These were amazing! The custard is fantastic, the bread was fantastic. I just wanted to give a piece of advice I missed from the video... when making the custard make sure you have the heat on LOW or else you might scramble your eggs. Also make sure the butter+milk mixture is cooled before adding it to the egg/sugar mixture. Also, I only had active dry yeast, not instant. I proofed 4 grams of that in about an eighth of a cup of warm water and a big pinch of sugar, cut the warm milk down by an eighth of a cup, and it worked out great!

For me that would be not eating that raw yeasty dough in it's entirety lmaoooo I know I'm weird but I seriously can't help it, the smell itself is mouthwatering to me. Esp if you add a little cinnamon in the mix uughh

They are! I've actually made them three times before seeing this video XD would suggest using bread flour and mixing the (warmed) liquids, sugar, and instant yeast for the dough first and letting it get frothy. If the bread dough isn't smooth it has trouble sticking to itself and then you get custard oozing out onto your pan : /

You practically didn't let the yeast ferment your dough long enough. First fermentation is crucial; I'd let it sit, after kneading, 2 hours. Then divide and preshape; let sit 15 minutes. And then do the final shaping and let an extra hour of proofing. You'll get so much flavor from your dough. I'm going to make these and will let anyone interested know how they turned out.

I making these now 😬 The custard was fun but the heat was too high and I noticed and quickly adjusted before it became very much like scrambled eggs (still not sure if it's the correct texture but it tastes great!) I used corn starch NOT corn flour 👍 They are sitting like good little balls of dough until I have to roll and assemble them 😅 EDIT: Assembling was fun 😁 Definitely didn't pinch hard enough though, they opened just a tad but thankfully not enough to escape into the pan. Also: SUPER EASY TO BURN. I thought I had it, one side was beautiful. Next side was darker than the deep pits of a Tennessee cave. (stove was on 2) Oops. Tried again (1 this time) and they are too tan, like how some people look when they've had WAY too many tans and just don't look right. Last batch, can't fudge this up! (LO now) 2 minutes on each side and they are lovely. *Whew* They taste great! Not too sweet, the bread by itself I would consider to be a little bland, but that's perfect, because with the custard 😚❤️ Delicious!!

Pan-Frying : Cooking something in a pan (normally you put oil or butter so it doesn't burn, but without it, it's still called frying I'm pretty sure) Deep-frying : Directly cooking in boiling oil (Like french fries or chicken nuggets)

Nice recipe, just a little tips : you have to mix the corn flour with some cold milk before adding it to the eggs, so you won't have any lumps in it.
Well you strain the custard anyway so I don't think its a problem but thanks anyways

They did a pan-frying. Just not a deep frying.
Pan-Frying : Cooking something in a pan (normally you put oil or butter so it doesn't burn, but without it, it's still called frying I'm pretty sure)
Deep-frying : Directly cooking in boiling oil (Like french fries or chicken nuggets)
