We love it when we catch on lures but it is frustrating when it’s tough fishing, definitely gets a bit tedious!

My best advice with fishing in heavy pressured water is to go ultra light. 4 or 2 pound line test and if you have Berkeley gulp minnow 1inch or use some sort of scent like procure that has stepped up my game and I out fish a lot of people. Sometimes going small works best for those small canals

@@CalAndDani your fishing the wrong end of the oxford canal need to come down my area i accidently caught a 14lb pike on a 1lb bream it didnt let it go so i netted it pb pike theres zander coming out up to 8lb an theres perch up to 3lb an pike over 20lb start at bedworth and head towards nuneaton if you cant catch a pike there then give up for life

I've not caught in the GUC this side of christmas, though my last fish the weekend before Xmas was my PB perch (42cm), I love and hate the bastards.

Now you know why lure anglers from Oxford would rather fish further up the canal. The best time, probably, to fish the Oxford end is in the winter time, especially when it gets clearer due to low boat traffic. Even so, it tends not to produce much in the way of big fish. Having said that, though, there is a chance of catching a double figure pike and perch over 2lb; and it is reported, one or two nice sized zander. This time of the year, though, I would definitely try further up. Nice chub, by the way.
Yeah it’s defo a harder venue than usual but we’ve seen pics of some good fish on the stretch it’s just finding them!

Hi mate I'm from the area ur fishing the wrong bits if you go back there I can show u were the big 3lb plus perch hide and also were I've had 21lb plus pike from there's lots of little back waters were u was that's were the big perch hide 👍

I think the scene where you are removing the hook from your jacket, is a fine example of why us fishermen should never be using barbed hooks.
They should be banned all together.

We’re helping a person in need to have a roof over his head for the night, not everyone is fortunate enough to have that…he didn’t even have a bed to sleep on, let alone a fishing rod.
