My ex boyfriend cheated on me with my best friend and they’re now engaged. To say it messed with my mental health is a severe understatement. I’ve had countless therapy sessions over it and have spent a very long time trying to get over the crippling trust issues. It’s such a painful experience but in hindsight I know I’m so much better off without both of them in my life and I’ve dated people since, but getting over it has definitely been a challenge these last few years.
My husband cheated on me and I found out a year later (my whole family knew) while we were buying a house and having child number 3. After a lot of explosions, time apart, and therapy we decided to work through it. It was tough for years, this was 9 years ago and it still fucks with me. It took a long time to build back any kind of trust, if I hadn't been in such a vulnerable time things may have been different. But I do understand. It changed me in a bad way😢
My best friend/sister had the same thing happen to her and to make matters even worse after she passed away recently they both had the audacity to go to her funeral, sit all the way in the back, and then run out of the venue before I could see them as if they ever cared about her and didn’t just want to attend to absolve their guilt. I am sorry that happened to you I also had a similar thing happen to me but they didn’t stay together after but seeing what happened to my sissy makes one realize hey it can always be worse.

Karelly, my dad gave me advice one time when I was cheated on by my high school “sweetheart” I was so heartbroken and couldn’t fathom how someone could do this. He said “don’t try to understand how they could because you never will because YOU would never do that to someone.. so don’t drive yourself crazy” trusting someone and them proving you wrong is a reflection of them not you. Definitely had to learn that the hard way

Men get more excuses . Women cheat too but they are always made the guilty bad person (as they should be) but men.. they get a pass over and over again by society, when a women cheats on a man, fuck her how could she do that to a man! I’ve been cheated on before years ago when I was in high school. That really hurt but omg I can’t imagine going through what she went through. Like dang. Guys suck. Did she mention if he worked out of town? Because usually that’s how guys get away with it.
My long term BF and i (late 20s, coming up on 6 yrs together) still dont live together cuz its too expensive. We still live at our respective parents house, and we go back and forth between my parents house and his on weekends! I got contact lenses recently, and his mom is mostly blind, so i came in with no glasses and she didnt immediately recognize me, and started screaming at him in spanish and his little sister come in like wtf!! His sister translated for me saying "she thought you were a different girl and she was ready to beat (my bf) for bringing another girl home" it made me feel safe in the best way lol

I'm in the exact same living situation as you with my bf of 5 years and my in-laws remind me often that they'll always be there for me if the worse happens. I believe them since they did just that with his sisters' partners.
My boyfriend of 7 years and I are in the same living situation too! It feels like we’re the only ones lol. We’re waiting for the housing market crash and wanting to live in a specific area. We don’t want to spend $350k for a house that would’ve been $180k 10 years ago 😅

Clinical psychology PhD student here - I urge people to apply caution when coming across supposed “body language experts.” Those claims are pseudoscientific. Yes, there are some innate behaviors, but adult behaviors are mainly the product of learning. Infants typically have certain innate behaviors/reflexes, but many of these fade over time as children learn the societally appropriate behaviors to get their needs met. I never understand where these “experts” are getting their information from

We humans are extremely social And have certain body language patterns. The only guy I'll ever watch is observe.
Thank you for saying this. As a neurodivergent person my body language is very inconsistent with my thoughts and behaviors. I.e. appearing closed off,turned away, and little eye contact when I’m interacting with people even when I enjoy interacting with them. Body language experts in no way reflect reality. Body language experts also say if you look around you’re “ lying ..?” I look around when I speak because my neurodivergent brain is literally looking around to think of what I’m trying to say/recall. This is bc I can’t process conversations and responses as quickly as neurotypical people, but a person without a degree and claims to be a body language expert would label me as a liar. And the internet is taking them seriously!! 💀 They dismiss actual real psychological factors, such as divergency, trauma, stress, or other random external factors such as being distracte and will be labeled as “uninterested” by a “body lang expert” 💀
I agree, as someone with severe anxiety and panic disorder, whenever I hear them say things like "oh they're self-soothing my rubbing their arm they must be lying" it terrifies me if I'm ever interrogated because I look like a nervous wreck on a daily basis lol

