🙂 I bought one and love what it can do especially with the additional added features that are available and hard to find at times, but very effective for my personal need when I am on location videotaping an event.
Just found your channel, great to see a brother out there doing gear reviews. Thanks for the great review on the Weebill S and A7iii. I lost it when you mentioned the lotion, and that rooftop footage was dope as hell! Earned yourself a subscriber for sure. ✊🏽
😭😭😭 I appreciate it bro!! I try my best to be as detailed as possible while giving you all real life examples. And man thank you as far as me being a brother! Haha it’s been a rough couple weeks but comments like yours help me keep pushing. I appreciate it Chad!
There’s various settings I use but I always always recommend using auto tune for heavier setups. If it’s properly balanced, auto tune is accurate. I even use it on my cinema camera setup with the Crane 2s
Anytime I use something like a heavier zoom lens, I use the Ronin S. I know the Tamron 28-75mm is not a very heavy lens. I balance my Sigma 50mm Art Lens and it weighs 1.79lbs. The Tamron lens weighs 1.21lbs. So in theory it should balance at any focal length.
Dude, you killed it! This is my first visit to the channel and I love it. I have been watching a trillYen videos on Ronin S, Ronin SC and Weebill S. Lots of great info making this a hard decision. My setup will be Sony a7iii and Zeis 16-35 f4 and THIS video has given me the power to make the final decision. Thanks bruh! I'm subscribing
Dude thank you so much! Also thank you for watching the video man! Means a lot! And you're going to love this thing especially with your A7III and lightweight lenses. Sorry for my delay and hope you're enjoying your Weebill S.
Great to see the unboxing and review of the Weebill S and a7iii! How are you controlling the camera, via the ZY Play app, without a transmitter attached?
Came across your channel and I dig it. Really great content. Earned a sub and looking forward to more videos..great personality. Loved the video bro 🤘🏽
So you think that it’ll be able to handle the a7iii with the 90mm Macro lens? Also, how’d you mount it for vertical shooting? Is it by using a cage or L bracket? Cheers
Hows well does the electronic power zoom work? Do you have to use the joystick or integrated wheel to do so? Can the wheel or joystick also control the focus? (Using a Sony A6500 with the 18-105mm F4 with Power Zoom)
First, with the power zoom, I have not used any power zoom lenses as I mostly use full frame lenses. The integrated wheel controls focus with the follow focus attachment and not through the USB. The USB connection allows you to control the camera settings though! I almost never use any of the controls because I prefer to not have cables in my way.
i havent heard anyone talk about the minmic feature being on a camea jib and as you pan the jib you can use the mimic feature to follow the talent. most higher end camera jibs have features to rotate the camera on some type of motor but with mimic on the webille it would be perfect.....and also on those cheaper dollys
i guess Im asking randomly but does someone know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost my account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me
@Nathan Anthony Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I purchased the Monitor Arm (thanks to this video), to mount Atomos Ninja V to Weebil-S. All sort of went well. I'm fighting, trying to figuring out the proper cable to use. My Atomos coil cable is too short. What cable are you using? Any chance of you posting a detailed video of your rig? Thanks, your video's are very educational and entertaining.
Sorry for my delay!! I am working on new videos detailing my rigs including cinema rigs! Me and my team have been rebuilding my studio areas so it's cause content delays but more content coming soon! I can tell you there are various cables that can be found on Amazon. I have so many different lengths in cables depending on the setup.
something I have picked up on with this gimbal, no-one talks about the buttons, the buttons are right on the handle where you have to hold the gimbal, do they not get in the way? accidental button press etc, seems as though no one talks about this
Whats up Nick! So I have been using this gimbal for nearly a year. I have honestly never ever had an issue with the buttons on the side. I absolutely had the same reservations. But shoot after shoot, I have not had an issue with accidentally pressing buttons. Hope this helps!
Mario Devon Visuals truth...but its quality info we wanna know, you ain’t just yappin off at the lips like the other 5 reviews of the weebil I just watched
man, I've got a question to ask as a person who has almost same setup. when you film a video and if that is not a B-roll, how you deal with all the noise came from sigma? I did take a quite some time and money to deal with this and wonder how you do it .
Good question! External Mic. I use both the Rode Video Mic Pro+ and also the Rode Wireless GO. Both of those do well with noise. But if you're using the on-camera mic, yes it's going to pick up the focus noises. I honestly do not experience much noise.
