  • Vibram makes A LOT of toe shoes. But whch one is the best one? Im not sure I can answer that qestion in this video, though we will very likely explore that question in a future video. Based on my eexperience with the features of the V-Alpha, it is definitely near the front of the pack for me. Thin, light, durable so far, and grippy as heck, the V-Alpha seems to be winner in my book.

    Every time I see 5 finger shoes I think of the old tv show called Married with Children. There was an episode that had Al make 5 finger shoes. He called them God's shoes. So every 5 finger shoe to me is God's shoe.

    Nice job on the review.
    I switched to Vibram FiveFingers in July 2012. My first few pair where the Bikilas. When I found the Spyridon model, those became my favorite, and still are. I also run a lot in the V-Trail 2.0, and my current pair have logged a ton of miles running the trails in the Grand Canyon. Just did a speed run in them there, 2 days ago, and posted that vid to my channel.
    My daughter joined me in running in FF's when she was in 8th Grade track in 2012, and went on to race HS Varsity Cross-Country and Track, all 4 years. Because off the FFs, and similar shoes, she never learned out to be a heel-strike or princess prance style runner, and was the only member of any of the teams, to not become injured. She's now 24 and still runs in them, and we're still running together. She's done 6 R2R runs at the Grand Canyon with me, and 1 Rim2River (vids on the channel).
    IMO, they're better without socks, both in how they fit, and in the fun of getting them wet on a run. They're very glove-like without socks, and when the lacing is snugged up, and the excess lace twisted up into a pig-tail before velcro-ing it down, the tongue stays nice. We purposefully run through creeks, and any other water, like a couple of 5yr olds.

    Got these about 3 months ago and pretty well agree with this review. My biggest thing to add would be IMO these feel wider and more flexible than other VFFs I have tried.

    I don't know if they're still available these days, but Vibram came out with the Lontra in 2012. They are an insulated option meant for running in the snow and they are water resistant. I still have a pair and they are a great option for colder weather/light snow.

    Hello Chris how you doing man? I really like those 5 finger shoes man. I like the colors too. I just wonder if they are wide enough for my extremely wide feet 🦶 i have. I have a couple of pairs but my toes are so fat that they barely fit it the toes Pockets because of how fat my toes are. You can see my toes Bulging out of the toes Pockets which I am Afraid that I am going to rip the toe Pockets right out because of how fat & how bad my toes are Bulging out of the toes Pockets. But i love the barefoot 👣 feeling that you get from wearing them. Sometimes I wish I didn't have extremely wide feet 🦶 cuz i really like to get me a pair of these. Thanks you for sharing this video buddy. P.S. O you Mission about wearing your 5 finger to work. Did you do a video of you wearing them at work? & how did they feel while wearing them at work? Good video buddy again thank you for sharing this video buddy.

      They are wide enough for me at size 44 and 11.4 wide feet. However the toes don't fit well with socks so I have had to get used to wearing and running in them sockless.

      @joshgies1869 Oh OK your foot is a size 44 & a 4 E wide feet 🦶 is that right ? That's a wide foot man. I have 6 boys & all of them have very wide feet 🦶 & One of my sons feet 🦶 is a 4 E wide with big toes. Yeah my feet 🦶 will not even fit in the toes sock. Not even my big toe will not fit in the toes Pockets. I have very very chubby fat wide toes so. My big toe is about 2" inches wide. " LOL" & the rest of my toes are over 1" inches wide. I would have to be wearing them sockless too. I appreciate your help & Opinion & thanks you so much for replying back. This was very helpful to me .

    So, do you have a VFF suggestion for wide feet (EEE/EEEE)? I did a search, and it looks like most people feel that they accommodate wide feet fairly well from the few reddit comments I could find. But I saw little actual data. The look a little narrow in the arch for me, but the ball looks mega wide, so it is hard to judge.

      I’ll take a look at some of the insteps and get back to you. The nice thing about two shoes is they kinda mold to the shape of your foot. So having super wide feet doesn’t usually matter unless your feet are “abnormally” wide.
      As far as the instep goes, do you tend to have flatter feet? Because the instep of the foot is naturally narrow based on the ideal height of your arches

      @@sonsofsever So my feet are about 10.65 x 4.5 inches. A solid 4E. High arch and instep. Not flat at all lol.

      @sonsofsever  2 месяца назад +1

      @@kitcraft9516 with higher arches than me and almost the same foot size you shouldn’t have issues with the 5 finger instep 🤷🏻‍♂️

      @@sonsofsever Thank you, watching some more of your videos on them now. (V-Train as I need a good lifting/light cardio shoe.) And didn't realize you had a second channel, so I am checking that out.

      @kitcraft9516 I have very similar size, 10.5 x 4.5 and size 44 fits me like a glove. I have had a few other vffs and they felt more restrictive that the v-alpha. I got mine on Etsy for $60 FYI
