The Tupolev aircraft company has delivered the latest TU-22M3 bomber to the Russian Aerospace Forces after repairs for "operation." This bomber is not for Ukraine which is basically just "over the fence" of Russia. With the range this bomber has, it is more likely for more distant destinations that Russia has the coordinates.

Since the TU22-M3 does not have stealth capabilities, it can only be used where Russia has air superiority. This rules out a mission in Ukraine from the outset.

The Tu22M series are of the same era a the Grumman F-111 but less capable and, in western terms, they are obsolete. Poor electronics both offensive and defensive, inadequate navigation aids, no stealth, a bombload of about 9 tonnes (like the long-retired Avro Vulcan) and as manoeuvrable as a cow on ice. No-one with even an ounce of sense would be afraid of the Tu22M. Watchful, in order to shoot them down, maybe, but never afraid. Serviceability is also suspect - especially in the current situation with a tech embargo on Russia.
I have a Finnish friend who was in the army, he often would exercise with Russian troops, he told me this, the Russian attitude to being a soldier was this, walk where you can run, stand where you can walk, sit where you can stand, lay where you can sit and sleep where you can lay. I doubt things have changed little from Soviet times.

The Tupolev bomber has an attractive design , regardless of its purpose.
Similar impression to the American Valkyrie bomber.
The American and Russian rockets of the space race looked good too , but different to eachother.
The engineers of the space race achieved their objectives using their own ideas and abilities.
The technology each side created wasn't necessarily the same.
