combination of super scaling sprites and 2D beat-em up.
By those hoverboards, I'm guessing it was probably inspired by Back to the Future II - Though these boards clearly have 'power' since they can traverse water.
It’s also like the SNES version of the Neon Night Riders level from Turtles In Time!😄😏😎
Burn & Keith was later reused by Taito as the main characters for their fighting game series, Psychic Force, which at it's time was also unique since you are constantly flying in a 3D space
Good to know that. Now we just need AL82 to look about finding the game to play :)
I was about to point that out, but you beat me to it. Psychic Force was a great fighting game.
11:12 - "This man should be manacled or punshed." Wait... hold up!
The guy writing the bounties be like, "I'm a dude! He's a dude! She's a dude! Cuz we're all dudes, hey!"
And the 2nd player at the end is like, "Jokes on you! I'm into that shit!"
Never seen this before since I'm avid beat'em up fan and it looks kind of cool with the super scaling graphics. Thanks for the video Al!
I’m subbed too, this game looks amazing it’s like F ZERO & FINAL FIGHT got together & made this
This is how life was supposed to be as an adult. 😥😥
Giant shoulder pads, cool hover boards, beat up street gangs, giant bosses, explosions, and fresh food in random containers.
Nice to see “Naginata Princess” got to join the heroes after the Final Battle, and the girl they saved was grateful too.
Kazuya Mishima loves Riding Fight.
Never saw this game. The concept is incredible!!
- Really weird that you publish this less than a week after I randomly got the itch to look up videos of this, with no real prompting…great work digging this up on your end!
- Shame that they didn’t make Crusher’s stolen tank nor Abdullah’s warhead launcher a bigger part of their respective boss fights (or at all, in the case of the latter)
- while the stage music is just kinda there, the boss themes are shockingly good for being so short-much like with Babylon’s Fall earlier this year, they got stuck in my head REAL fast
Taito in the 90,s manufactured two arcade games from the Crayon Shin Chan anime in the genre quiz and minigames
This game’s music is so bloody.
No better than the sound of snes games.
Pretty unique for a 1990s game by Taito. Thanks for sharing!
This looks RAD to the MAX!
If Final Fight and F Zero had a baby...
Another game that I missed when I was younger.
I've got this loaded on the PS classic going to give it a shot right now thanks for the recommendation
The music is hilariously cheezy!!! Ahh man I wish I got to see these games when i was still a child, and wouldn’t pickup on these small details.
I love how the protagonists of games of those times were such unapologetic Chads that were all about saving girls and the such. As a zoomer I tried to play those games but their visuals are simply too dated for me, but I love the ideas and characters.
Never heard of this game but it looks awesome.
This channel started popping up in my feed and there is some WILD shit I’ve never seen before. Like what the fuck is this game lmao
Okay, this is one of the coolest beat em up games I’ve ever seen, it’s like if the Neon Night Riders level from Turtles In Time was an entire game!😄🤩😎👌
What a strange concept! :-]
Thanks for this curiosity! ;-)
This is so rad there's no way I didn't just will it into existence. This didn't exist. My dreams hath manifested themselves.
Me: Do you like Racing Games or Beat´em´up Games
Riding Fight: YES!
Never seen this before, this looks unique
Going around the world righting wrongs with PG-13 Kenshiro and Tubular SSJ Goku on jet boards, doesn't get anymore rad than that.
Haven't seen this game before. Looks sweet though. I'd love to see a compilation of these obscure arcade gems come out on modern hardware. Give us a chance to play something we may have missed growing up in the 80's and 90's.
You have the best name!
I was just playing GodHand😂
@@GroovyFlacko There's another game that needs a port to modern hardware.
@@YoureNotAlexander that’s a whole fact!! Capcom needs to wake up and bring the real classics back😂 and put him in the the next MVC
Funnily enough, this game is part of Taito’s Egret II Mini add on “Arcade Memories Vol 1.” I’m glad too, as I’ve never played it

Love seeing these games I didn't know existed
Nothing can beat the late '80s Sega hardware sprite scaling scrolling, yet this one got kinda close to.