Hey Mario, do you get a picture, when you connect a monitor (in my case the atomos ninja v) on the a7iii via hdmi an also have a usb cable on it for the zhiyun weebill s?? i have massive problems to get a picture on the atomos in this combination. tried all settings, but it does not work. Would be so nice, if you could tell me your camerasettings for compatibility. Best regards, jan
Hi Gabriele! Honestly I have never used the Sigma 40mm. But if it's similar to the weight of the Sigma 50mm, then yes the Weebill can handle it for sure.
I just got the same gimbal! And for some god knows reason I can’t control my a73 with the gimbal while having an external monitor connected to it? If you have any advice of why it does that and help me out I would highly appreciate it! And you just got a new sub
Where are you placing the monitor and also how long is your cable? Also how heavy is your lens? I use the Atomos Ninja V as my monitor to the side and it works just fine. BUT if I put my really heavy Sigma 50mm on the Weebill, the lens is so heavy I can’t add a monitor to my setup unless I place it on the back handle.
Mario Devon Visuals no I place it on the side , I don’t think you understood my question , can you control iso , shutter speed from the gimbal and still see image on the monitor?
@@AlfaMedtech I absolutely misunderstood haha! Apologies as I thought you meant actually moving with the gimbal. But yes, there's a cable for the Sony system included in the Weebill packaging. Just make sure you update the Weebill control settings to "Sony." You will also be able to see those settings like ISO and shutter speed on the external monitor. Once connected to a monitor, the A7III's screen will go black, mirroring its image onto the monitor. Your camera controls will work on the camera and the gimbal with the Sony cable connected to the gimbal. Sorry for the long response lol. Didn't wanna miss anything.
Mario Devon Visuals I did that! I connected the included multi USB cable and put the gimbal settings to Sony and I can only start recording and stop recording. I can’t control iso or shutter speed. The gimbal and camera are both in the latest firmware. Thank you and hope for an answer .
Ok, interesting review but what I take from the comments and posts elsewhere on the subject is that this gimbal is not in fact compatible with Sony A7iii unless all you want is an expensive stick to carry it around. Not for me, thanks.
the purpose of a gimbal is to stabilize footage. It achieves that. Most of my colleagues that are DP's for a living NEVER use the control cables as they can get in the way. If you want control, I would recommend the Ronin SC or the new RSC2. Thank you for your comment Pat!
Nice review Mario! I also have the Weebill S, but haven't used it yet. Did you use an ND filter from 15:25 to 15:35? That night footage looks really great! I'm not a pro, so I was wondering what brand you use for an ND filter. So far I have a Sony 35mm f 1.8 lens for my Sony a7C and was curious about an ND filter for that lens. Thanks!
This guy 😂 at least we got the most aesthetically pleasing grip, ya know cuz we gotta look sharp doin what we do lol...thanks Mario, I’m gonna replace my zhiyun crane v2 with this weebil S for the new EOS R....ooooweeee I’m pumped for it now!, -Adam
Mario Devon Visuals oh no doubt, gotta look good if we’re gonna make them good ya know?!? So Last week my Mac Pro crashed and left me stranded, basically it was an update from hell and I almost lost everything. So rather than by the Weebil S for now I used the funds to buy a lightning fast MacBook Pro...And it was well worth it!! Plus I can still use my Zhiyun crane V2 for now. I’m building out my new studio as we speak and working on my cyclone wall because I have more in studio than out of studio work booked for now. But the Weebil is on my shortlist to get soon!! Hope you’re healthy and staying buff...I’m taking this time to stick with the resistance bands and kill the 50 rep sets, cut back the calories and just getting shredded for summer lol!!
Joshua! Preciate it so much brother! And yes there is a portion of the video where my mic goes out. But the rest of it is clean as I am using the Rode Video Mic Pro+

What are your motor settings for that setup using the sigma 24-70? low, med, high? It Looks really smooth.
Been asking myself the same question

Can you zoom the tamron 28-75 to 75 without re balancing the gimbal if not ...can you balance it on 75mm?

MY BROOOO!
I heard from another video that the video and photo record button on the Weebill S does not trigger on with the A7iii. Is that right?
It will with the cable. I personally never use cables as I like the flexibility of not having them intrude on my process
good content! I also have a7iii and just got the webill s, i ve seen that e-focus is not compatible... Do you go with autofocus?
Thank you so much Javi! Yes, I actually rely on the Autofocus from the Sony A7III or the Canon EOS R when I am using it

How do you mount and balance the camera with the gimbal vertically?
You'll need to attach an L bracket to your camera first
