I have some of those growing wild in the yard and those that are in the sun w/ room I will feed. they have tiny fruit now which is feb. I like those fruit a lot, too. and on the job if I was by a tree I would climb up in it and eat a lot. My one tree that is in a prime spot should do well from here on out as I removed the live oak tree that was encroaching. Love the live oaks but they don't go w/ fruit trees. had to remove one by my kumquhat tree also

I also have a loquat tree in a container. My tree is about the same size as yours and it flowered around January 2018 and I'm in southern California. I did give it small amounts of organic fertilizer 3x last year. My loquats are about the size of marbles right now. I think your tree is just not ready for production or it may need a little food. But yes, applying organic compost or even a simple organic fertilizer now, again in May-June and one more time in Sept-Oct is how I got mine to produce. I used Organic Epsoma Citrus-tone from home depot. A couple hand fulls on the top soil is how I applied it, but wear gloves because it does stink. Its been working great on my tree. Good luck!

Alex Ceja Hi Alex, thanks for sharing this information. That gives me hope. I just transplanted the Loquat video coming up. I feed it well all spring and summer last year. We did move over winter, so it has to adapt to its new microclimate. I got this tree last year. I want to say it was about a year old, so maybe its 2 or 3 years old. How old is your tree? Im sure it will fruit by next year. I was hopping to get some fruit this year 😭 becouse I love love love Loquats. Are you on instagram? Do you have pics? I would love to see your tree. Thanks again.

Ali Imtiaz Hi Ali, Loquats are pretty hardy they can usually grow in zone 7 -10. I am in zone 9b. They need well draining soil. Are you planning on growing in it in a pot or in the grown? If your local nursery carries them, they will grow in your area, plus buying it from your local nursery the loquat had been adapted to it's environment. I hope this information is helpful.
