Love what you did with that PSP. At first I thought you were going to reshell it, but what you did is way cooler. Now this is what I call a restoration. Great job!!!
Really the PSP is the predecessor to all the hand held consoles and hand held PCs we see today like those from AYA NEO and GPD. Used to own one, I think I still have it. Played Patapon 2 and 3 with it, Valkyria Chronicles 2.
the PSP is still an awesome handheld, you can mod them and 3rd party manufactures have made some awesome mods for it. you can get a ISP screen, better buttions, there is a microSD card to Sonys card so you can install all your games to that and emulate if you want.
Andrew, I am truly amazed and inspired by your ability to repair and restore old tech and give it another chance at life. Inspired by your videos, I am working on my own restoration project on my 9 year old Asus Laptop. Hopefully I can share the video with you once it's done. Cheers!
I ❤ these videos, I put them on while I’m working away on my pc and they help me chill. I always appreciate the high quality production, the great standard of work and the creativity. Great stuff Cat & Andrew.
I just want to say how amazing your psp looks, it’s giving me hope to revitalize my scratched version. I wish I could have seen your painting process, would love to do the same. Great content!
I really love how you restore electronics. The cleaning, the fixing... it's just so satisfying and inspiring. But you always paint them the same way I would like to see another type of painting or effect :D
PSP is my favourite handheld. It's impressing even now, besides a Nintendo DS, PSP is much better. ❤ Love your video, and please, try to find a PS VITA ver1 to restore.
Can someone provide a link to the theme he used at 9:49 ??? Great work as usual, Andrew! I didn’t think this could be salvaged at all when I started the video. The only thing I would have done differently is the painting, I don’t really like the meteor effect and prefer just plain matte black. Other than that, I think it’s perfect
Are you planning to mod the software, the PSP is a great option for emulating games. (Also you can download whatever game you want after modding it too. And SD to PSP is a great option to expand the storage.)
The plastic scrren lens on the original case can acutlly be removed. It just takes a lot of fiddling and some force to get off. You cant use harsher solvents like acetone because that will attack the sourrunding plastics, use isopropanol instead to loosen some of the glue. Aftermarket you can get an actual glass screen lens that fits perfectly in the spot where the plastic one usually goes. You just need to glue it there with some B7000 or similar.
I saw one of your other PSP restoration, and it instantly made me want to pick up my own PSP again! Sadly, soon I remembered why I put it away; bad L button (doesn't work), and it's just really unstable overall. It only turns on after what I call a kickstart (plugging into the charger and unplugging it). The screen sometimes doesn't turn on, but I can still hear sounds, etc. It's just really weird.
Dude that paint job blew me away, it looks so clean and well made, how did you manage to create that effect? Is there any tutorial I can follow in order to replicate it?
Do you offer repair services?? I recently found my old Daxter limited edition PSP and my control buttons aren’t working, and its not reading any discs. I’ve been looking around at places that can repair them but I figured it’d be worth a shot asking you if you can repair it, awesome video!
Hi bro, I'm using low pressure sprays, soon I will do video about modding and painting. But in shortly explained, first I do flat paint, than dust paint from little further and then very low pressure, not hard to do, just need very very little practice
Hey Andrew i appreciate your hard work and time spent for restoration, However please restore those things which can be used for another 1or 2 years down the line, restoring very old things are not of any use.
Hi Andrew! Hope you are fine. My laptop got damaged after a fall, can you tell me what should I do? It’s base is damaged from a corner and palm rest has cracks on both sides of keyboard. Should I change the palmrest and base? How much should it cost? Should I get it done from authorised Lenovo service centre or any third party repair shop?
wish I have your skills. at the moment I have a Mac Mini 2014 256 ssd that suddenly stopped working. i think the ssd has misplaced or smth like thatt. its an easy fix really, but without proper tools i never get to it. looking forward to get the tools in the nearest time. getting motivated watching your videos
Hi bro, soon I will make video about, I need to mod my laptop anyway :) Is not hard to do, just need good quality low pressure spray, I'm using sprays by Flame ( low pressure )
Maybe the laser head is dirty or the drive motor is stucked, this is more often problem. In more that 50% cases can be fixed easy, just if you going to lube some motor or rails to some CD drives use silicone grace
Love what you did with that PSP. At first I thought you were going to reshell it, but what you did is way cooler. Now this is what I call a restoration. Great job!!!
Interesting. I've seen several fake restoration videos about these, so seeing actual restoration is refreshing. Love your work.
Huh got !
With the same dirt all over :D
How do you fake a restoration?
@@Minecraftzocker135 you trash it first, then you say you found it in the just across the street
@@LenoxFilms i see, so the restoration isn't fake the thing is actually restored it's just that the story around it is fake

Old school Andrew videos! love it!
You right
The psp 1000 is without a doubt the best built psp, after that they just reduced the built quality a lot, nice video.
no way the psp slim feels way better built

That was great, mr. Andrew
The PSP is the best console I have ever owned and I miss it (its at home and Im in a different country)
the paint from the far looks like psp street for me
could you make a separate video on how to achieve such a texture with the spray please??
Yes, I'm planning to do dedicated video soon about painting and mudding stuff. My laptop need some mod and re-make :D
the paint looks really good

2023 and this psp is on the 2.71 version. It's kinda impressive
At first I didn't like the idea of the LCD being exposed, but it honestly doesn't look half-bad that way.
Love it!
It looks so sweet and beatuful now. Amazing work
Nice fix Andrew 😀
Parabéns pelo trabalho!👏🙂🇧🇷

He already did, if you look at the System Software it was 6.60 PRO-C. Sony OFW doesnt have anything after the software number.
Beautiful result, i wish i had the ability to do this to mine.
Not much hard bro, just need some dedication and time, you don't need magic or superpowers to do things :)
Well done, a lot of memories

That was very nice! I didn't love the music though, because it often sounded like it's glitching and it was stressful to listen to.
For me that high sounds irritate when he is talking so idk
I will find fresh music for future vidoes, thank you for the suggestion :)

Good idea bro
Please do more (console repair) like this😍
I will bro, I got one more PSP after this one, just need to check it
do a video on custom psp vita with all new parts or used parts
I will try find some Vita and Go, for now mostly that I know are still working pretty well
May i ask how you did that paint effect? Was it the paint you used or was it how you sprayed it? It reminds me of how cameras are painted! Cheers
Anyone knows how to REMOVE the MOTOR from the UMD Drive @ 2:57? What type of RIVET is that?
