This video made me fix my PSP that was given to me by my late Uncle 10 years ago. It wasn't working anymore and was just left in my parents trunk for years. Didn't have any 96% isopropyl so opted with the 70%. And after hours of cleaning (and repeating this video over and over again), I finally got it working again, and the nostalgia came in like a truck. Thanks for the amazing video!
I have both Vita and 3DS, but my PSP 1000 always have a special place in my heart. I just wish i could upgrade the screen to the new and better ips screen.
It's so beautiful. PSP was (and is) one of my favourite console, I actually just bought a new PSP metal gear edition. It kinda amazing many games still looks so great on original psp even today, 16 plus years since the original launch.
Purchased a used psp from a local seller for $30 a lil while back. Sadly, the state I recieved it in wasn't too ideal (case has mismatched parts, broken joystick, missing screws, and a umd case that wont close!) This has definitely given a great base guide for me to work with while I order a new case and parts :)
This makes me even more compelled to fix up my 1004. I have a blue/pink (battery cover is pink, the blue casing had no battery cover) 3000 but there's something just downright sexy about the 1000 that makes me want more than ever to restore it. The only issues with it are a broken display and a missing battery.
Hi man great work of this restoration :) i have a question about the isoprophyl alcohol. Can i use something else if i dont have isopropyl alcohol to clean the electronics? Also isopropyl alcohol does it help on something like ( repair the electronics ) or is just for cleaning??
Can I say, as someone who spens over ten years modding PSP consoles, this was a good good. Great clean up, I did shit my self when you put the motherboard in the alcohol bath, however it all looks good. Question? Did you use a Sony memory stick for the console memory or one of those double micro sd adaters? Another question. How many layers of primer, paint and clear did you use on the case? I've only painted psp cases a few times with two coats of primer, three of paint and three of clear. I did that for a few customers and it kinda held up.
I tried to swap the shell on my PSP 3000 recently. While trying to unclip lower button row, I ruined my screen (it was clipped in the other way it was in tutorial). I loved that console, best 10 bucks I ever spent.
some the other channel make a psp ultimate upgrade to change external battery and using ips lcd to make performance quality of display look more better and also make change rechargable using micro usb or type c....but thats ok because you did so good...for different content to upgrade and restore....5 star for you
Really?! One day I noticed my PSP buttons were a little dusty from inside and as stupid and naive I was when I was a child, I submerged the whole damn thing with water thinking it’ll clean it. Then I waited for like 45 minutes and started it. The screen at first was malfunctioning a little but later it worked fine and other components somehow worked almost perfectly . I still to this day don’t know how it survived .
What a wonderful restoration. While the colour scheme is not my cup of tea, that's just a personal preference. The quality of your work is outstanding and you should be quite correctly proud of what you achieved. Well done and thanks for sharing 🙂

This is so captivating. Love repairs and mods, but also the rudimentary English is really charming.
