My second car was an 8G Galant base model. Always thought it was a stunningly pretty car and always wanted to get a VR4 with that magical V6. Maybe some day I will. Great video, I didn't know the 6G VR4 came from an abandoned Starion Group B project. It's such a shame Mitsubishi has fallen to the level it has now.
The 8G VR4 is a great car all around. If you're in the US, some are already legal to import and a few companies are importing them. Few weeks ago a white manual sedan popped up for near 18 grand.
Blessed are those who drove it, repaired it, and own it. Truly a remarkable car. A sport sedan of no equal. Succeed only by another series of truly sports sedans. The now legendary Lancer evolution series. Alas, Mitsubishi no longer makes the hearts of the petrol heads race with excitement. Hope this will change soon.
I'm 18 and I've been looking from my first car choice to go to college and I've been considering a 00' galant. It's funny how yt algorythm recomends me this video
The galant is such a great car man I own a Mitsubishi Legnum VR4 type s and it's just fucking awesome man I can just really appreciate the engineering behind this car
Bought a 91 Galant Vr4 in 1999 (My senior year in high school) and drove it all through college. Got it running mid 11's in the 1/4mi and just loved that car. I bought it with just under 200k miles on it and when I sold it in 2005 (God i regret selling it) It had 333k on the clock and it was still running great. Sure i rebuilt the engine so I could run more boost but it never failed on me in any bad way. I miss the world of fun/cheap project cars from the late 80's through the early 90's. I bought that Vr4 for 3k and owned a handful of other DSM's and they were all in the 2-4k range.
proud to be an owner of a Mitsubishi Galant E546A12 A/T 24V 2,0 V6 VR type. Too bad price of gasoline raised up so my "Shockman" will be for week end use only.
Was hoping to see some mention about the AMG Galant. Although it was not a VR-4 Its a big deal being Pre Merger AMG tuned 500 of them. Im6 currently restoring my Galant VR4 and I have thr complete AMG Body trim.
I want to get a Galant VR4, but the car I'm interested in has rockers that are rusted to absolute crap. Don't know if I should bite the bullet to do a custom fab job or what. How did you get the AMG body trim?
I had a chance to pick one of these up in the early 2000s when I was 21. Bought a heavily modified Honda Prelude instead. The Honda was a great car but I'm still kicking myself for not getting the Galant. I was talked out of it because someone said "those turbos are gonna be trouble, better to buy something with less moving parts". Maybe he was right but had I known how rare they were it wouldn't have even been close. 2 grand for it back then. Good luck even finding one for sale now.
That’s a shame you didn’t end up with the galant, they truly are special cars. I got lucky and bought one earlier this year for a solid price, it’s an amazing machine!
That’s crazy I bought a 1997 prelude when I was 17 when I needed my first car and now I just bought a vr4 but had no idea about them just saw a good deal on Facebook so I never exspected to own one
Love my 6th gen. Tracked down RS bumper and hood for it. Got a 4 bolt LSD rear in it. Currently building a box with straight cut gears based on an evo 2 RS box for it. Once that is done it's finally time to use all the parts under my bed and build my 94mm stroker. 😁
i started playing forza again. in forza horizon 3, galant wasn't available, but now in fh4 it is with legacy RS. last week was winter week in fh4, i drove the shit out of it. i got recommended best motoring video of galant. you uploaded this. holy shit i feel like im in love with rally in general, especially this era.
Most underrated Mitsubishi's: Galant 6th, 7th, 8th generation FTO 3000gt Eclipse 1st,3rd,4th gen Pajero 2nd,3rd gen Delica star wagon, space gear Mirage (the one that has 4g63)
My first car was a 1800 GLSi. Then I saw a 89 Dynamic 4 (EU model. Kinda VR4 but w/o Turbo) standing right around the corner of my house. Luckily the guy sold it to me the same evening. That was 1997. Always wanted the VR4 though but it wasn’t sold in Germany. 1999 I then got a chance to import one. For a while I had all 3 of them in white in front of the house. Ppl thought I am a car dealer 😂 The GLSi died in a crash but saved my life (was the passenger). I gave the D4 to an enthusiast who begged me for it. He later sold it to a Mitsubishi dealer focusing on Rallye cars. So the D4 was converted into a Rallye car for their own racing team. And beauty is still with me. Live her so much. But to make it short. Get one if you want to. Now. You might regret spending money but you regret it even more one day if you don’t .
E39A for life ❤ I got a 1992 US version. Imported it to Germany 1999. Daily is a RS5 though. Too scared to scratch the paint of the VR4 😂 Ups: just checked the badge. She is a 1991 #1365
I drive a 6g galant gti at the Philippine rallycross series, would love to post and share some pictures but youtube comments doesnt allow that. still wishing it's a vr4
the vr4 was made till 2002, the reason your car is a 2003 is because it was made closer to the end of 2002, the normal galant model however is the one that was made till 2005.
Man what I’d give to own a 8th gen Vr4. Sadly it was never sold here in the states and by the time they can be imported they will be way outta my price range since there aren’t to many of them and the ones that are in my price range usually are in poor condition and have major rust issues which Mitsubishi’s are known for having.
i just bought one with "bad rust" but not "critical one" .... and yes restoring will cost money, but almost everything can be repaired... atleast in UK or USA is common to acid-dip cars to remove rust... here in central Europe, noone is doing that ,so i need to "restore it conventionaly".... it will be pain ... but toaly worth it!
Finally someone shows appreciation to the galant
Here's to another underapreciated pice of Japanese Automotive History-The Mitsubishi FTO.
i have a friend who's a big fan of the FTO. i also like the FTO. one of my childhood cars
Mitsubishi rvr hyper gear
Mitsubishi lancer GSR
Mitsubishi Pajero Io turbo
Mitsubishi airtrek turbo
ah yes , the smoller 3000gt . too bad it was just for japan , we just got the eclipse .
As a fresh owner of a manual gpx with 250000 miles on the clock, I agree 100%.
shh dont spoil the secret
I have a legnum vr4 pfl. Makes me so happy to be apart of the small community that appreciates these works of art
Same. Bought mine from Japan last year. Love it.

