Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Kitee. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former lead singer Tarja Turunen. The band soon picked up drummer Jukka Nevalainen, and then bassist Sami Vänskä after the release of their debut album, Angels Fall First (1997). In 2001, Vänskä was replaced by Marko Hietala, who also took over the male vocalist role previously filled by Holopainen or guest singers.

When you are young, an hour is such a big part of your lifetime that it seems to take forever. And as we grow older, an hour goes by in a flash... just a whisper of a lifetime past. For a small child, such a long song with this complexity is simply overwhelming. I was 10 when I heard and saw Nightwish for the first time (2013 Wacken) and I still remember very well how much Ghost Love Score had overwhelmed me.

As others have suggested a good Nightwish song for Myla would be Storytime. Also I Want My Tears Back from the Buenos Aires concert. I think Myla would enjoy watching Floor dance around on stage.

Good job, Dad. Doing good! I was taken to symphonic concerts as a child while my "usual" music was approx. three minute songs. These days 10 second tiktoks are too long for some!? Teach them young. Patience and appreciation for talent. Floor is Dutch like Fleur is French = flower! Both Tuomas and Floor thought about becoming biologists when they were younger - give them an honorary for this Opus? I reckon! That was precious. Trying to explain evolution to a 9yo, who is convinced that God created the earth is a losing battle. She will figure it out eventually on her own. I also believed when I was that age. I'm 80 now and like George Carlin said, "If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed. Results like these do not belong on the résumé of a Supreme Being. This is the kind of stuff you'd expect from an office temp with a bad attitude." Was feeling a bit low tonight. Thought I would check out some Nightwish as they always lift me up. Little did I know I would be overwhelmed with joy at seeing such a reaction. Two wonderful humans (especially Myla, of course) demonstrating perfectly just what Nightwish are all about. ❤

Please explain to the young lady that in her country's language "Floor" means "Flower".
