I purchased it last week. Oh Man… this is just awesome, great sound, great bass , louder than you expect. I am in love with this one. Just can’t stop myself listening songs on this one….
I purchased the Acton 3 and the Woburn 3 to try them out. I'm returning the Woburn 3. Nothing wrong with it, it's a beast! But I was more impressed by the Acton 3 considering its size and price.
The acton 3 is incredible, got it yesterday from watching your reviews and others. I still can't believe it sounds this good. Also the analog look gives a great touch at home.
Thank you for your video! I purchased three Acton III speakers during the Black Friday sale (one of them is a gift for my dad). I am absolutely in love with the Actons - the sound is truly beautiful!
I bought an Acton III after checking your review and I couldn't be more happy with the purchase. I was initially eyeing a Stanmore iii but for my small studio it felt like an overkill. Acton fills up the place nicely around mid volumes and when I listened to stanmore and Acton at the store I couldn't hear a noticeable difference in the sound quality. I also tested Woburn III and it was a totally different beast. Would love to get it someday. Thanks for the quality reviews. Really appreciate it.
I heard this on display at a Best Buy and walked over to buy the Acton III. But for some reason, I remembered of a Marshall Speaker with Straps and picked up the Kilburn II. Once I turned it on, I hated it. I ended up returning the Kilburn II and bought the Acton III which I originally wanted. This is my first Marshall speaker besides the Motif II A.N.C earphones. Totally worth the money and never regretting it.
Sound quality and the tone are the most important things to me. I am looking to buy a speaker set for the home, but one that is not too large. So, not any of the Woburns, and the Tufton is too expensive for me. I am weighing up the prices and availability, and the sound quality between the Acton 3 and the JBL boombox 2, which has bluetooth 5.2 and is water resistant, and also has stereo, but isn't as rich in sound as the Marshalls. So far the JBL is way more available to me. .This is the review that got me interested in the Acton 3. Without this review I would never have considered any of the Marshall speakers. You have opened up another door, thanks for posting this excellent and honest, also straight forward review. Super helpful. Thanks
I purchased the Acton 3 today, excited to get it. I feel it is such a great style with equal sound capabilities! Plus the future proofing updates will be attractive as well with adding other Marshall speakers.
Personally sounded like the Acton 3 was better in project and wider soundstage. The Klipsch while I love the looks was a bit more hollow or quieter in loudness. The original Acton was good but not nearly as loud, that being said I would be content owning any single one of them but the Acton 3 would be my choice if I had disposable income
I have the first generation Acton and it is simply amazing! Thanks to your videos, I haven't bought the 2nd generation speaker. And thanks again that now I can easily buy the 3rd generation 😁 Great videos and best of luck on RUclips!
2 equalizers, not 3 the first knob is the volume knob, it doesn't count as an equalizer since it's a master frequency changer, a normal equalizer changes very specific frequencies.
Finally bought the Marshall acton 3 , brown colour today , just to clarify does the metal accents in this version look kind of rose goldish , couldn’t find any videos to compare , please do clarify
Thanks for a great review. Purchased the Acton 3 based on this review and some of your other ones. Needed to replace an old Bose speaker. It hooks up into our turntable and is a great bluetooth speaker. Thanks again!
I got the Acton 3 after watching your video, actually you dissuaded me from buying Bose revolve plus and am i glad . The Acton 3 sound pretty frickin awesome!!!
Just received the Acton III and......I so do not like the clearly visible seam, where the material is joined together. Makes it look tacky. Also it will come undone overtime. First I thought it was a defect of some sort, but I now have discovered they all have it. Surely Marshall could have thought of a solid way to cover the speaker in that price range.
Hi Danny...awesome review....ACTON 3 is currently 299 ( Canadian ) ... 215 ( US ) ......would you say thats a great deal and worth the money ? thx bud....cheers from Canada
What settings (i.e. trebble / bass) do you find best for the type of music here that you listen to on the Acton 3? Thanks for the reviews, you sold me on the 3! Sounds so much better than just about anything!!! :)
So I have been using the Acton 3 for two weeks now, even though it's quite good I feel like the bass is a bit lacking. I'm considering upgrading to a Stanmore 3 for better bass. Was the bass considerably better with the Stanmore in your experience, is it worth getting?
Is that new tech already released. I find it quite weird that they market a product with new features, but it relies on tech which has not been released yet. That sound so weird
Hi, your videos are really well made and I appreciate that you compare the new products to the original lineup. In this video the waveform of the acton III looks pretty compressed and less dynamic than the original acton but your hearing impressions are pretty similar. How is that? Im thinking about buying the acton III but am also considering the original acton or stanmore. Main Use Cases would be vinyl via aux and bluetooth streaming. What would you suggest?
The waveforms here aren't super high definition samples so compression would be hard to tell here. They are both running an SBC (mp3 quality) music file over bluetooth so the bit rate is the same. If you can get the original acton, it's just as good sounding at the 3. It's the 2 I recommend avoiding for muddy sound.
I love the way this speaker looks, but kind of hate the idea of having home speakers. I personally prefer portable speakers, but that's just a pet peeve of mine. I also completely agree on your opinion that the Acton 3 sounds the best out of all of them. It would most definitely make for an amazing part of a home speaker setup. Love the video and I hope to see some more speaker reviews in the near future, have a nice day, Danny!!
Hi, I have a Kilburn 2 portable speaker currently. And I am looking to stack up another Marshall speaker along with it to play songs on both the speakers. Can you please help clarify which all Marshall speakers are compatible to be stacked together with Kilburn 2?
Hey, Danny! Your review is amazing as always, thanks! I heard the sound of Emberton 2 and I loved it! I just want to get something bigger and more mature with the same amazing sound. Does Acton 3 have that deep, pleasant bass and realistic vocals? And one more question is it fine if I put Acton 3 next to me, like 3 feet. I'm not fond of loud music so I prefer quality over loudness. I mean, does it also sound good at low volume? Or maybe there's a better alternative for me?
At a certain point there are a lot of speakers that would be good for you. The Acton 3 to me has a wonderful sound, and far exceeds the emberton’s ability. Yeah if you are sticking with Marshall then the Acton III or Stanmore III (both the same for close low volume listening) are more than most need. You’ll like the vocals on it.
hi everyone. I have a pair of bose soundlink flex. I alway pair them whenever I wanted to listen to them. sounds great in stereo. how about these pair vs the marshall acton III alone.. ? which sound the best ? thanks.
I am seriously considering getting Acton to replace one of my Sony XB31. What I have right now I am quite satisfy with the sound quality and sound volume. It just that one of my speaker Sony XB31 keep on turning itself off. I am not sure if it is a feature function or sometjing went wrong with the battery causing it to shut down. Oh forget to tell you the line up. I got 3 JBL(2 of them is Flip, and one Extreme 3). Then I also get a set of Sony, 2 of them is XB22, and one XB31. With alll these works together, I am very satisfy with sound quality. But now, I just annoy a bit when XB31 keep turning itself off. So I am now eyeing this Acton. I have a question for this Acton(it may sound like a stupid question, but it is important part for my considering of buying it). The question is, will this Acton turn itsef off? Also, what kind of watts power it consume? I had extra air-con in my room which take away a lot of watts power from my elextrical outlet. I have to operating all other electrical equiptment to prevent the power overdraw that would lead to my circuit breaker to cut off power(it happen every now and then when I forget about the issue), then I have to go outside to switch the circuit back on, kinda annoying sometime. Thus, I am more mindful of the power require to use any electronic equiptment i buy. So, this second question, what kind of juice it will take while operating? I would be very grateful if you could help me with these two seemingly stupid question. Thank you. Oh I forget to mention. All these 6 speakers I use it as a home speaker, meaning I permanently plug in power on all of the speakers. Also, I do not use Bluetooth function on any of the speakers. I found using bluetooth it seomhow drain memory from my TV causing memory overloaded and TV re-start and so on. Particularly when use speaker sharing functions, memory driain pretty bad, I can hardly watch TV smoothly. I fix this by using "AUX" audio line split it to every speakers, and it work out very well, my TV hardly restart due to memory issues.
Been looking at the Acton 2 as I haven’t been able to find the original Acton but I will definitely be splurging on the Acton 3 now, thanks! 😁 (also hung around till the end haha)
Hey Danny, I have a Emberton II and it is amazing. Now I am kind struggling to choose between Acton III and Harman Kardon Aura Studio 4. Do you have any idea about these 2?
I have the original acton, what do you think of buying acton 3? Original acton is bad bluetooth connection😂 But I like sound quality. I can't decide. Thank you for the good video!
One Q for you is I am getting an Offer on Stanmore II which is cheaper by around US$ 120 from the Stanmore III but more or less same as Acton III. Which one to go for ??
Great video presentation you are the Marshall spokesperson your favorite these do look like home speakers the Emberton is more my speed. I’m glad to see new speakers entering the market place.
I like that this review is straight to the point and not a 18 minutes art show!

