The motec mimicking the stock cluster is so sick, at the first in car clip I didn't even notice it wasn't the stock cluster, love the redone door stickers too - to say it's immaculate is an understatement
@@BlahBleeBlahBlah Yeah that's what caught my eye too, initially I thought it was just a super clean cluster, after I saw the drag runs where the layout was changed I straight up went back to check that it wasn't an old clip lol
Kane, you have come with one of THE nicest sleepers seen here. Everything about this build is simply admirable. There are so many details which set the bar very, very high for anyone going down the "sleeper route" that it beggars belief. Thanks to you and the Fullboost crew for sharing it. Finally, the story behind @11:55 is gold! 🤣
Stuff like this makes me super happy. This dude. Huge respect. These cars from this era, maintaining their spirit but getting a few meticulous and hard earned refinements of modern tech - wonderful stuff.
AMAZING car, perfect for the street ! love all the small details, MOTEC dash as per original, Puma bag hiding the bottle, factory buttons to control, stickers etc, NICE !
What a great build. I have great respect for cars like JUN11 and KING32 but let's be honest they are street registered race cars. This is a true street car for me. Actually usable in the real world. It could be daily driven without getting pulled over by the cops all the time if he wanted. I bet this guy has a lot more fun than Rob and Anthony do with theirs as well simply because he can enjoy it way more often.
DSM and VR-4 guys chasing power in the states have been going almost exclusively auto for going on 10 years now. Kiggly (amongst others) have really shown it to be superior unless you're spending some very serious money on a dog box or a sequential. It's funny, I remember 20 years ago we were all throwing the auto transmissions straight into the garbage if you bought a DSM equipped with one. With that said, this video was a great bit of insight into someone really pushing the legit street car ethos. Kane's dedication shines through in even the smallest details. The Motec dash designed to look identical to the OEM cluster, the updated side decals, the N2O controls using the factory option buttons. This man had a vision and I'd say he realized it in spectacular fashion.
Wow this is such a great build! My favorite part is the digital dash, it's integrated so so so beatifully! I own a '89 galant glsi which I got from my grandad who owned it since '93. It's an awesome car to drive but it obviously isn't nearly as nice as this one. This build is something I'm dreaming of and I hope to have something like it in my garage in the future. Love this build man!!!
My first car was an 89 ls. I was so convinced I would swap a cyclone motor in it but purchased a 240sx. Had a soft spot for dsm's since then. I actually have a lancer ralliart sportback now and want to make that a quick street car.
1st VR4 Galant I was exposed to was at a rally race in Pennsylvania. Was marshalling a tight turn onto a flat wooden bridge (6 inches of water) Car went over the edge onto its roof. Spectators rolled it back onto its wheels under the bridge. Driver had a few cuts, navigator was fine...
90s Japanese is timeless man. I love the aesthetics of that era. Even the bland cars like the Camrys are awesome machines. I drive a 96, its not a hot rod by any means but the sheer simplicity and robust drivetrains are legendary.
Three years ago I was lucky enough to pick up a completely stock VR-4 #1456 for $7500. It had 61k on it and had been extremely well maintained by the original owner who I bought it from. For over 20 years I was a huge Subbie/EJ fanboy and have owned a number of Impreza’s and Legacy’s; from an EJ22 swapped 01 2.5RS to a 99 Impreza L coupe that I stuffed an EZ36 into. However I would be lying if I said I haven’t experienced my fair share of heartbreak from blown synchros and engines to the typical trial and error mistakes that I made from pure inexperience. That being said the 4G63 is absolutely amazing and I’ll never go back to an EJ! I’ve since picked up a 1G GSX that I’ve been building for about 4 months and I’ve been blown away by the amount of power you can make, not only reliably but also relatively cheaply.
His face when the sunroof popped off.. hahahah
I've watched it about 10 times 😂😂

100% the only thing that piqued my curiosity was how nicely illuminated it was. it looks fantastic - one of the best sleeper builds I’ve seen.

The dash cluster seems to get a bit blurry on boost. Something for Motec to have a look at there.
