- Hey guys here we bring you another repair.
In this repair we have a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 4WD with a 5.3L V8 Vortec Engine VIN Z Flex Fuel!
I ordered the fuel injectors of eBay! So I show you how to remove the fuel rails.
Special tools needed are the fuel line disconnect tools which are little discs, plastic tabs that go into your fuel line to disconnect the clips.
This job is easy to do! Just take your time and be careful of what you are doing and everything will work fine
Tune up your Tahoe
Replace your fuel injectors
Replace your fuel rails
Clean your fuel rails!
Helps the system stay smooth!

This video is going to bring my Tahoe back to life!!! Thank you!!!!
I sure hope so! Haha thanks so much for watching!! Plus be sure to check your fuses to make sure your injector fuses are all there and working correctly 😊😊
I just did my injectors this weekend. Your way worked very well. I ended up disconnecting the alternator and purge valve solenoid. You get two thumbs up for this.
What injectors you used
Thank you man really saved me allot of money parts costed me around $765 and sum change tool around $25 and time wise to do it myself like 2 hours do to being my first time replacing them but pretty easy now thank you man keep them videos coming hope to see one that shows how to convert a drum to a disk now that would be an awesome video
This video helped me tons besides the fuel line off fuel rail but everything rlse was a huge help thanks for putting this whole video up with very little cuts. Props to you brother.

Very clear and concise video thanks should do able even for an old goat like me lol
Great video my man, you made everything visible and truly let us know how to replace the injectors A+++
sorry to be so offtopic but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?
I somehow lost the login password. I would love any tips you can give me!
@Rhys Milan Instablaster ;)
@Hayden Maximiliano i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process now.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Hayden Maximiliano It worked and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my ass :D
@Rhys Milan no problem :)
Great video man, if I can make one suggestion.... Get a GoPro that mounts to your head (like a head band) it will make filming 100times easier and able to see what your seeing. Going to replace my injectors this weekend got a lovey check engine code for cyl 4 injectors went bad this video definitely helped!
Should really lubricate the o-rings on the new injectors before installing them (clean motor oil works well). You can also purge the schrader valve (at 21:40) before taking the rail off. Air blasting the area where the injectors sit helps from crap dropping into the holes. Otherwise very detailed video.
You should have replaced your engine oil pressure switch when you had everything removed.(I only noticed on start up, your gauge is maxed out, definitely bad press switch, very common)
Wish I would have saw this a few days ago. Just replace my injectors without removing the fuel rail. This would have made the job a lot easier. Very tight on the driver side.
Yes you are right. The one thing I need to see you didn't show. How to disconnect the fuel line........
To disconnect the fuel lines you will need a fuel line disconnect tool you can find it at any auto parts store. It’s super easy to use. You kinda gotta grip the line push the tool in to reach the notches inside and the fuel line should come off... be sure to put a rag underneath to catch any spilled fuel.
I didn’t record it because I didn’t have the right tool. And a co worker just came by and did it for me while I was out looking for it. So yeah :/
Amazing
Thanks so much!

Thank you for watching
Hope you were able to fix your problem
Hi Mr. Hidalgo, Thanks for a great tutorial. **Could you please share the type of camera you used on this video. I am so impressed with your video quality. Thank you so much!!!
I know I thought the same thing when the HD kicked in I was like Dang lol
Lithium grease would've made it a little bit easier to install if you put some on the orings
Thanks for the helpful video amazing and clean work
But I need to ask you a question
What is the part number for these injectors 🌹
You're very welcome. Thank you for watching. We are glad we are able to help you out a little.
And to answer your question correctly. I would suggest reaching out to your local dealership. They will provide you the correct part number which you can then use to search online for cheaper prices. 😉
Do you think this would be a similar process on a 2011?
Is it the same for newer vehicles like my 2017 Silverado?
Great video! What was the purpose for changing them out?
@wolfmane...lol,that's good one broh😂
Would this process be the same on a GMC Sierra 1500 6.0? Im getting that same code P0200 it said "Injector Circuit" but doesnt specify if its an actual injector or the harness.
the process should be very similar for the most part. however I have only done it on this particular vehicle... also, you may want to check out your injector fuses, and all your fuses just to be sure nothing is out of order. you will be surprised at what you may find.
@@HidalgoMotorsCo I'll do that, thank you.
How difficult is it to remove the QD fuel fittings WITH the correct tool??? I borrowed an OEM Master set from Auto Zone and could NOT remove that fitting with ANY of the tools in the kit. I pushed, pulled, twisted, etc., and the fitting would not release. Perhaps I was doing it wrong? I gave up and just pulled the individual rails instead and left the fuel line intact.
