There's really no comparison! The C1 is a fraction of the price with slightly better blacks, thinner screen, better stand... oh wait, this TV is "8K" a resolution that no next generation console this far will output unless it's SS to and TAA to hell! A native 4K image is better than a upscaled image regardless of it being "8K". How can anyone want this TV yet? If it was readily available at a consumer level like the C1 I could understand those who don't know what OLED technology is like to go all out and finance such a TV but really? The same game features as the C1, same everything except the "8K" port! Please tell me why anyone not insane would pay more for this! I await anything that doesn't involve "ohhhhh it's brighter"... I want someone to tell me why, apart from potential brightness which is most certainly a given with it being a QNED, why, apart from this should anyone buy this? It's funny how its "8K" both in resolution and pixel count and even then, is it really 8K? With LGs contrast comment about the Samsung Q950R? A true test needs to be done as in person and on here I cannot see a difference! 8K content looks like the sharpness is on 50 when it's off... I just don't get why anyone would want this there's no Netflix or other streaming services that provide 8K and no video content on Blu-ray.. apart from compensating for something else hint hint, why? OLED still king in PQ in my book!.
@@SSNebula 8k is so pointless and worse than 4k versions in many cases due to worse brightness and uniformity issues

I've just ordered the 65 inch version of this TV. I have a 4k signature LG OLED which I've had for 4 years now and although the picture is amazing I have banding right across the screen which is obvious when watching. Had the screen panel replaced but banding issue happened again. Plus the worry about burn as I do play games. This TV will allow me to worry less about those issues whilst having a great looking TV with the added bonus of 8k.
I love this review and another great video. I would love for you to compare it to OLED for sure.

Would love to see this baby Vs. LG C1. Also, has LG said anything about VVR coming for the QNED99 later?
Thank you mate, I appreciate that. No news, but what's strange is the lower spec 4K model does have VRR, so not sure what's happened there.
@@SpawnPoiint Computing power to calculate an 8K image with VRR which is more than 120 images per second, without counting Dolby vision which requires a lot of resources.
That said it is not worse than SONY with these Mediatek chips, which cannot make dolby vision at more than 60 frames per second and again without VRR, because the Mediatek chips do not have the necessary hardware resources.

I have this exact TV, and I also have a 65" B1 OLED. The 75QNED99UPA I find to be an amazing TV. The color and clarity is awesome. In really dark scenes there is some blooming, and at times the four corners are a tad darker. But honestly that does not change my opinion of this TV. I love the B1 OLED, but the QNED's picture is simply better.

Great video as Always Chris... question! I just picked up a dirt cheap one and it doesn't have a button for full screen TV guide. Does this have the same issue?
I've just checked, and the 'List' button works as the guide button, press that then you can toggle full screen.

Yep! TV looks absolutely outstanding. I was surprised to hear it didn't feature VRR though. With Xbox having it and PS5 getting it sometime soon(ish) through a firmware update, I would imagine it might be a pretty useful feature this gen, specifically to disguise any framerate drops while gaming. So I would have thought a TV with such comprehensive gaming support (not to mention the price) would feature VRR.

The comparison would be great including in bright conditions. I'm waiting for smaller OLEDs to release later next year but I might not wait if the difference isn't that great.
You compare an 8K LCD which is used for a little blooming with a 4K OLED television, but already the backlighting that adjusts according to the brightness of the room, moreover in HDR source it is enough to put the Local dimming on Medium, this offers an 18000: 1 contrast ratio on HDR sources.
off at 10,000: 1 black is perfect.
Also absolutely no one has touched on the subject of the 97.5% Contrast Modulation of 8K models, which is necessary for 8K to differentiate it from 4K in terms of image sharpness.

OLED always the king
There's no 8k content. Also a upscaled 4k image to 8k looks softer your going from 8 to 33m pixels but upscaled which its not going to look as great as native by far. Also OLED atm is truly where its at i wouldn't have it any other way. This aint it
C1 is miles better
C1 is ridiculous. I've had mine for 2 weeks now and the quality is next to none

I love my CX but I'd love to see a Qned vs C1 comparison.
I have the lg c1 55inch and it's absolutely amazing with my PS5 and Xbox series consoles . I see no point of 8k as pretty much nothing supports it and you won't be playing any games in 8k . So don't even bother . 8k is to expensive and this tv isn't even OLED.

Great video! Please do a comparison with your OLED. I have an older 2017 B6 OLED which has horrendous burn in. Do these TV’s suffer the same. I’m looking to get a new TV, but I want to avoid burn in at all costs but not sacrifice on quality that much.
The one featured in this video is not an OLED, so it does not suffer from burn-in. I think the newer OLEDs starting from the C8 have a lot more burn-in prevention tech and the screen quality may be slightly better, so... you'd have less burn-in issues with modern OLEDs. Still, they are mostly gimmick software solutions. If you like to use the TV with brightness on full blast and in often bright rooms... even these newer OLEDs will burn in after a few years.
So if that's the case, I recommend going for an LED one instead. Samsung's QLED TV's come closest to OLED blacks and have the punchiest (and most saturated) colours. They also have VRR. But they have less accurate colour, drown out quite a bit of small details in the dark, have poor local dimming algorhythms and no Dolby Vision (instead just HDR10+). Sony's Master Series LED TV's provide the most accurate image and have Dolby Vision. And they drown out the least details in the dark, even less than OLEDs. They also tend to have the best motion and local dimming algorhythms. They do have higher black levels, but make up for that with being so damn good in almost every other way. I'm not sure if the latest ones have VRR, I think they don't.
I'm not sure how this LG QNED TV compares to high-end LEDs from these 2 brands. Going by the small review in the video, it's likely that it's somewhere in-between.
Yes do a couple let me give u a couple examples like OLED C1 VS QNED 8K , OLED C1 VS QLED 900TS SAMSUNG , QNED 8K VS QLED 900TS SAMSUNG

Looks amazing for a Qned and I would be interested to see a comparison with an oled to see if the gap in "blacks" has closed.... one thing that is annoying tho is that stand! Makes it difficult to use a soundbar especially if you are interested for the 86" model....
Wouldn't surprise me if LG came out with their own 'curved' soundbar that slots perfectly under the Qned99.
Adding that to the basket if I win the lottery 😅

Does it really upscale to 8K?? Hopefully Cpu processors will get a lot better with ML and upscaling to 8K within 4-5 years...when you were running Cold war on both this and your Oled I thought the pics looked pretty identical...please do a gaming and image comparison of games between the 2
