Both are very intelligent men, both are skillful tactitians, both love their other half. I believe once Eobard gets his memories back, he's going to help his future self and now he will also get his powers here. You can almost see why he was about to become Reverse Flash. Barry had so much anger towards him and being aggressive. You saw how he was starting to take it personally. I believe he will wake up and become what he's meant to be.

But because he is an anomaly to the timeline, and was never born, but he is still necessary to the creation of the flash. So I think the time wraiths kept this version of Eobard alive and memories wiped to live his life till the future, to keep the timeline intact. Then until the 23rd century or 2024, that is when he finally awakens again. Or maybe like the comics, slowly he becomes a fan of the flash, but always had his doubts maybe because Barry was demanding that he was the reverse flash. And he sees Barry as a villain not fixing famine and war and so on as he says in this episode. Then when he says he was going to make his debut to save a group of people like 8x05, Barry stole his show. Then it was then that Eobard accepted his fate, his past that he is indeed truly always destined to be the reverse flash like the comics, whether he's in prison thinking of it or whatever. The negative speed force also is interestingly interpreted this episode. Whether it's lazy writing that all negative speed force users are like reverse flash or it's what drives Eobard's hate. It seems that it has a life of its own. Meena doing the same actions and having the same thoughts of killing Barry when she doesn't even know him. It's possible that the negative speed force has a hate carried over from Eobard that it has become it's own, and when speedsters access the negative speed force, they access his hate for Barry. Even though Eobard was a good man, but it is because the negative speed force get in and over his head, and they chose him as the avatar of the negative force just like Barry is the avatar/king of the Speed force, which led to the creation of the Flash. Just like the lightning chose Barry. It's all a time loop. If he's in prison he could potentially meet Godspeed and he teams up with him, referencing back to the newspaper in the still force, where it says Zoom and Godspeed causing havoc. Even though the picture shows zoom, but it's possible that it is Eobard thawne and not hunter Zolomon because earth 2 characters from season 2 doesn't exist. That part is confusing. But you get the rough idea of Reverse flash's twisted origin. He is anomaly, a time loop reliving his life over and over again, just to keep the timeline safe.

I have a theory of how it might be the Positive Still Force: each of the forces we know were created to have an avatar, something -- rather someone -- to provide stability to that specific force of nature. When Thawne, the original Thawne, created the NSF, he theoretically became the avatar for the NSF, thereby making it stable, which in turn provided balance to the multiverse. Now, when the SF was reborn, three new positive forces were born and conversely, so were three new negative forces. Each new force needed an avatar to make them stable, but I'm guessing that after Thawne's consciousness was expunged from Nash's mind, the NSF went dormant, and when the 3 new positive forces were born, their negative halves were also dormant. Until, that is, SF Nora connected with her negative side, which therefore woke them up. When Barry severed Thawne's connection, the negative forces became unstable, and are now leeching out and affecting the other forces. My theory is, because all of this happened, Deon is trying to reconnect Thawne to the negative forces so as to reestablish balance to the universe. Adding to this is the obvious target for the negative forces new avatar: Iris. Why? She was the emotional anchor for Nora, which ultimately left behind a residual trace to her. As Deon tried to cure her, the negative forces began assailing him, so he places her inside the Still Force to shield her, since he's probably the best equipped to fight them. But, he can't take much more bombardment, which is why he's trying to help Thawne. PS: this entire theory popped into my head within the last few minutes and I haven't seen the whole episode front to back yet. Also, I have no idea if this backs up with any of the comics.

For someone that only has watched snippets tell me if I am wrong about this; Both the speed force and negative speed force have the same effect without having a "lightning rod" as Barry says, you're not able to reach max speed and you lose control but for different reasons.
1:00 cool shot of Barry throwing a lightning bolt while jumping off water 100% totally didn't cause unaturally high tides. 1:23 I like how Barry asks his friend is she ok after sending her flying back onto land while both of them are going fast enough to run on water and generate electricity. Since Barry took like an hour or so for his arm to be regenerated after being broken in season 1 then she is like dead in this season since Barry is like very much more faster than in season 1, so she is like 2x dead at this point, ain't no healing factor that can make her soul come back.

Okay Deon didn't betray Barry his body was taken over. In Into the Still Force a collection of temporal isotopes sent Nora into the still force, the isotopes were identified by Nora as Deon and they had his voice, indicating that he isn't in control of his body. The only thing that could potentially take over the Still Force avatar's body is the Negative Still Force that is who/what we saw at the end of the episode.
Wow! CW just gave us the Full story of the Reverse Flash's origin. In the original timeline where Thawne didn't have Mena he used that device and got corrupted by the negative speed force turning him into the Reverse Flash. But in this time line he met Mena And her influence not only helped him built the device faster but influenced him to be more selfless that he would let her have the power something the original would never have done, she became his Iris West.

@@Kaay6_ the new Thawne was the flash point Thawne that Barry pulled out of the timeline, the time wraiths took him and brainwashed him over thousands of years, he became a neutral character. He died in LOT but apparently they saved him again to help the new speedster 🤷♂️

Both the speed force and negative speed force have the same effect without having a "lightning rod" as Barry says, you're not able to reach max speed and you lose control but for different reasons.

Since Barry took like an hour or so for his arm to be regenerated after being broken in season 1 then she is like dead in this season since Barry is like very much more faster than in season 1, so she is like 2x dead at this point, ain't no healing factor that can make her soul come back.

Season 8 and parts of Season 7 have fully brought me back to the show. Nothing can beat the first season, but this comes close.
Pft a few of the first season were the best . Maybe all the way up to 4 or 5 then it fell off a bit . But season 7 and 8 has some good parts where it really draws you in for sure.

Wow! CW just gave us the Full story of the Reverse Flash's origin. In the original timeline where Thawne didn't have Mena he used that device and got corrupted by the negative speed force turning him into the Reverse Flash. But in this time line he met Mena And her influence not only helped him built the device faster but influenced him to be more selfless that he would let her have the power something the original would never have done, she became his Iris West.

I think the universe needs Reverse Flash / Negative Speedforce to maintain balance because the timeline already screwed up a lot of times. Just like when Barry asked Thawne to kill his mother again, the negative speedforce shouldn't be taken from Thawne.

This was a really good episode, I'm glad they didn't drag out the new speedster's identity for six epsiodes while Barry tries to figure out who it is
It's kinda eh. I mean what's the point of introducing a new speedster that is after only 1 episode probably not gonna make a difference in the story and never be shown in the flash ever again... Bad writing. Also the show always makes flash never do the hero work but someone else and they save the villain with the power of "love" smh.
