Pink Floyd - See Emily Play (Top of the Pops 6/7/67) [Accurate Audio Sync]

- This is an extremely rare performance of See Emily Play on Top of the Pops from 1967, featuring a rare live vocal performance from Syd Barrett to the single's instrumental. The original master tape of this performance was wiped along with hundreds of other TOTP episodes. However, a home recording of this performance was discovered in the collection of Bill Harrison, along with other performances by Procol Harlem, The Turtles and Dave Davies.
The tape was badly damaged, featuring constant rolling. I've tried to accurately sync the original single to this performance by fixing the constant speed fluctuation on the tape. I've also used AI to restore Syd Barrett's live vocals.

This is gold. Syd looking sharp and clear eyed lip syncing Emily. Too much.
Syd is singing live over a backing track as most bands did on totp in those days.

It sounds different, his vocals..... Incredible find , way too bad about the condition. Can only imagine how good the original tape would have looked. Maybe, way in the future AI will be able to fix this video up abit....

This Floyd performance has mimed vocals and instruments. They lip-synced over "See Emily Play". This does not have "live vocals"
I'm pretty sure for this performance they did have Syd's live vocals over the track. To my ears, when comparing this performance with the original song, some vocals sound slightly different in parts, and I've seen other people say this did have live vocals, but I might be wrong.
He's definitely singing along live but the studio vocals are still in the backing track so it's hard to tell without listening closely. It's a similar case with King Crimson's TOTP performance where Greg lake sang live vocals along with the studio vocals and you have to really listen in to tell.
@sinkingshipsfan It's difficult to tell whether the vocals are live or if it's just audio issues with the tape (tape lag). I'd like to think that these are live vocals, which makes the video all the cooler