This game was developped for the Taito F3 arcade hardware on The Sharp X68000 :P
Very cool your video and gameplay of the game , what platform (emulator) did you use? Thanks.
What were the name of these graphics again? Mode 7 or something like that?
Love the art style of the game!!!!
The music sounds odd though, sounds like midi… it’s an emulation problem maybe?
Interesting. I'm reminded in parts of arcade games CHASE H.Q., SILENT DRAGON, SPACE HARRIER, and EA's SKITCHIN' for the Sega Genesis.
This game kicks ass all the way! I like the character sprite designs of the game, maybe the creator of this game also made Dungeon Magic as well.
This is an interesting concept for a beat em up
I've never heard nire saw this game before but it looks bad ass cool.
Fist of the north star on hover boards
Voice acting was fantastic
IN JAPAN, THEY SAY AN "INCIDENT" OCCURRED!
Never knew about this game at all but after seeing it now, I wonder why Taito never considered porting it to the SNES? I'm sure it's possible based on SNES Mode 7 but it's probably as simple as this game wasn't a popular and didn't sell well. Neat game though!
what f zero shouldve maybe had included
It’s like a road rash arcade. Wow.
SPECIAL ABILITY:
RUGBY
Another game I’m about to look up on my mame emulator 👏🏾
didnt see many 3d neogeo games, but this looks good
Fist of the North on a Hoverboard nice !
Just found this on mame no sound emulation yet, but going to let this vid play while I play close enough lol
Was this JP only? I've never seen this before.
I Prefer the tradicional Beat em up, inspired from the clasical F-Zero and Final Fight of Capcom, the sprites is created hand painted in the year and the 90,s is the ultimate golden decado of arcades, movies and animes
"Ura ura ura ura ura ura uraaaaaaahh"dude look like star platinum
3:29 was that the doomguy death cry?
If F Zero and Streets of Rage had a baby
This game is so cool!
I'll never get bored of riding fight! 😎 One of my very favourite pcbs
In terms of perspective, this has to be one of the oddest arcade games I've ever seen.
Burn and Keith? Psychic Force. Anyway, both games are made by the same company.
Your on to something
Never heard of this game, righteous
Looks pretty dope imo, it looks a lot like Hokuto No Ken.
F-zero meets double dragon cool.
Early 90’s :the arcade game lol
The soundfont of the game is bad in MAME for 2 reasons, the first it's sounds not well and is lost some soundfont files, the second one it sounds like a SNES game or like you're playing the game in a old phone.
this game is wonderfully cracked-out LOL
Never know that this existed
It reminds me of some contra hardcorps levels.
Este juego mo lo conocia gracias 🙂
Hokuto no Ken on hoverboards!
Is this game 100% emulated?
this is emulated and an older version, the real game's music actually sounds amazing. This is a re-recorded TAS play , easy to tell because he never takes damage but knows no strategies for this game.
Hover Fight... There... Also this looks like road rash on a board
Awesome gameplay 👍
Super gameplay
Kick flips for Hot Dogs!
Burn Bowie...epic name.
Wow.. Nice
Would be perfect on snes
22:50 😍
Cool beat 'em up! Seems like a very easy game though!
👏👏👏👏👏👏
6:44 wow...
Kenshiro in the future
Wish this this game had a anime I ripped this up then I Tokyo
Space Harrier and double dragon combined
Kenshiro on hoverboard 😂
Fzero beat em up edition.
The bosses start awesome and get lamer as you progress
สุดยอดครับ
anyone else think a better name for the character would be Bowie Burns instead of Burn Bowie?
Nice game !
Riding Fight Longplay (Arcade) [QHD]
これはアイディアは悪くないけど実際にやってみるとうーんてなる残念なゲームだった。
当時意外と好きでやってたけど
こんなに音がショボいとか…
Guess it’s good someone else played it, huh? :)
Space Harrier inspired.
👍😃
This game is going to be on the Egret II Mini Arcade Memories Volume 1 SD Card
Rad
Remake 😊
1992 wow this fake 3D fight is totally amazing!..
but music is awful
This game looks fantastic but I have a different F-word to describe the painfully generic music.