@@skpro_jects But the Galant VR4 came with the 4G63.
The first generation did, yes. However the later gens came with a V6 2.0 and a 2.5 twin turbo. @@eatsmylifeYT
I own an 8th gen Galant VR4 for over 8 years now and im falling in love with it every time i sit in it :D
1:43 these transitions are so cool

I own 2 galant vr4 6 gen and they are amazing! Great video got me hyped
Great video. I used to own a 1992 Galant VR4 (#509/1000) and I loved that car. Was a sad day when I had to sell it.
I had 1133 but it was a 91
i grew up around all mitsubishi’s i even bought a 3000gt as my first car, the vr4 galant is the only legendary Mitsu i have yet to see..

My dad owns a Mitsubishi Galant, really cool to know the Galant used to dominate in rally racing 🔥🔥🇯🇵❤️

Good video man, I like the way you weave the story in with the information about the car 👍
I love what makes it so great, and I have to add a tree bite to the Honda Prelude, on of my personal favorites.
I've been in a 92 VR-4 owned by a guy in Chicago. Really cool.

I miss my 2 vr4s... unfortunately, the prices are crazy right now. I bought my first one for 1400 and second for 2200.
i just picked up a white galant to have as my daily instead of my hellcat because of the gas prices and i love the little turbo’d thing

Don't forget the wagons I love my Legnum VR4 now 200kw at the wheels
Love my VR4 Legnum
Legnum vr4 type s, 70,000km on the clock, unfortunately had to sell it due to high taxes & fuel costs (too many EU regulations on emissions)

Legacy RS/Liberty RS please , love this type of stuff 👍🇦🇺
I own the 2000 galant type s 4wd. Yeah underrated in Malaysia.
My grandpa owns a vr4 galant too, I hope he would let me inherit it so me and my dad could restore it and drive the car again.
8gen vr4 is one of the prettiest cars ever made in my opinion
Mk7 is still the greatest Ferrari killer for the time. Its still a monster. I genuinely wish I had the money to own one.
LOL. That's my car at the 4:35 minute mark 🙂
You've got a clean 8G my man

Without Galant VR4,lancer evo maybe also not exist.Imagine that.
Suggestion for the next video: Altezza (Lexus IS)
i have 1 of 6 1989 galants in the uk (gls model tho)
What car is on the 1:02 mark?
I found one for dirt cheap and its in bad condition. I'm going for it.
My vr4 is still the baddest street car around. Power traction and exclusivity.
Me over here with 4 Mitsubishi galant vr4s 2 1991s and 2 1992s
If I was in the US I would buy one from you
My ex gf had a vr4 galant on 20s ruining it im glad I got to drive it when I did its the reason I want an evo
