Mitsubishi MU-2 In-Flight NTS Check

- One from the archives. Every time a propeller is removed from a TPE-331, one of the required return to service checks is an NTS check - making sure that the NTS system (similar to an autofeather, but not quite) functions in-flight. This video shows the right engine undergoing an NTS test after the hot section inspection was completed on the right engine.
Despite all the hype, the MU-2 flies beautifully on one engine.

Flew the MU2s back in the 1990s and accumulated several thousand hours in it before heading off to the airlines. That sound brings back so many memories. Thanks for sharing.
I flew a couple of ConquestII & a Commander, both had Garrett TPE331 engines. Never had a prop off so never had to do that check.
Made me anxious watching, lol
Nicely done
Looked textbook to me. Great job & video.
Thanks George. I miss that plane.
I used to fly the mu2 marquise
Holding 150 IAS like a champ
FLEW N334EB with Thomas E Glotfelty…
Do you miss it?
Sort of, Tim. I don’t miss the what goes with owning an airplane. I miss the fun and satisfaction of a challenging day of instrument flying.
