My younger sister tried the caramel hack and for the next two days our house smelled like DEATH I'm so glad that this video is educating others to not do that. It's so nasty.
Epic Er, it’s not powdered milk, as you can clearly see in the video. And you can actually make a caramel-like substance by simmering an unopened can of sweetened condensed milk for maybe an hour or two in a pan of water. Presumably, the result is a lot like Ann’s zap-and-stir method.
@Gabriel Klenner Almost everything I see described as "caramel" has some kind of milk product (either cream or butter) in it. So I dispute your claim that "real caramel" is see-through.
@Gabriel Klenner In English, the word "caramel" refers to both preparations. It's simply wrong to claim that one of them is "real" and the other isn't: the word "caramel" means both of them.
you can make caramel with sweet condensed milk. leave the can closed put it in a pot of water, water must cover the can, and boil for 3-4 hours, keep topping up the water, and at the end do not open the can until its completely cool/cold. I have some light scars on my face from the first time I did this myself as a early teen.

I agree, they reupload, they don't follow the community standards for sponsorship, most of their "crafts" don't work and many of these channels belong to the same corporations, but they manage to be pumped by the algorithm and both earn a lot of money and "steal" the spot from more earnest creators.

As a breadmaker's daughter: who on earth would even think that bread recipe would work? I'd love to go to one of these channel's meetings and find out how they come up with half of this. "We need to make a video before sundown! Quickly, raid the pantry! Yogurt? Flour? We could pass this off as a bread recipe, right?" Just the thought of how this recipe came to be makes me chuckle.
Sentret Sparkle I am a baker, and I think they were running away with the quick pizza crust people like to make with Greek yogurt and self rising flour. Putting it through the food processor develops the gluten, the self rising flour helps with a little rise, and the yogurt provides moisture and a fermented flavor from the sourness. So that makes an okay quick pizza crust. But loaf of bread? I would never.
I'm just average cook, honestly they just makes all that recipe for entertainment and content...that yogurt and flour could just be a crust or something, definitely not bread...how the hell a bread so dense? 😂😫
I am not a Baker at all. I hate baking but will occasionally try something just to see if I could. This would of been one that I would have tried thinking the Greek yogurt would do something to it to rise. I would of thought it was more health food related and maybe not have a lot of flavor but would have passed for bread. They must see people like me coming..........
i recommend doing intervals of less than 3 minutes each time. it isn't safe to make a recipe just straight up over 3 minutes especially if you don't know what to expect, like melting butter because oil will pop up so do it in 15-30 second intervals

In Russia we usually boil sugared condensed milk to caramelize it. We literally call it boiled condensed milk. We just put unopened jar into casserole with 4-5 liters of water and boil it for 2-3 hours.

Get a large container and use it to cover whatever you're microwaving, it makes it so much easier to clean, as it is contained in the easier to clean plate and container and not the sides of the hard to clean microwave. My family has been doing that for as long as I can remember
Arceus Insanity Bro dont mean to be rude but thats literally common sense. Its not a special thing your family does, most people use plastic wrap or a plate to cover before microwaving.

I'm so glad that this video is educating others to not do that.

I know the same recipe is uses for gozleme, which is much thinner than a loaf of bread. It would also be using self raising flour or baking powder.
Could you possibly be Marinette?
10 minutes of anything in the microwave doesn’t sound safe lol
Yes 😅
You can make 1 cup of rice in 15 to 20 min... but I think that's the only long-time-prep thing I've made consistently in a microwave ... 😋
i recommend doing intervals of less than 3 minutes each time. it isn't safe to make a recipe just straight up over 3 minutes especially if you don't know what to expect, like melting butter because oil will pop up so do it in 15-30 second intervals
The microwave caramel recipe I use takes two shots of three minutes and uses more than just condensed milk

The Greek yoghurt and flour “dough” actually makes a really nice quick pizza base! We put some herbs in too and make flatbreads with it 👍🏻 but it would never make a good bread loaf

@@newspacia wow, how could 5,000 years be boring? Also it's millennia. Unless you mean millennials. Also what you said was not funny at all.
Anyone else think it’s really impressive how much effort Ann put into using the same camera angles? Pretty cool
Edit: Came back to 950 likes. Glad you guys agree :)
@JewTube - Censor Yourself. Or we'll do it for you. still impressive because thats a lot of dedication

Let's be honest, we never tried to do some 5-minutes craft hacks, we just watched the video, because we didn't have anything better to do.
yup
So true 😅
Me and my friend actuallytried banana and nitela toast it worked and it was delicious
Exactly 😂
Yesss agree she shouldn't over react ruining my luv for the funny 5 min craft don't over reacttt just for fun when i watch imma unfollow her
This should honestly be a series on netflix
You should update your name. You don't have 69k subscribers anym..... Ohh, I get it now.
@Isabella The Idiot
I don't agree that the soda can popcorn recipe was dangerous. Pouring fuel from a bottle directly onto a flame is very dangerous, but the video assumed that people would know not to do that. Is every cooking video that uses knives dangerous if it doesn't include a tutorial on knife safety? I don't think so
@Isabella The Idiot I'd watch that
@Isabella The Idiot u shud quit ur job and sign up for a producer at netflix. Hot damn

You my friend, are a genius. Make sure to get your coin, if this idea ever comes to life. I better see your name in the credits as Executive Producer
School and College: Plagiarism and Self-Plagiarism is the highest form of informality and is highly looked down upon.
RUclips algorithm: Sorry couldn't hear you, what was that?
If you wanna get technical, Plagiarism ist just plain illegal and Self-Plagiarism - while not illegal as you can't steal from yourself - is deemed to be highly unscientific and therefore considered as sloppy.
It is technically against youtube's rules to reupload content (including your own) but it seems like more and more often they only choose to enforce rules only when it's convenient for them to do so.
Debunking, one of the noblest pursuits of mankind, would suffer without the Fair Use of the material being debunked.
Water? With a cookie? A dry cookie? NOOOO! You need ice cold milk! It’s against the law to drink water with a dry cookie.
Secondly, Mrs Reardon - I LOVE your videos. I love how you use your education to not just make great recipes but to show the science behind the recipes. You are awesome!

Eleven11_ _Eight8 yeah who is Dave
I can't believe how wise Ann is, like able to take these things in stride, and just fight it with another video. Like being SOMEWHAT accepting of the videos copying her hard work.
"Look they copied my hard work, (chuckles)." I would be banging my head against a wall and screaming. Holy cow.
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, as well as she was probably overjoyed that they actually had one working recipe for once even if it was hers
@@brendonharadon7728 No I think she was a bit furious but as mature as she are, it's best to just keep calm and carry on (in her case, make video about it.)
@@pinkinglily6447 No, I don't think she was furious, more bemused. Not everyone needs to overreact

I randomly got one of the debunking videos suggested on my front page and now I cannot keep watching them! I love that I am learning so much about food/cooking/baking, so that with each video I get better at predicting what the reason is why a "hack" or recipe won't work. Understanding more about how the specific ingredients contribute to a recipe also helps me get more creative and competent in the kitchen, for example when I want to adapt a recipe for different dietary requirements or flavor preferences. :)
