A contemporary medieval song. I composed this piece during a sleepless night. It didn't take a long time to write down the notes but a bit more to play them correctly.
Enjoy!

this one needs a newer record at 4k, almost 13 years and I still listen to this masterpiece. The only downside of this song is that it ends.

It has hd recording. 7 years ago yet
I think I like this one better
that's why God made the repeat button.
@@Vorkandor It's just not the same as a never ending song.
I ran across this when RUclips was still a bud of what it is today. still to this day have continued to purchase his releases new and old on every new platform I can. I took an entirely unnecessary but completely worthwhile 4 class addition in college just to be able to play along somewhat efficiently. I got two degrees from the military. but playing this song along with him is what makes me smile when I look back on what I learned. so damn great. sorry for the rant. just glad other people still come back to this
I used to listen to this all the time when RUclips was barely a thing lol
11 years since I heard this song, I'm still here listening.
Omg man you need to step away from the computer for a while.
11 YEARS!!!
Same man, I feel so old coming back to this video but it's too soothing
Likewise :)
This video inspired me to play guitar 7 years ago.

how can someone dislike this amazing performance
tururu rara heartless ppl ,they simply come and dislike every video.

because theyre jealous that they cant do it
back after a 12 year hiatus. still as good as back then.
I've never seen a man so happy doing something he loves
Wow I've just found this video on a playlist I made many years ago (called "Favourites"), when I was a teenager
There's a sense of nostalgia, many memories come to mind...
Especially from a friend I lost in 2015 and who also loved medieval stuff
I remember I told him I'd like to have this musician as my grandfather haha
R.I.P. Alex, thank you for everything.
And thank you, Frédéric, for this song
Greetings from Brazil (:
Acabei de voltar justamente nas mesmas condições Yasmim! Muita nostalgia!

12 Years later, and it still sounds amazing like day 1. Thank you once again for this beautiful piece of music.
12 years back I had this on repeat and it just popped into my mind that I missed it sorely. Fantastic piece that will always be a part of me.
Considering this was made 11 years ago, it deserves a like already. Not to mention the amazing music.
One of the first fingerpicking songs i ever learnt on guitar. I still have the sheet music on my pc that i purchased from your website. I will never stop listening! :)

I salute you Sir. Very few people are able to touch my soul.
This is just AWESOME! It's like I can hear it with my soul and not my ears.
After 13 years of not hearing it, I stumble upon this song by chance and still remember every note perfectly. Congratulations Frédéric,
This song is in my Favorites for years...

So many years since I heard It for the fist time. And now I heard that this video have 14 years and, like me, a lot of people came here! May searching for "medieval song" like me. Nowaday we have a lot of videos, videos with old songs, but I believe that Frédéric was one of the firsts to upload this song here, wich I think It is autoral. Congratualtions, Fréd - let me talk like this with you hahah! - cheers, kind regards and thank you very much.

I am a beginner at playing guitar, but i am breaking my fingers off just play it and i am starting to roll on with it! I want to play it so badly because the feeling that this song transmits to me is so beautiful. Great piece of art!

So wonderful to hear this beautiful music again ... a delight.
I find myself whistling the intro/outro to this piece while I'm at work.
Just discovered you and your sublime music, after finding Julian Neels amazing singing.
Great you both can share your musical genius in this way!
I will listen to all I can, thank you for this composition for now. It has made my life a bit better at this moment.
J'ai écouté ça chanson at 15 ans et est la mélodie de mes souvenirs. Merci.
(Excusez-moi pour mon française, je suis italienne.)
Epic guitar man makes youtube video of song from 540 years ago, but 540 years afterwards people are still listening to his video
I just spent 3 hours trying to re-find this video. I found this years and years ago and it still makes me tear up like the first time I watched it. You really are a fantastic musical artist and the amount of passion you clearly have makes my heart swell. I hope you continue to play on for many many many years!

I've heard this song 8 times straight and it's just stunning. Thank you very much Frederic.
meu amigo vc toca muito bem parabéns!
E o sentimento que vc passa na música é inexplicável.
Can someone please give me tips for medieval sounding chord progressions and scales? I'm having a hard time to figure it out.
D minor scale with 7th major before resilving in the tonic chord is a step to feel the sound
it just ends too soon....he needs to just play this into eternity!
absolutely beautiful. Love when you're plucking the harmonics along with the regular legato notes in the intro
reminds me of Skyrim
ome YESSSSS
I tried to learn this masterpiece. And then I gave up.
Never give up, never surrender.
I will tell you what! I've learned songs like this, and then forgotten them. Just know, it takes patience and practice. The results can be beautiful.
bro, like Oscillator said, never ever, ever GIVE UP,
I've been learning this song for about 4 years.. and I only have dominated like the first minute, but honestly I have never had the dedication to learn it 100% and to practice it.. but I want to have it full dominated by the ends of this summer, you only need practice, practice and more practice =) It's the most difficult and yet most beautiful acoustic song I know so far..
Absolutely beautiful.
Randomly thought of this video the other day, first time listening in 10 years and it’s still a banger, many thanks to you
Beautiful. But enough about me. The music was wonderful.
Sir, if i had a hat. Id tip it for u
if you're an atheist you can tip your fedora
Flody Alota Do atheists only wear fedoras? At any rate, he did a wonderful job!!
Flody Alota I'm a atheist and I don't have a fedora.
In Spanish play a character said: "I take off my cranium for I don't have a hat" 😁
This is awesome! I could listen to this all day!
i have listenened to this song so many times, and i will never stop either. It is such a great song!
this reminds me of Witcher 3 game a little
Actually this reminds me more of those town building strategy games. The Guilds 2 and Banished
Listen to this while roaming Skyrim
This is the first video from you that I watched, back in 2009. When I think of that time of my life, this song and "Melody in D" are the soundtracks of my memories. Thank you for that, and for all the wonderful music you give us.
Love from Brazil.
I've come back frequently since I discovered this, just about 15 years ago. Still incredibly beautiful and lovely to listen to after all this time.

Frederick hasn't uploaded a new video in 6 months, and he used to be prolific. Does anyone know if he is alright? It's very worrying what with the atrocities in Paris last year.
I'm quite worried too, I really hope nothing happened to this amazing man! If frédérick sees this please post or reply to this comment. We are all worried about you😭
He uploaded a couple days ago, so i assume he's alright ^_^
You are the reason I started playing the guitar one year ago. The emotion and feeling you put in your play is fenominal. I can read the passion off your face. Tres bien!
Gosh, I love this piece! Just beautiful!
I still listen to this.
2021.
So much emotion in his face. Simply, amazing.

Awesome work +Frédéric Mesnier
That was truly amazing!
This was the first classical guitar-playing video that I saw years ago as a young boy and loved everything about fingerstyle guitars. It was just back then classical guitars were not available in my city. After so many years I just want to say thank you! Because I didn't give up on my passion for music.
Such beautiful music! Fantastic and incredible!!
Beautiful...
isn't crazy,
how sounds can impact you so much,
how it can resonate through your whole body,
and give you chills..
I feel so satisfied right now.
Started listening to his music when he barely got the 30k Hits, and after a year i somehow hit him up again and there it is, millions of views.
Finally, the recognition he deserves.
Bravo, lovely, awesome!