Agreed! With significant psych education in my background and daily practice as a clinician, I’ve seen incongruent communication that is deceptive as well as entirely not. I have OCD and didn’t come out of my abusive parental situation until 28 (despite moving out on my 18th birthday). Under that coercion and just recovering, realizing I have self value, at 45 I struggle to maintain eye contact. I finally don’t shift everywhere, but often “look past people” while talking, even patients. My arms are in pockets when working, mostly crossed at rest due to ortho injuries. I shift and sway. I have a few small tics, noticeable when I’m not sure of myself if someone pays attention. I have repetitive movements/behaviors when at rest or allowed time to do so (being alone in an interrogation room sounds like a nightmare). On top of that, I have a rare disease, 14 major surgeries, and that heavily affects my movement and muscle control. I just transitioned to palliative care.
I’ve always feared being part of a medical deposition! 🤣🤣🤣 My compassion, care, morals, and ethics have never come into question. Guess if I was interrogated about deleting someone, I wouldn’t pass that body language check lol!

I’m in the same one as Karly and now I’m so curious if I saw the post. I came across so many guys I saw on the apps that attempted to start a conversation with me. Colorado has the worst options of men.
Karelly, as some who went through similar and ended up pregnant by him... block the man and act like he never existed. Do not entertain his messages or send him snaps. He is testing the waters and will continue to do so. I know what he did hurts but walk away.
Haven’t watched all the way, but as a dude who was cheated on and got an STI from the same woman 4x, it ruined me forever. To the point where if my wife does or changes something, I immediately SPIRAL. 🌀 I love yall though, just wanted to share men experience it too.

I think the difference between an amicable break up and what happen with trash man, is that he didn’t just break your trust in him, his manipulation also broke the trust you have in your own judgement and intuition. Being played this way puts a little chip in your self worth because they tell you in their actions that you don’t deserve the respect you gave them.
You deserve every bit of respect and love that you put out in the world, and you can absolutely rebuild the trust you have in yourself.

I've been too exhausted to put in the emotional labor for ONE relationship, I can't imagine how exhausting it would be to carry on MULTIPLE relationships at one time?! Not to mention the lying and the manipulation, that sounds so exhausting and for what?? Dating should not be this dangerous. It's unbelievable.
I’m poly but taking a break bc it is so much effort to maintain so many romantic relationships on top of familial, friendships professional… whew.
And it’s crazy to wrap my mind around the fact that ppl in open / poly relationships cheat/lie/cross boundaries so often! It can be very disappointing and mentally draining trying to connect to dishonest people.

My fiancé cheated on me for 3 years, it’s very traumatizing and imo abusive. I’m so sorry that happened to you. It’s hard to see when the guy is very charming. He acted the same way “wanting a family” no social media, spent a lot of money and nice dates. Sad that those are now red flags when they shouldn’t be.

There’s a stitch out there of this girl pointing out that there’s a 2 hour time difference on the car radio in the blonde 8 video. Meaning that they took 2 hours filming it. If the bad acting wasn’t enough for anyone there’s some proof right there.

One of my favorite things I’ve done out of revenge is setting the number up for spam calls. My ex cheated on me and got a girl pregnant then had the audacity to ask if I would be okay with being a step mom… no sir. I also made fake Craigslist listings with his number for like free chickens, free livestock, cheap land, etc. 😂 (I’m really aging myself with that one as this was 10+ years ago)
I dated my ex for five years. When we broke up he stalked me and, by his own mistakes, I realized he had a girlfriend for SIX years. Me and the girl talked and, together, figured out that there was for sure another girl. It was crazy! And the dude was a walking red flag, but I was so young and naive, I just thought everything was in my head! It literally feels like it was a movie, it's so cliche! When I found out he was dating again, I tried to warn the girl, but she didn't take it well... He could've easily ruined my life with all the violence, gaslighting, manipulation... I'm so glad that part of my life is long gone.

I got cheated on this summer by my highschool sweetheart😅 we reconnected after about 7 years of not seeing each other, and started a 2year long situationship. He was trying to get me to move in with him in Colorado, but I thought something was up so I came to visit him for a week first. Had a great week, but on my way home I got a call from his “girlfriend” who had just gone through his phone. She informed me he had TWO more girls who thought they were dating him, and he’d slept with FOUR other girls from tinder that week🤮🤢. Totally destroyed all the trust I had for relationships and made me feel disgusting. Some people are just trash. Karelly is absolutely right, trust your gut. You’re such a badass Karelly!