I bought this fuel fitting tool from amazon the one for my fuel filter. And it worked real easy. I just had to press in and then pull back and it came off! But yeah no fuel line removal tool that I got from regular auto parts stores didn’t work
What symptoms was the vehicle having? I had codes for o2 sensors and i replaced them along with new cats. also replaced the mass air sensor. both of these helped the truck. ran great for a couple of days then started misfiring again. code 300. it has new plugs, wires and coil packs. im thinking its an injector or compression issue. the miss is intermittent. may drive a day or two before it misses again. very frustrating. truck has 165000 miles
I'd love to hear the remedy for this . Almost the exact same issue with my 02 Sierra . The miss is intermittent day or two its nice , then bamm. very frustrating indeed 190 k on mine . Purrs like a kitten otherwise but man ...
Any update?
I have p1174. GM service techs have no clue, meineke had no clue, other mech neither.... Just throw parts at it until light goes away basically.. Frustrating is an understatement. Perfectly functional cars deemed illegal for the streets of California.

I just recently changed my injectors and everything is good but every time I try to start it it acts like it did for you when you didn’t prime the fuel rails do you know what could be causing this ?
Hey bud! Thanks so much for watching. Quite honestly, I’d say check your fuses and it could also be a weak fuel pump? Not quite sure :(
Idk if you’re still having issues but did you maybe get dirt or grease or something on the new injectors and possibly clog it up when you put it in?
Check your fuel pressure regulator n vacumm line . Check your injector connections.before going all in on the fuel pump.
Check your injector 1 and 2 fuses. If they keep blowing run a bigger amp fuse
Would have definitely primed the fuel system more and cleared the code prior to starting it. Maybe some Vaseline on the injector O-rings too. But other wise good tutorial.
Hey thanks for watching man! Appreciate the tip!
How do u disconnect the quick connects I took the clamps off but I can get the quick connects to release
How do you take the engine light off or does it come off by it self how long does it take if it does thank you
Magnifico, i appreciate the time to share 🫵🏻❤️
I notice that you didn't put pressure on the drive side fuel rail how you know that the fuel injectors got locked in good
I have a 2000 Sierra 5.3 liter with 230,000 miles. Since 2015 I have change the fuel pump 3 times. The most recent pump was changed in Oct of 2019. I don't drive the truck much, but when I do, it drive and starts great. After about the 3rd day it will not start. I bang the bottom of the fuel tank and that seems to work for a while. I don't get a check engine lite. Some told me I might have a leaking fuel injector and that I can check that by removing the spark plugs to see if they are wet with fuel. Any suggestions?
yeah at this point i suggest taking it to a local mechanic. I would prefer you do that before getting a new set of injectors.
Rick C I just had to swap my injector on cylinder 7 I was having a missfire code that stayed on 7 even after swapping plug, wire, and coil pack with cylinder 5. Only took about 30 minutes to change that injector but the damn thing was $120 the local big green auto parts store.
@@kennethwright8081 thanks for the advice Kenneth. I'll try it. Be safe.
Don't buy a Chinese fuel pump
@@petebovenzi8119 Good luck with that, I'm a union ironworker and try not to buy MADE in CHINA parts, but it's getting hard. I ordered 5 different fuel pumps for my Chevy trying to find one not made in China, even the Denso was made in China.
So for my p0200 code i need to replace all 8 injectors? I unplugged the obvious bad injector and its running fine on 7 cylinders
You may have to replace just one injector then. Please double check your fuses
If you can afford to replace them all at once it is a good idea so you do not have to do the job more than once. If you are on a budget or just don't want to replace them all. Then just replace the ones you know are bad. Not good to run on just 7 cylinders for long. Also make sure to disconnect your battery every time you do work on your car and it involves wires or sensors.
Brody T thanks Brody! Really appreciate your feedback
I've heard #7 always gets clogged and that's really the issue. Anyone find stuff in injector #7
@@batman6936 im about to find out
i got p0300. and the history shows the 7 is been work on
so ill take it out and see what i found
ill update this comment!
Do they need to be calibrated or not for those?
Excellent question. I don’t think so.
How long did this take you? I’m about to start and I have about 7 hours of sunlight left haha
😂
Lucky I have a total of like 4 hours in alaska and its 0° on a warm day like today. Wait but the windchill is like-20° F LOL
My Avalanche engine has some variations. I hope I can do the injectors.
So if I take the Fuel Pump Relay and Engine Still Running that means Relay is Bad ??
