I couldn't stop smiling. The way he was "passing the buck" was so cute. He obviously seen the show thousands of times. He was happier with a game show prop than 3,000 bucks. I wonder what happenned to that "2" sign?

John really is what Bob would call "a loyal friend and true." And just think, after the 10th anniversary of his appearance, he will be eligible to appear on the show again -- provided it's still on the air. (But I'm afraid it may not be, given the direction FremantleMedia is taking it...) And take a look at John's shirt -- the spay/neuter postage stamps that Bob had often pitched on-air, are depicted.
I myself have autism as well. I am so jealous this guy got to be on the show, with Bob Barker too! Now there's Drew Carey. He's okay, but nobody will be another Bob Barker.
I was a BLT Tour Guide with Toomey too!!! I was actually there when you first started working there and going through training. Love that guy!!! And not only does he know everything about the Price is Right -- but tons of other game shows as well.

My brother is autistic... He so smart though... He got 100% on two Algebra 2 exams. With no help and the only kid to get 100% in the whole school... There's 1000 plus kids In the school.

I saw this episode when it originally aired. I remembered it because John's the only guy I've ever actually *seen* asking to keep a pricing game prop, though I've heard it has happened on other occasions. But, to answer your question, John did make it to the showcase round, but didn't win.
And I thought I'd be the first autistic contestant on TPIR. When I went down to visit my aunt in California (when she used to live in the area). Me and my family tried to get on TPIR (months before Bob Barker retired), but we weren't successful getting on. And I had the perfect shirt to wear on TPIR...oh well.

I think they were running out of time because of all the conversation in the beginning. Even if the contestant knew the rules, Bob would usually explain them anyway, which he didn't, presumably because of time also.
Reveal what! That is private information, and only the person with it or their parents should reveal it! It is against the law to reveal private information. Do you want total strangers to know your social security numbers? There, you don't!

This kid John is one of my friends! He is so sweet and totally knows everything about The Price Is Right lol. I'm so happy for him!

I would say he passed on the car because he wasn't comfortable driving. My son, who is also autistic, made the very adult decision not to drive.
