Legend. Nobody else putting up live tracking sessions.
Devin Townsend does sometimes
@@Prog4Prog oh nice. I didn’t know that.
These are actually live? They’re okay with people hearing the record before it comes out?
@@snapascrew No it just says live because it means John Browne is alive.
@@snapascrew "Streamed" yes, they track their unreleased/unheard songs live. Andy does vocal tracking on Twitch, as well.
I’ve waited so long for this riff to be officially put everywhere
It's everywhere now 🤘😁👍
John is so talented and creative.
Well hes certainly talented lol
As a guitarist, one of my favorite ever experiences was recording in a studio for the first time. Just the whole process, sitting down, focusing up, getting things absolutely perfect, everyone hearing things back and cheering at how great everything sounded, the hype building up... it was just a whole deal. I love recording.
Also loving the design of the new Schecter ;) Very tastefully done. If you release an import model at a mid-range price, I suspect you'll sell a ton of em.
Monuments tracking guitars in Reaper gives me hope that I can one day create something 10% as cool.
He's a beast playing guitar.
32:44 till 33:52, bro is in the zone. So fucking cool to watch.
Dude this is why monuments is my favorite artist of all time no competition. keep up the good work john, I never get bored listening to you play.
These ae the best videos. Great insight. Just when I was wondering if they were taking time off after a long tour...they are already tracking new tunes. Going to be a great 2023 🤘🤘🤘
You should listen to more artists, lol.
Pierre Danel absolutely destroys Browne
who we each like is subjective, if you like pierre more then john good for you, and if you dont also good for you. Still both fire players@@hcaz5818
Totally different style player. He's more of a Tim Henderson style of tone. JB's riffs hit much harder. Too each their own 🤘🤘🤘@@hcaz5818
I can’t tell you how much it means that you share such intimate moments with your fans. Creativity is sacred - and you’ve pulled back the curtain. Thank you and keep shredding!
Super super stoked for this new song to come out .. definitely a banger
I could listen to this all day. Is there a live John Browne channel that plays tracking, all day, every day?
Finishing that monstrosity of a song under 3 hours is just goddamn impressive
we need more bands doing this, fuckin awesome
Agree with this 100%! Browne is a master riffer.
I've always played amps with moderate amounts of gain and maybe a boost pedal so you can get all those juicy dynamics of wacking the strings or backing off. Adjust the gate to taste...then layering different amps for more girth. 🤘🤘🤘
I'm a Monuments fan for like 5-6 years and I have to admit that I have a subconscious feeling that John is a very very cool guy to hang out! I don't know why.
Looking forward to see you in Greece guys!!! 💪🏻
Met him this year he is so nice man!
Oh yes! I met him and Olly in 2019 when Monuments was played with Periphery here in Chile and what a nice guys.
I can’t wait to check out the signature Schecter model. You deserve the success!
Is he making one?
@@dementisband a lot of us think he is because none of the Facebook groups can identify that model he’s playing.
@@dementisband we think it’s a prototype sig
@@dementisbandmy comment aged well!
I saw Andy's stream, then I saw Malyan's stream, now I'm seeing your stream. I'm watching this song get crafted in real time
Thank you for relisting this live stream.
Dude's playing is so fucking tight. It's insane.
I've never seen anybody tracking in the studio before, thank you John and Adam :)
I have never watched one of these "tracking" videos before because I always assumed they would be kind of "boring". I always thought "who wants to listen to someone play the same parts over and over trying to get it just right", but boy was I wrong!!! I really enjoyed listening to and watching this whole process. Now I'm looking forward to watching the other one on Riffhard (assuming it's different than this one).
John, you are a talented beast.
New Monuments already, no way, I don't believe it. 🤔
love the balance between the low end road king and marshall high mids and top end.
God I can't wait for the details on the Schecter! Welcome to the fam!
Has he moved to schecter?
@@arindamTFT Yes guitars officially announced this coming monday but they have leaked!
I could watch him play all fucking day. I can tell he loves what he does, and I hope he knows we're grateful for what he does.
So happy this has been put on as evergreen content. Cheers Browne!
Great to see some insights of this recording process. Thanks for sharing.
Such a remarkable musician!
Love this. John you never disappoint on the riffage and songwriting! Would love to see more of these sessions
Awesome man, thanks for letting us check this out!
Browne is basically my dealer at this point. Supplying the beautiful stuff I’m addicted to, as quickly as I can stuff it into my fat face (or ears whatever).
25:38 that gave me chills
hello sir love seeing you here
Phenomenal stuff here, great playing and that Schecter sounds amazing!
Bros I would watch every second of a John Browne stream on TWITCH like this.
Why can I get lost watching this for hours. Tone is crazy.
Another potential banger! Love the overall atmosphere of the track! Can't wait to hear the final version.
I have a question in regards to a few chord choices if you have a moment John, would you elaborate a little on why you chose to use these chords in the chorus? 14:55 and 14:57
cuz it sounds good😈💯
Those riffs are just top tier
Sounding so good. Cannot wait for a new track
i dont feel so bad for fucking up when i play his songs so much anymore lol
An audio engineers favourite phrase in the studio “okay, just 1 more” 😂
Ahh I see you un-hid the video when Nefarious came out. Love the new single!
