Everyone sleeps on the 6.1 and here you go doing it justice. Just doing the simple stuff such as a Legmaker CAI, Cam, Long Tube Headers, and a Tune will wake up that 6.1.
The walls aren’t that thin dawg lol. Crankshaft is already forged from factory. Drop in pistons, rods with a good cam and a good boost setup and you can make 9-1000 wheel all day with a 6.1.
@kevinturner3763 the 6.1 pistons are fine bro... alot of guys are running moderate boost on stock internals for years... i got 140k on mine I track it and drive the piss out of it.... only thing I ever broke was the lifter
@Jiggaboojoness Smh everybody isn't a real car guy. They think they know something because of RUclips but that doesn't make you a I know about engines guy.
@@jayknight139 no it isn't look up your local tune guy and see how much it is to sleeve the cylinders and change out the pistons and rods. Your better off buying a LS that's already sleeved and just switching the cam and getting a lighter car like what I got a Chevy Vega or a C10 or something lighter but not to light so it hooks good. Dodge engines are literally like third best you better off getting a coyote swap before you put a dodge engine to handle super boost
Sooo what I heard was get a 6.4 from a ram truck and convert over the front cover and accessories to BGE spec. I guarantee this is the cheapest way to get one of these under my hood.
This information is better than great I've seen a lot of fails mentioned in this very video because they didn't do their research and just wanted to slap something together for the track and some didn't even make it up to the track or broke it during a meet run anyways as I said very useful information 🤔🚗💨
the 6.1 is one of the strongest modern hemis, it’s actually the 2nd best behind the 6.2. The walls are not thin, they come with forged crank, all you need is forged pistons and rods and u pretty much have a high output hellcat.
That’s all 🧢 about the 6.1. My stock 6.1 been procharged for 100K miles. Car has 190K on it now and still runs smooth. The 6.1 was one of the best engines until the 6.2 came out. 6.1 hemi rods and pistons are perfectly fine... everything else spot on
And that’s a fact the 6.5 in a Jeep went 9.7 unopened motor he never built a hemi

Forget the 6.1 get a 5.7 and owners won’t have to worry about those thin ass walls
You can buy engine sleeves for thin cylinder walls and make the walls as thick as you want
@@redhunnid5142basically just turns it back into a 5.7 at that point . Might as well start with the 5.7

Remember there is replacement for displacement. Your engine block after your thin walls wear out combust and shoot a rod. Just boost it
