I watched this show alot when I was a kid. Even though I had school my mom used to tape this show for me almost every day & I had hundreds of VHS tapes then when I learned about DVRs then I got a TiVo to record the show only when I was in school.
I have nice memories of watching Bob Barker on TPIR also during sick and snow days from school. Not to mention some days on winter and summer vacation.
I remember when I lived at my grandfather’s place, born in his house and lived there and until I was 18 years old I always watched the price is right with him sitting on his lap or in the chair right next to him, BoB Barker Definitely the best game show host of all time❤️
It saddens my heart to hear of Bob Barker's passing. Indeed, he remains an enduring memory in my heart. I recall hearing how college students often planned their college classes around "The Price Is Right." I was one such student when I entered college in 1980 and I distinctly remembered the fall of 1980 when I was a freshman. My classes finished each day--Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. I would rush back to my dormitory--actually ran. Lucky for me my professors usually dismissed us five minutes before the end of class and it took approximately five more minutes to get to my dormitory room. As fast as I could, I was on the television on channel 2 watching "The Price is Right." This tradition continued throughout the 90's and as much as I could I would watch it, and/or video tape it so that I when I came home from school (became a school teacher) and taught college as well. I will miss him. He is a living legend; an icon who will be sorely missed.
I remember my grandmother making me turn on the television every morning at 10 a.m. for Bob Barker Price is Right I was like seven or eight years old now I'm almost 40 and he's still with us. My grandmother passed in 2001at age 83
Though Bob is irreplaceable, let's also give credit where credit is due. Drew Carey also has a heart of gold and a tremendous respect for legends of the business, like Bob. In the not-too-distant future, I think Drew will be a legend in his own right!
Yes, I think so too. I remember how he was not well liked by many people when he first took over, but I think that was mainly because they didn't like Bob being replaced. It would have been that way no matter who it was taking over. I think Drew was very wise in being himself and not trying to be like Bob. I'm sure he'll end up having a whole generation of younger folks who will see him the same way that we see Bob.
Bob once again walking out onto the pice is right stage, to the price is right theme is one hell of a magical moment :) Long live Bob Barker...86 and still going strong.