Is acton 3 wired?
@@TGR-00000 Yup! After 10 mins I think it automatically disconnects.
What about the bass? Is it good? Is Acton 3 pretty much better than emberton or is just a matter of sound power?
How this speaker hold ups when compair to bookshelf speakers of same price range??
@@gaurryshankar Yes
The acton 3 is incredible, got it yesterday from watching your reviews and others. I still can't believe it sounds this good. Also the analog look gives a great touch at home.

Wow, a sound review that actually dives into sound quality right away. Awesome review and deserves more views
Just bought an Acton 3 literally a few hours after watching this. LOVE IT
Thank you for your video! I purchased three Acton III speakers during the Black Friday sale (one of them is a gift for my dad). I am absolutely in love with the Actons - the sound is truly beautiful!

The Acton 3 definitely for the win, it’s just sounds more richer and clarified than the other 2 in my opinion

Nice and easy to follow. Love your work. I just got the acton 3 today.
thanks for the review. I was thinking of buying the middleton but as i wont be going out with the speaker, so I chose the acton 3 instead.
I was set on the Middleton then I jumped up to the tufton now I’m nearly set on the Acton. Thank you for all your videos!

Your link for the Marshall Acton III doesn't work. Just goes to Amazon home page. Same with the Stanmore III. FYI
Waiting for my Acton 3. Can't wait to use it

For me the Acton 3 was best sounding. But are they any better than the amazing studio spkr with 100watts and 3d sounds.
The speaker from Marshall that can fit into any retro TV shows like Stanger Things. Good for pc speaker or better to get bookshelf speakers instead?

Why Marshall Acton iii when connected via aux port, the sound is way way softer than Bluetooth connection?
Hey - Thanks for the video! I have an audio technica bluetooth record player. I assume this pairs up? My old JBL speaker does
I think the stanmore has the RCA inputs. this is just an aux input.
