Can I point out that Dante killing Sanctus in the opening level is basically the same as Jesus shooting the Pope

Technically the Vergil cutscenes are canon, it basically serves another hint to Nero being Vergil's son

At least yours competes well with somecallmejohnny's vs. Video, which is not a bad thing.‌you're coming a long way and getting better when it comes to reviewing.‌
By the way,if you're interested in starting a new series, mind I recommend you try fate?I know you might it's large series with no clear direction for where to start.‌
Well technically the best starting points for the series are fate/extra and especially fate samurai remnant.‌I highly recommend these two because they're good games in general

I watched a lets play of this game ages ago. I really like the story actually. Although mainly Nero, since he is the star of the show. And he even continues the family tradition of getting a devil trigger by getting stabbed. And also the tradition of stabbing Dante. I think the Sparda family has weird traditions. But yeah, Nero is basically just like his dad personality wise. Both have an insane inferiority complex and both of the try to compensate it by being obsessed with power. Although Vergils obsession is a lot worse than Neros. And I also wonder how Mundus never found Nero. You know? Spardas literal grandson? Although Nero was not a concept in the other games or maybe he just got lucky. Poor boy though. But anyway, Nero being like his dad and the importance of Kyrie is best shown at the start of the game. Nero only fought off Dante because Kyrie was in danger. If Kyrie hadn't been there, he would have just put his headphones back on and walked away in the sense of: "Don't care. Not my problem." So Kyrie may be the absolute damsel in distress, but she is what keeps Nero human by finally accepting him for who he is, even his demon side. But yeah, she is just an underused plot device sadly. At least Nero has a waifu who he shares a healthy bond with. Vergil may be his dad but we have no idea who the mom is. Dante has a few women in his life, but one is a copy of his mom and the other shot him in the head. I think Lucia has the best chances to land with him at this point. But yeah, maybe Dante should ask for Neros advice with women. I hope Nero and Kyrie stay together for the entire series. I want my boy to be happy. He deserves it after being put into a vacuum tupperware container inside a flesh statue. I'm glad you had fun with the game and I perfectly understand not wanting to see Fortuna ever again. You should watch the anime. It is actually really good. Especially that opening. And yes, DMC has an anime. I am trying to get the DVDs. In German. The dub is actually pretty good from what I remember. I love Anime Dante. And we also get an explanation why he is always broke. Have a nice afternoon my friend. I'm going to bed soon.

The way you describe Kyrie reminds me of Beatrice from Dante's Inferno (the game). Though her role there is largely as damsel in distress, it is the love for her that has Dante jumping ever deeper into Inferno, facing off more of his sins and seeing more of what awaits a wicked soul like his.
Throughout it he still wants to return to Earth with Beatrice, but at one of the lowest points of Inferno (and sadly, the game too gameplay-wise), he accepts that his place is there with the worst of the Sinners -for good reason- but begs upon the cross that Beatrice gifted him to celebrate their love, which he has carried alongside him as a weapon, that Beatrice gets taken away from the horrible Inferno, where a true kind soul like hers does not deserve to be stuck.
And that's when Dante gets his last chance to truly make the first step to redeeming himself.
      Quite a powerful moment.
