can you make video on LA pressure line as well? We seems to use it often on patient with PH

Thank you so much for this! I am a new grad starting in the CVICU. My provider was explaining why he was concerned about my pt having rising numbers and it didn’t add up to me. Very few resources are available that explain the why to these numbers. And what combinations of these different numbers can indicate! More of this!!

Awesome and congrats on the new CVICU position. If you haven't seen the rest already I've done a lot in this series just on PA caths so you'll have to checkout the playlist. Glad they were able to help things click for you with what you were seeing.

One thing that doesn’t make sense to me is why PA pressure would decrease with PE? I would think it would increase .No?

Completely understand the confusion as I certainly didn’t cover it well.
The effects of PE can actually vary based on where we measure, location and size of PE, and impact to hemodynamics. Some cases decreased while in others, as you expected, increased pressures.
I’ll probably end up doing an in-depth lesson on PE as it’s definitely a good topic to cover.

Diastolic PA is higher than Diastole of RV
(in 8 min. 40 sec. of video)

True, but if you only see the one waveform, we can't rely solely on the numbers as we can have elevations in RV that mimic PA values. The descending vs ascending diastole is the best indicator
