Hey mick quick fix without a welder. Drill the holes out m5/m6 tap the hole get a bolt tread it in with lock tight cut the bolt flush then drill a hole in the bolt. Or like the comments say weld it haha 😂
Drill out the holes and press in a small bushing. This looks like a well built machine. Reel mowers went out of favor here in the States decades ago. Now the only place you see them are golf courses.
Been watching your vids for awhile and love them! Ever think about giving us a tool box tour? Love those. Well keep making the great vids, and stay safe in this crazy world we live 8n!
I bet the clutch weights are made of cast magnesium alloy and can't be welded without specialist equipment! I find this quite often on garden equipment. Best bet might be a second hand clutch from fleabay, if you get an identical one and it turns out to have the same problem you could possibly use the good parts to make one good one. If you try and squeeze the spring down a bit do it slowly and gradually as they are hard and crack without warning. Don't use heat unless you know how to temper a spring!
Here is my channel wish list if you would like to show some support in purchasing some tools or spare parts, it is gratefully appreciated www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/13BO7QKGAZZV2/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_2?_encoding=UTF8&type=wishlist
JB Weld won’t work. Even a braze weld might not work due to the differences in material properties. Your best bet will be to source a new clutch pack. Regardless, further disassembly will be required. Good luck in your endeavors!
Do u know how to remove the small sprocket on the secondary drive chain. This is the sprocket up the top. My sprocket has stripped teeth but can't get it off. Thanks for any help
Good job mate, I’ve got this exact same brand mower in 20 inch with a Loncin 196cc motor on it only bought it Today as a matter of fact what do you think of those Loncin Chinese motors?….. any dramas..? All the best from Melbourne Australia .
Unfortunately the masport 400 and 500 both have clutch issues and a bad rap, people over here in aus have complained that they are going through clutches like mad, so i wouldnt waste your money because the same issue is likely to happen again.

Hi Mick, if all else fails maybe you could source a whole new clutch and drum assembly from another simular machine that has parts readily available.
Thanks you for video

Mick, One seller on E-Bay Masport Olympic 400 Clutch assembly. Pre used. Hope this helps.
Thanks mate I will have a look.
Hi mick, the alternative part number is 031912 and they are listed at shoulders of shoreham
It's listed as a clutch for a Mountfield but it's the same part number so it's a good bet is the same one.
All Mower Spares have it listed just under $150.00 Australian Dollars
@Rick Thelian hi Rick, yes I saw those , the shoulder of Shoreham is uk, I think it was 80 odd pounds
Hi Mick, I think you should weld hole solid Die grind it flat with a sanding disc and re-drill the hole.

Grub screw LOL have to remember that one. Is that the UK s verbiage for set screw?
Yes
Those clutches look like something that's going to take more than 2 hands to change springs.
Can't help with new parts. Personally I would bore the holes out bigger until round and put in a bush.

only bought it Today as a matter of fact

Hi mate They are ok...keep an eye on the oil and do regular oil changes..
replacing the spring is the last resort, I'd replace the whole assembly
Yes agree, well documented down Hear in Australia.
Maybe weld the holes and drill out the holes

find a local tig welder and then redrill the holes
