    In 2019 I had a loquat harvest in Germany on my planted since 2013. This year I briefly wrapped them with air cushion film over the winter and put in a floor heating cable. It looks like some fruits will stay on it, so that there can be a harvest in summer this year in August.

    Thank you very much for that fabulous video, I would like to know where you bought your Gold Nugget and also what is the best time to plant a Loquat. I live in Surprise AZ, and I just bought a Big Jim at Home Depot today, I'm scared that summer is on the doorstep and the heat will kill it

    Very good video. Are Japanese Loquat true to seed? Cool that you are from Glendale. Meet my wife there over forty years ago while I was stationed at Luke. Now we live in San Antonio and I have my own channel.

      Gardener Mike in San Antonio from what I know it should be close to the desired fruit not sure if it will literally be exact!
      Thank you for your support I’ll check out your channel😄!

    Only thing I saw that could be improved is that you want to plant high and tight because the soil will settle and the root ball will sink down.

      You are right this was an older video I have actually removed the mulch and wrapped a pot around the trunk and put the mulch back over it

    Thanks for the tutorial on how to plant a loquat tree. I just bought one and was looking for info on were and how to plant it in my yard. I just subsribed to your Channel. I live in Tonopah, AZ. It gets colder out here than in the city. I have no walls or concrete or asphalt roads near my 10 acre property. I am trying to create a food forest and make micro climates for some of my more cold sensitive trees. I need all the help I can get learning how to grow things.

    • @HerbalLyfStyl
      @HerbalLyfStyl  6 лет назад

      Robin Lanter that is super awesome to know that this video helped you with your new loquat tree. I think Tonopah will be a little more difficult with other subtropicals/ tropical but loquats is smart since they don’t mind the colder weather!
      If you need any help with your food forest let me know I would love to be of any assistance feel free to message me!

      In this video I show we are at the understory of an old olive tree. So it gets afternoon shade while it’s young as it’s older it will move into full sun!

    Don’t plant loquat so close together I have 7 15ft-30ft loquat on my property they are huge and will combine near other trees

    • @HerbalLyfStyl
      @HerbalLyfStyl  5 лет назад +2

      Thank you for the tip! I plan on being very aggressive with pruning, I’ve been creating a food forest those trees will only be 15 feet max! I also live in Az which will definitely effect its growth.

      You're not kidding! I was planning too grow a couple trees in my front yard but the loquat grew like 10 feet and became very busy in a year. I'm in the Texas blackland prairie ecosystem.

      If you're vigilant and aggressive with your pruning, you can keep them at a manageable height