Cheating is the worst thing I’ve ever been through in my life. I was with a guy for 8 years & married 2 of those. I end up finding out my ex husband was cheating on me bc the mistress messaged me. She then made my life a living hell. I tried to die bc it is the biggest thing you could do to your significant other. I’m happy what I tried didn’t work bc I’m now the happiest I’ve ever been. But cheating almost ruined my life. I hate it so much.

I know someone cheating on their wife, many times over with multiple people at the same time. It eats me up inside. Even more tragic is I’m not sure she would even care. Their relationship is so toxic that it’s possible she knows and also is cheating.
I’m married to someone who’s in the military. The amount of cheating that goes on is shocking. What always surprises me even more so is how normalized it is. People will have designated partners to hook up with on deployments and everyone around them will know… months later they greet their husband/wife for homecoming and everyone just kind of cringes.
My best advice to you would be that if you feel very strongly about telling wife, do it ANONYMOUSLY (again if possible). That type of stuff can turn sooo sour and who knows how you could get roped into it especially if it’s a workplace situation.

When my boyfriend got a new radio, the guy installing it warned him that his girlfriend would be able to see his calls and texts when they came in. 😅
My friend got cheated on by a guy she met online dating. So the guy was love bombing her sending her Venmo for coffee nails. He ends up moving to another city. So they stop talking for a little bit. Then they start talking again months later. He tells her he was wrong for disappointing her he worked on himself, goes to therapy, and he wanted her to come see him so he could show her how serious he was about her.
She Flies to visit him they are driving down the highway from the airport and a Bluetooth call kept coming up on his car. He kept ignoring the call. Turns out the call was this girl he's been dating THAT WAS DRIVING BESIDE THEM. That's why she was calling over and over again.
So long story short the girl ends up meeting them at his house and takes my friend to her house. They uncover and track down 3 other girls he was dating. So it was John Tucker must die movie! They all 5 end up getting an Airbnb and going out in the city. While they are out he is nonstop texting all of them individually saying "baby I only like you all those other girls are lying". 😂
Then they all make a TikTok that goes viral. One of the 5 girls that he had no idea was in communication with the other girls. So she calls him and has his mom come outside his house. All 5 girls walking up to his house together surprising him. 😂😂
He then tries to sue them for making a TikTok.

The 3some AITA is definitely an asshole. That is so inappropriate to do without your partner's explicit consent. Even if they had talked about a 3some, she definitely shouldn't have surprised him with the person and time. The most important thing with trying anything new, BDSM, and sex in general is enthusiastic consent based on an understanding by both/all parties involved. Another extremely important thing is making sure you know what you're getting into. You can't just start choking without knowing technique, or bondage without ample emergency plans and safewords, or introduce a whole ass new partner on the spot. If you look into people's experiences with 3somes for 2 minutes, you'll see people talk about the jealousy and risk of it wrecking your relationship if not everyone involved is on the same page. To me, it's pretty obvious how messed up and ignorant the OP was, but if it helps anyone else, think about if it were the boyfriend bringing home another girl or a guy?? I feel like then it would seem more clear how consent would be important in the situation and how the dynamics could pressure someone into just doing it. All of that AND drugs and alcohol were involved? That shit is messy af. Again, if the roles were reversed, i think people would more obviously see how wrong that is (and I'm saying all of this as a woman).

absolutely agree. i was shocked by that post, there is no way he could consent fully. the friend already being there and everything being set up and ready to go means that he felt intense pressure to do it. he might not have felt extreme aversion and so he might’ve convinced himself in the moment, but as you said, he wasn’t enthusiastic about it. plus the alcohol and weed means he became impaired, and i’m sure he felt pressured to participate in that too.
it’s not uncommon for someone to be unsure about a sexual act and consider it in the moment and feel they can consent, but you have to control for other aspects of the situation to help your partner feel comfortable to make that decision. that means ensuring they know you’ll respect a no, and that when you have something so elaborately set up like that threesome, there are two people’s expectations to worry about and consider, and so a no is harder to give. when it comes to such a radically different sexual dynamic, there absolutely needs to be prior discussion, and an extensive one at that.
Also I feel like if the genders were reversed people would be outraged.

