I went to go watch this in the theater I was only 21 at the time. I had plans to go out to The Century Club that night with some friends here in LA. After watching it I was a complete mess and had to stay home because it consumed me emotionally and physically. It’s the only movie that I will never watch again from start to finish. Movies like this one are rare these days this is a masterpiece. All I kept thinking is if I have lived a good life even though I was only 21. This movie changed me, my family, my on and off gf at the time, my career in the Marine Corps. Only movie to have ever done that. I will watch people here reacting to it but never will I watch this film again the whole thing and yet it is one of my favorite movies of all time.
I've been watching the series "The Chosen" and season 5 coming out this April. It's a different spin on the life of Jesus Christ and His disciples. Season 6 is the is where He is going to get crucified, but I've been going through boxes of tissues each season. Never really put John Coffey and Jesus Christ as the same, but it fits.
One big reason this segment is so effective griping the heart is because of how long it is, and they keep hitting over and over until you're done.😭😭😭😭😭😭
The Green Mile, what a movie, a teer jerker but absolutely fantastic, I cried my eyes out at this movie so much, and I've seen it maybe about 10 times, and still cry at it.
This movie is a story about Jesus. That humans would've crucified him no matter how perfect, what tme period, what place, or what race he came back as.
It sad because he chose to be executed. He was tired of all the misery and evil all over the ugly world. He didn't want that gift anymore to see and feel it.
Or... MAYBE you dont buy the message the fiction is telling. Its a story against capital punishment because MAYBE hes jesus christ and can cure cancer and heal people... and the mountains of evidence isnt legit because he was just healing them. Stop.
All of my life, I've never believed in the death penalty in any state of America. My Mother told me as a child about innocent people who have been convicted of crimes and put on death row or even put to death only to find out they were innocent after all. This movie has proven my point. 💔 Yes, I know it's a movie.
@@russcavanaugh5049 but despite of it being fiction, there were innocent black folks that were executed over crimes they didn’t commit. The youngest black person that was executed over being falsely blamed during that era in America was 15 yrs old. So stories like this aren’t too far fetched except for the fact that John had special powers. Maybe Stephen king wanted to create his own interpretation of how African American people were treated back then but I think it’s unfortunate they ended John’s life even though he saved others and helped the authorities solve a murder case
So was Texas chainsaw massacre. Btw - all that means is - someone got murdered by a chainsaw... and in this its - maybe a rapist with MOUNTAINS of evidence - was wrongly convicted... or not. MAYBE he was Jesus... MAYBE.
Stuff like this happens every day to people who look like John... IN REAL LIFE... no one feels a thing. Some will cheer it on and share memes relishing the deaths.
This is a film where no one has to be ashamed of crying. The film gets me every time.
This movie broke me then I asked my girlfriend to watch it with me and she cried even after the movie was finished man we couldn't stop the tears
I agree it's one of the few movies that really touches a nerve.
@cinema_reactions_hub tugs at your heart strings like literally hurts your heart
It makes me cry every time I watch it.

An interviewer asked Stephen King, novelist of The Green Mile, "Is John Coffey reference to another famous JC?" King replied, "yes"
No he didn't. He eluded to it but didn't say it outright

I never put that together 😮

This movie broke me
No. The scene is effective because an innocent man is wrongfully executed!
I wish there were more people like the first girl who reviewed the scene. You can't fake that empathy.
Saw this in the theater, everyone was ugly crying. And I mean EVERYONE.
Watched in theaters, there was not a dry eye after watching this movie. Everybody was crying 😢😢😢😢
The Green Mile, what a movie, a teer jerker but absolutely fantastic, I cried my eyes out at this movie so much, and I've seen it maybe about 10 times, and still cry at it.
I cried about five times watching this movie. It hits you right in the heart.
Very powerful words...😢
it would have been more emotional if Tom Hanks said ... """ May God have mercy on our souls. """ .... not you soul.
The Green Mile AND Shawshank… two of the Greatest Movies of all Time!!! Steven King still sooooo underrated🤷♂️
and Frank Darabont👌👌👌
No person can tell me they can watch this without 😭
If they can I wouldn't want any part of them
This movie is one of my favorite starting Tom Hanks 😢😢😢😢 My god this movie makes me cry when I watch it😢
If this movie don't make you cried inside and outside you don't have a heart. It made my soul cry
I feel that Paul was not asking God for mercy for John, but for himself for what he was gonna have to do. Even if John wanted it.
Its just a movie but it breaks my heart everytime.
i cant watch this scene without crying 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

John Coffey Jesus Chirst JC ....
Tengo 41 años, para mi es la película más triste que he visto 😢
Definitely up there as one of the saddest movies of all time
My first time watch this when i was toddler and with Chinese sub😅😂😂
I watch this scene when I need to cry 😢
The movie for a cry. This reaction video for a laugh.
Stephen King at his best, IMO...
Could at least have done a mashup, we've had to sit through this more than once. 😂
This movie is based on a true story, however is was a kid named goerge
No it's not.
@mythgreatbritain5634 Yes it is
EL MAESTRO STHEPHEN KING SABE COMO TOCAR LA FIBRA MAS PROFUNDA DEL SER HUMANO.
Yup crying again😂😢 2:46

❤❤❤
I was hopping the whole movie that he would be saved by someone.
This was base on a 14-year old black boy who they said killed two white little girls . Black boy was youngest to be electricticted !!
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
VERRY RIDICULOUS
😢
If you don't cry multiple times during this. "Jus me," but you're a cold-hearted individual. & i feel sorry for you. You're broken.

naw i pass
This is history😪😪😪
In ways it is even though it’s fiction. What I will never understand is why did they still kill him even after the learned who the real killer was
@@MrRon3278 Because its fake lol its a storytelling device from what is tantamount to a very average story.

So übertrieben..🤦🏻♂️
Sad movie but these reactions are hilarious. Sorry.
Is this supposed to make blacks feel sympathized with?
Oh stop the crocodile tears.....
Is your comment supposed to so anything other then show us you're narrow minded, unintelligent and a race grifter?
Smells like Fried Chicken Extra Crispy!
Haha he’s scared of the dark. Another mediocre Tom Hanks movie.
Edgelord troll looking for attention

@ I think he was dumped at a garbage dump
"May God, have mercy on your soul."
Roll on 2!
Stuff like this happens every day to people who look like John... IN REAL LIFE... no one feels a thing. Some will cheer it on and share memes relishing the deaths.
