This time I added four more chicks and two turkeys and although only two days old - I'm concerned. I found this helpful and don't know how I missed it last year - ALL of your videos are wonderfully helpful!
I just had my first chicken death. She was the first layer in my little flock of 4 that were born in May 2023. I feel awful because I wasn’t home and my daughter found her. A friend buried her so I couldn’t figure out what killed her. His guess was she was egg bound or pasty butt.

I started adding yellow cornmeal and a little of the game chick feed to the regular chick starter/grower feed and the pasty butt stopped.
She was enjoying the blow-dryer lol. She looked like she was calm so that's good. Pasty butt is a good thing to look out for!
How old do your checks need to be to give them grub terra?? At what age do you supplement feed for your chicks with greens or insects?
I'd like to kjnoiw that as well.