I was in a 10 yr relationship engaged and found out as I was planning our wedding he had been cheating on me with his best friends wife for a few years! Anyway that’s not the only dirtbag I’ve dealt with. But these are the things we go through to learn and grow to get to our person. I’m happy to say I’ve been married now 27 yrs happily and the funny part is he was my sisters best friend and been a part of my family since we were little kids lol what’s funny is whenever he was dating someone or I was dating someone we always hated them lol you would think it would have dawned on us. He told me yrs later when I got engaged to my ex he had gone home and cried that’s when he knew how he not only loved me but was in love with me and thought it was to late. After I broke up with my ex and yes slapped him, my hubby and I always hung out and would go out. He helped me through would take me out. Funny part is whenever we would go out he always treated me like a queen, he was always good to my whole family. He just kept being my friend and finally it dawned on me this is what I wanted and to be treated and I realized I was also in love with him. Long story long lol we started dating and because we knew everything about each other we were engaged within two months and married after four months after that. So these are all the experiences you need to go through to get to your person and it will be when you least expect it 💜💜💜💜
So happy to hear you found your husband. I also wasted almost 10 years with a loser. Regret not leaving and not looking back sooner. Since I left I've never been happier and found true peace ✌🏼

Karelly thank you for sharing your experience. I completely sympathize with you and the pain that being cheated on brings. I had a very similar experience but even worse as we were married and me living in his country didn’t help at all. Long story short, mine John Tucker lied to me throughout our whole relationship. We started dating while I was an exchange student, and he even came back to my country with me. Loved bombed me, just to strip me of my sanity bit by bit. When we came back to his country - I was so busy working I didn’t notice the red flags until my coworker told me she saw him on f**cking Tinder … he was cheating on me left and right, dating various woman at the same time (when I found out at least 3 others). Even when I confronted him he lied to my face…cannot fathom how someone can be so cruel.
First red flag 🚩 the guy is a lawyer 😂

I met my best friend when i was 16 and my boyfriend was cheating on me with her. I found out, called her, and we set him up at her house with both of us there confronting him. Needless to say, that man got double dumped and she and i have been besties ever since and I'm 44 now. 😘

I’m so grateful Karelly shared her experience. I went through something similar last year with someone who lived over seas. The lies really broke me down and I felt like the whole ordeal was my fault. Being cheated on/ being the other woman can be so isolating and deteriorating to your self worth. Hearing other women support each other through these things is so comforting!

I’ve literally never commented on an episode of this show even though I’ve listened to every single one but I felt so moved after hearing karelly share her experience with cheating. I was in a very similar situation as you karelly and it brought me to one of my lowest points. There’s so much shame and guilt surrounding being “the other woman” figure in the situation even when you literally had no idea what was going on. I haven’t even attempted to date anyone since what I went through bc I’m honestly traumatized. No one in my personal life has been through something like this so at times it’s felt really isolating. I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing your experience and validating things that I have felt/experienced. Here’s hoping we both find our person! 🤞🏻

I noticed you’re a good story teller and I enjoyed listening to you. Not the subject of course but you get my point. It got me thinking : It would be cool to once in a while bring up some topics from Spanish media . I’m Mexican American and I find that the culture brings a different vibe to certain interesting topics and if you translated some stories maybe from Reddit or Mexican novelas or movies just to share and hear the other ladies’ opinions . A few shows that comes to mind is Mujeres Asesinas or mujer casos de la vida real (the older ones are insane ) or caso cerrado or como dice el dicho, etc etc … just thought I’d share because it’s what I thought about when listening to your story telling . I hope I made sense as well 😂

I stayed single because I couldn’t handle being in a relationship after 4 years of bs but in 2019 I went to a 4th of July party & got introduced to someone after telling all my friends I wasn’t looking for a relationship.. we had an immediate bond & I couldn’t be more grateful that we got introduced because we’re now married with two beautiful kiddos & I’m living the life I’ve always dreamt of with my best friend by my side ❤️