Complete freak of nature on the axe!
Sounds sooo awesome. Holy shit! Can't wait for new Monuments.
You've really outdone yourself with some of these riffs John...
New song? Sounds great. I like this one
awesome!
honestly can't wait! Looking forward to new music!!!
havnt seen a mode4 for a long time. wonder if that gets used much. love watching this process pretty cool to see
omg I am so looking forward to this man
Man! Great Sounds! What Shecter guitar model is that? Keep it Up!
Whatever it is it will be much more affordable than a Mayones! Bonus!
34:34
Signature schecter tao
sick riffs Loving it.
That Schecter sig looks so tough John. Please if you see this do me a favor, when these drop and they release the import and custom shop models, please make sure there is a custom shop version of this guitar cause I will buy the hell out of it. Its gorgeous.
Is that his? I assumed it was a KM, but maybe you have more info on what happened with Mayones if that's the case. Cheers!
@@jonathanshaver3001 At this point its speculation, but a few people on SevenString noticed that in the Cimmerian riffhard playthrough, John was playing a schecter that looks like his purple Mayones signature, so he may be in the prototype phase of switching, or maybe he will maintain a relationship with both companies.
@@jonathanshaver3001 I thought it was a KM as well, but the body isn’t thin enough and the control layout is slightly different (missing a switch.)
This is so sick!
Those are some TIGHT takes, my man!
man this is so awesome, thanks for doing this!! I wish every band would do this!!!!!
I'd love an instrumental version of the album if you can!!
Reaper for the win
HOLY SHIT IT'S ADAM from REAPER!!!!!! LETS GO!!!
This is so awesome!
What's up with the Schecter and do I hear a little Barretto in there?
love the groovy riffs
absolutely epic
Cheers from Canada !!!
Omg! Amazing!!
52:03
At least we can actually hear the riffs here... lol not completely buried in a mix
very colorful audio files/tracks
Any idea how they're doing this on reaper? Also why is the guitar track 3 lines? I get one is stereo but the upper one is what?
@@dementisband not a reaper guy I use logic - there must be a setting in track/audio files for color of file logic has different settings for track colors - as far as the 3rd track must be a DI for re amping later -
The fret wrap is a must for the Tao guitar
What do the wraps do?
@@jeffburling7224 they block the extra ringing sounds from the head stock so you can hear the notes you play more precisely
However some people like that extra ring out, its all up to you-my friend
@@spongebob6664 I can see that coming in handy on this guitar. Shes got bark!
Yet another schecter! Please tell me you’re moving over, I’ve loved your signature mayos for years but could never justify spending that much money on a guitar. If you released a schecter sig I would own one in every color day one!
John is such a creative rhythm player - love his patterns very progy but soulful one of the best players I think -
Nice,
getting my studio fix!!!
This is so sick
Reaper Gang, gang gang!
This man is the greatest guitar player on earth. No word of a lie.
This is kinda cool...Cheers!
i love you JUAN MARRON
Hon hon, Jean Brun
1:30:00 yes
What type of Schecter is that? looks great
wait a minute, is this like from the In Stasis recording sessions or is from new new new Monuments material? hahaha give me a moment to enjoy the last album hahah
New shiznits
33:35
Really hoping for a John Browne Schecter I’ve always wanted a mayones qatsi but couldn’t afford it but a Schecter jb import would be awesome
Wtf. I love how he’s like the vocals are putting me off sounds fucking perfect 😂
When does he say that? lmao
@@spineless_ 5:40. Guess the vocs different flow/accents were messing with the rhythms of his gtr section.
Exactly what he said yeah, the vocals are a cross-rhythm to the guitars and Browne needed to focus entirely on his parts relative to the drums.
Hi John ! I was listening to the riff hard podcast the other day and i was wondering if you can explain and show your Helix setup using the "Mimic pedal " for multiple signals and how you make it work with out phase problems and stuff like that. Thanks!
33:00
Bangin'
John how did you find the transition from Cubase to Reaper?
1mm Jim Dunlop gang 💪
That guitar looks sick. What is that model? Looks like Duvell but its not.
John's moving to schecter. Same kind of "marketing" that went on with aaron marshall. It's been a not so secret secret for a few months at least.
Is he using reaper?
2:22:32
Is he not in Mayones anymore?
My brain is sozzled
It’s good to see musicians trying, failing, trying again till they get it right. They’re just as human as everyone else.
Can you release this album without vocals also?
Yes please!! Instrumental album versions are so great in technique heavy bands!
schecter and reaper all the way!!!!!
Look at that using Reaper! :)
Shecter?
Wow how to achieve multiple color wav output when recording in reaper?
I didn't know that is possible.
John browne is tight AF!!
Spectral peaks
Thank you so much Adam Steel 😁
Last question hehe. I see that he recorded 3 guitar output in a single track. How's that? Thank you so much. 💙
@@Ac-wq4on 2 Outs for the different amps, 1 DI
what amp is this man using ,sounds amazing
Marshall 2203 with Legendary Tones Mr. scary mod, and Mesa Road King at the same time
what is this song? 🙏🙏thank youuu
What two amps are running here? The Marshall and the Recto?
Yes sir, road king I and JMP
