Really? I only saw in the transcript that he said, "Well, what are we going to do about this?" She [Maples] said, "Are you serious? It's the most beautiful day of our lives." He said, "Oh, great." It means almost the same thing, of course, but the other words sound much worse.

Excellent work! Faux said the quiet part out loud. If banning abortion means the rethuglicans lose power then let’s just backtrack because it’s not about abortion, it’s actually only winning that matters.
This isn't excellent work at all. The conservative position has long been that Roe was wrongly decided because it invents a right that exists nowhere in the constitution. Rights not spelled out in the constitution are subject to regulation by the democratic process among the states. That was the conservative position in 1973, 1993, 2023, and also now in 2024. The Daily Show doesn't want to address the legal principle at play though because they need to demagogue instead, since they are nothing more than a mouthpiece for the DNC along with all other late night talk shows.
