Time has taken our WII veterans from us. But this movie is 20 years old. Reports when it was released, many WWII veterans who went to see it left during the opening scene…because it brought them back to Normandy, at that time. God rest all of them.🇺🇸🦅🇨🇦🇬🇧🇫🇷🇱🇺🇵🇱
I hope there doesn't come a day that all people think of this, is that its just a movie. I hope people can always remember that there were real people living that fight and making those sacrifices.
He's a great filmmaker. This here is his masterpiece. I heard that vets screening it had to walk out during the Normandy invasion because it was so realistic.
In my opinion this is the most realistic portrayal of war. The first 10 minutes of this movie were brutal. Tom Hanks and the rest of the cast deserved all the accolades they received.
It wasn't until my third viewing that it suddenly dawned on me - his wife read the marker like she had no idea who Capt. Miller was - Ryan had never spoken about his time in the war or about Capt. Miller and the men who saved him.

None of these reactors realized that Ryan never told his family ANYTHING about the war. He kept it all to himself.
