It's not only Fords that have the issue with the seized front spring bolts. I've encountered this exact same issue with 60's Holdens. Any time I'm replacing these bolts, I always coat them with marine (waterproof) grease. In fact, I use marine grease on a lot of fittings that are exposed to the elements. The project is progressing nicely. Looking forward to the next episode. I wish you had more time to post videos more often, as it's a long week, waiting for the next instalment. But I know you have other projects that you have to do to earn your living, so we just have to be patient and wait for the next "Ford Friday", which is Saturday morning here in Australia when you post the video.
Nice touch - finished up with a standard Ford bucket seat - metal folding chair - and the convertible top up. Classic. Enjoyed the video. Can't wait until you marry the two "tangs" together. Will that make it a twanger???
I just replaced the shocks on my duramax yesterday and I swear they're the original ones from factory. Only saying that because I have a dually and the rear shocks are the same style. When you said I win when cutting the rear shackle bolt out all I could think about was grinding the top of my shock mounts off. There was no getting the bolts out. Bonus I didn't even have to take the tires off.

what's funny is: back when they was made they spot welded each of those welds with a big 2 jaw spot welder.......no robots then! Now the body parts go into a jig and a robot zap zap zap in minutes......

Just changed rear springs on my ‘68 Cougar. I feel your pain, except my frozen bolt was on the passenger side. Guess which one I did first and was expecting an easy job. I did not have an air hammer.

Beat you, used 2 blocks of wood today. One on the floor jack, one on the bottle jack. Both jacks under a Jeep TJ. While I worked under it. But they were only holding up the motor.
I feel like you took a roundabout way of removing the center of the car vs. Just running the sawzall down each side of the floor from the get go... But it is progressing well regardless.👍

What I gather is: he's going to narrow the 2015 floor pan to fit the 65 body allowing him to keep the 2015 front clip and rear suspension. Then weld it in place.
@@vehcor Well I can see you needing the rad support as it aligns the front fenders and grill, lower valance etc. Unless of course you plan to custom build a whole new one.... B is For Build found that the wheelbase on the 2015 was either a little shorter or longer than the 65. I can't recall which and his videos have been removed from some legal reason so I can't go back and figure out which. The front wheels weren't centered in the wheel opening. He was putting an Eleanor body kit on so he was able to mod the opening to fit.
18:00, Yeah, those bolts rust onto the steel sleeve in the rubber bushing it's almost impossible to get those bolts out. I had to torch cut the front of the springs off so I could torch the bolt close to the frame rail, and then punch the bolt heads out.
I wish I could see the whole thing as a binge watch like I did with a lot of your other builds once I discovered your channel. I say that because I'm not sure of what your plan is for what parts of both cars your planning to use in the final Frankenstein mustang.

Great video. Maybe you need assistance from the afternoon crew. Wonder how many man hr. it took you on this operation. I went thru a similar project of restoring a 67 Mustang. I left the original body and just repaired the rust and used the same engine, trans. etc. I worked on it for over a year. It turned out ok but did not like the way it drove so sold it...Many thankless M.Hr. spent no satisfaction. I believe your project will turn out much better for you....
The floor was the only real bad spot. I would say it was due to the windshield leak and constantly wet carpet. I’m trying to keep the safety experts happy. I’m just not trying very hard. 😂
no Harbor Fright jackstands? I think you missed a safety-expert-troll... but still, it was a nice shot. As far as bolt seizing.... C3 Corvette pivot bolt... I know this story well enough to recommend just start with a sawzall. There are good blades but they don't come from HF

Are you planning on using the backup system? I started watching "B is for Build" because he's also do I believe a 65 Fastback with 2015 frame. He 3D printed some sensor mounts, maybe you can sweet talk him in to sending you some if you were choosing to keep that setup.
That was one that didn't pass quality control at the FROD plant,normally you'd have to be driving it for it to randomly fall off,provided it wasn't spinning outta control over a curb into a crowd of onlookers

I don't think I've ever seen a guy remove an entire suspension and rear axle without taking the wheel covers off. Extra style points awarded.
I do it all the time. Little stuff like that ends up saving lots of time in the long run. I’ll take the style points though! 😆

Totally agree with you on those bushing with the inner sleeves, they are a universal pain in the ass, especially the ones on BMW's and Hondas.

I can’t drill a hole in plywood without ruining the bit. You drill out 500 spotwelds with two bits. I don’t know how you do it. Nice work!

I got lucky and my cheap 2015 doesn’t have those fancy gadgets. It does have a back up camera which I intended to use but that is a long way away.

Right across the floor behind the front seats and through the b and c pillars. The roof went with the front end for some reason. 😂