You take out the relay while the truck is running until it stalls. What that does is remove any fuel thats in the lines so when u take out the injector rail or an injector by itself it wont leak gas out of it. U can do the same when replacing your fuel pressure regulator. I hope this helps. I just did mine on Saturday.
Ah, this first time I have discovered my engine is for flex fuel only by the injector type. I had ordered regular fuel injectors and they difinitely different.
What problem did the truck have that brought you to change injectors?
George Buss it was an “injector circuit” code. Thought my fuel injectors were faulty but they were fine. I was just missing fuses. So I decided to upgrade the injectors and make a video about it.
@@HidalgoMotorsCo what fuses jeez
All the dislikes are from ford owners
What code was it showing for fuel injectors ?
i don't remember the code. but it was "injector control circuit" turns out I needed the injectors fuses
What if i cant bleed the system at the beginning?
Mi avalanche es similar creo me ayudara mucho es 2002 1500
Thanks for the vid, but do you and a vast number of other vid posters not have any friends, or at least a tripod? Seriously though everyone doing a how to video should get a friend to do the camera work so they can use both hands to do the job as it would be done. That being said, I certainly appreciate the effort. I'm sure this helped a lot of people.
Man this would have been a great video if he had spoke up
Sorry bill! I did my best. And definitely did not expect this video to get many views
OK GOOD VIDEO , HOW MUCHI TIME DID IT TAKE OR WOULD IT TAKE FROM START TO FINISH ?
It took me about 8 hours total from beginning to end cause I was going really slow, recording and had to go buy tools I didn’t have! Lol but a job like this with all parts should take about 2-6 hours depending on experience
Takes me around a hour and a half to complete without any breaks in between that is if you don't have a bunch of garbage to clean out of the fuel rails
@@jonathanlawson4667 I'm looking forward to this job on my 02 Sierra Yay I'll need all the advice I can get
@@petebovenzi8119 it's not a bad job and just message me I'll help you with any questions I can
Jonathan Lawson thanks. Very cool.
homie spilt like $100 worth of gas on that floor 😂
que te valga madre no?
You not pulling up even on that fuel rail made me cringe I was just waiting to hear a pop 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol luckily it didn’t break! If not I would’ve made another video lol 😂
Link to the fuel rails
I would have been a little concerned with that loud engine knock in beginning when he was draining fuel
Jon Lol I know! It’s all good though. Turns out I just needed a fuse 🤦🏻♂️ and it was fixed!
@@HidalgoMotorsCo ok glad its fixed tho, You are awesome
Jon thanks bud! Same to you! Thanks for watching!!
What fuse was it?
thejuiceisloose 00 it was an injector fuse. On the diagram it shows an asterisk next to it... idk if that means anything. But it’s one of those must have fuses! I took it to a shop and they misdiagnosed it. So I had to start back from zero and make sure everything was there!
Question,
After changing eight of my injectors just for the heck of it I noticed that for some reason now it hesitates to start sometimes what can this be?
New injectors could be the problem. Dealing with this now. 2nd set from eBay and both were lean misfire. Running on stock again with one not working 100 percent. Either not enough fuel or leaking injector flooding a cylinder... or fuel pump on the way out.
@@20tea I did a fuel pressure test on my avalanche and it was only putting out about 50 psi which is super low. So that tells that the pump is bad. Thanks.
What language was this recorded in? Could use some light too.
We aimed to record it all in English. And tried our best for it to be as bright as possible. Thanks for watching tho! Hope we could help out!
@@HidalgoMotorsCo guess I couldn't hear what was said so it difficult to tell the language. Light wasn't that bad but needs improvment
Get a life
Hard to get the injectors back in
DoingMe yeah it can be a bit challenging. Just please take your time and do it right. Make sure the injector gaskets don’t move out of the way during installation. Thanks for watching!
Dale Hopkins excellent idea
My avalanche missing fuel pump relay and mini fuse
I can’t even put the driver side rail and injectors in smh 🤦
Holly crap 80 pounds of oil pressure at idle
You could clean them and save money for costumer
Can barely hear you. Try screaming
lol next time I am gonna get a microphone and speak from the chest. another guy like you told me that lol
Wouldn't it be best to remove the intake and just do it that way.. way more easy access??
yep, but I wasn't thinking clearly lol
your oil pressure sending unit is bad is at 80 with the engine off
Straight up got a ad 1 min into the vid lol
can't hear u
CAN HARDLY HEAR YOU
yes I know. we were not expecting this video to get as many views as it did. so we did not put much effort into it. sorry. we will make another video just for you!
