  • A woman got stuck in the snow when ‪@Google‬ maps sent her down an unmaintained road while trying to get home from a day of skiing. Just like with most ‪@Subaru‬ cars, it did just fine until it bottomed out from low ground clearance. So I took my ‪@Dodge‬ ‪@RamTrucks‬ 2500 out to get her pulled out. It looked like a simple pull, so I hooked up my ‪@YankumRopes‬ and started to pull her out, but I got a little off track and slid over the edge. Luckily I had a ‪@harborfreight‬ Badlands winch on the back that made self recovery simple and quick. I then turned us both around and pulled her out forward to the pavement. After that we headed down the mountain and everybody made it home without further issue.

Cool set-up for airing your tires back up. You are staying on track with showing us recoveries and explaining them, and showing us the repairs of stuff that gets broken in the process. Some folks who have recovery YT channels have gone overboard with the family stuff and the recovery culture stuff. I like families and culture groups, but I watch for what you are sticking to. You do a tiny bit of other stuff with wife, daughter, grumpy, & Austin, and I like that, because it's... a tiny bit. Keep doing what you're doing, and thank you. If I sound grumpy it's because I'm stuck in an airplane factory in Everett WA and won't be able to escape for some time.

Casey nothing gets your goat. As a 30 yr truck driver, I have to admit how easy it is to get off the path backing up in snow at night. One nice thing with a 53 ft box, as long as you don't sink your drives, you'll probably yank it out.

i feel the same way about the red turd as you do about your truck. i love and only own 4x4's but i had a king ranch that was a 2 wd in great shape. so i bought a 4x4 that suppose to have a bad engine and rear end and planed on using it to turn my king ranch into a 4x4. long story short i got it cleaned up running good fixed the E brake and the A/C worked so i just started driving it. and 13 years later i'm still driving it. and all it needs is a new front seat.

Like your dual tire inflation system - nice setup! I, too, am driving a car that I love to drive, even though it's now 14 years old with 200K+ miles on it. I know part of the reason I like driving it is that I like its looks, it handles well, and has a reasonable amount of power to do what I need, and is a good road car, important in California, Land of Freeways. It's also a land of farm roads, back roads, and mountain roads, which this car also does well on. Good rescue, even if you did go off the road!

I'll even take their hurricane line of drills over dewalt or craftsman. That is a really good setup to reinflate your tires. I actually meant to ask you about that a few videos ago and forgot. I was wondering if you used one of the small air compressors that you plug into your vehicle. I know from experience that those take forever to do the job on just one tire. Can’t imagine for all four tires. I’m glad you showed how you do that. Thank you. Stay safe and God Bless

Also, how is it from a cost standpoint (up here in Vancouver B.C. a 20 lb tank like you have is close to $50 a fill with taxes etc...) is a tank good for many fills or are you basically done after 4 tires? .....Thanks.... btw.. keep up the content.. 47 years ago I cleverly slid my 72 Power Wagon with chains on all 4 tires off a patch of ice and over a 50 foot snow covered embankment sideways into a small creek. The Dodge did not have a winch. It was near dark and I was 3 miles past the gate on a fire road in the Colorado Roosevelt National forest on a Sunday evening and it was getting dark. So I started walking.
A half hour into my walk of shame I was overjoyed to meet a guy from a Jeep club tooling up the same road, and he had a winch. He hooked to a tree and dragged the Power Wagon sideways up the bank and back onto the road.
I took back all the insults I had been entertaining about Jeepers going out on a weekend in the National forest to see how totally they could get stuck and then spending the rest of the afternoon getting their buddies out of the muck.
By the way one of the most dangerous times to be operating a heavy tracked vehicle is on a sloped patch of ice. They can slide sideways like they are on ice skates.

That wet heavy snow is nasty. It is basically water and ice. If there isn't ice under it, it can turn into ice very quickly, especially if you spin your tires, which often you can't avoid. Not fun. It is not surprising that you went for a ride off the road in that stuff. That type of snow causes so many accidents. Give me a nice dry snow, if there must be snow, any day over that stuff. Your pickup did very well pulling that car out given the kind of snow you were on.
