Finally! New episode of Cockpit Tales but too short :/
+Pilot738 We're sorry to hear this. We will send your feedback to the relevant department.
+KLM Are these simulators just for pilots and can you book flights for the sim?
+Pilot738 Delta has level D sim that is usable by the public in Atlanta GA but iirc is about 300-400 bucks an hour
The music in the video should be made available for download very soon.
+Ujwal Anurag Good to hear you like the music, Ujwal. It's composed by KLM itself. Unfortunately, it's not available for download.
+KLM How I wish it was availabe for it to download. But could you try your best to make it available I really like it.
+KLM it would be so good if it was available to the public, i would pay for it!!
+KLM this music is amazing
+KLM Hi Nate =3
I remember me as a kid watching these videos in the KLM cabin on the entertainment system. Great videos make more cockpit tales videos please :) Anyways best airline! 👍
KLM cockpit tales never fail to be amazing...!!
Nice! Cockpit Tales' back :D
I really like watching all of the episodes, especially during my idle hours. I get to learn more about aviation, answering my questions that I cannot answer before when it comes to aircrafts :)
+Ronnie Gutierrez Welcome on our RUclips channel, Ronnie. We are happy to hear you like our Cockpit Tales series. We hope to see you on board again soon!
Still my favourite RUclips page. I visit this Chanel every week to see if there's new videos. Stay cool KLM
+Robertson TeL We are happy to hear you are returning to our RUclips channel every week, Robertson! Will you be flying with us soon?
+KLM I hope I will
I've learnt a lot from this series! I just love it! :). Keep up the good work KLM!
+Airbus A320 Neo Thanks :-)
Can you make an episode about all of the cockpit instruments and a flight where you use most of them. A different one than to Kilamanjaro.
These videos are amazing and interesting please make more!
+Andres Munevar Thank you, Andres. Keep an eye on our RUclips channel for more!
I love this series so much! nice job KLM! 👍😁
+H.S KIM Good to hear! Did you see the other six Cockpit Tales as well?
+KLM of course I did!
Can't wait for the next video!
+sam Keep an eye on our RUclips channel for more Cockpit Tales, Sam.
Love these videos,. Thanks!
KLM crew are such likeable people
Great job guys. I know it was only a simulator and you probably knew the trainer was going to set the left engine on fire, but you guys really kept your cool. I'm curious if there is any other indication that you have an engine fire? It seems that the orange light is completely out of your sight line and could easily not be seen for quite a while. Was there an alarm sound? Anyway, I love these short videos. I have not been able to fly KLM in many years, though seeing your professionalism in these videos just confirms that your airline is one of the best. Thank you!
KLM Thank you for making these videos this has inspired me to be a pilot once again KLM thank you for making these videos
+Ethan Rhodes You're more than welcome, Ethan :-)
shouldn't the heading hold be selected at runway heading before takeoff anyway?
Awesome! I suggested this as well! Great video!!! :D
+MrKalpol99 Aviation Thank you!
well done klm
+Daniel Surakat Thank you, Daniel :-)
would love to see a video on SIDs and STARs
good video
exelent video
Nice video.
+victor santos Thank you, Victor!
Yay! The next one should be about a decompression and what the crew would do in that instance
+BleuTV Thank you for your suggestion.
Good to know that they are training to combat what caused one of the most iconic aircraft to crash, Concorde and its engine "failure" (that was caused by a metal from another plane and tire punctures)
really nice
I love Cockpit tales! :D
+Antlucl Sweden Good to hear!
THANK YOU KLM!
Best Airline! :) :) :)
Hey bri
FlyingNachosAviation 2138 hey bri

JordanCO_ TV hey bri welcome to the purty
FlyingNachosAviation 2138 where dafrick is da brownies
I would love to fly in a simulator like this one. It looks awesome.
very nice
very good.
Klm flights to chile? If it goes pls show us !
Now do a no engines take off.
Gliders
How many different types of aircraft does KLM have
Awesome!!
what is the music?
An episode concerning an emergency landing, maybe done in the simulator.
You should do a video of how to deal with strong turbulence.
+Federico Pepe Thank you for your feedback, Federico.
+KLM no problem!
Hey KLM Can you make a behind the scenes video?
+Daniel Baird Thank you for the idea, Daniel. We appreciate your feedback!
can you make an episode on how to maneuver around a busy airport with high traffic on the ground?
+Jelo Feliciano +KLM maybe somewhere like JFK or LAX
+Jelo Feliciano Thank you for your suggestion, Jelo!
I'm curious - do pilots know in advance what kind of situation they get in the simulator?
No
I can wait to join KLM
+dylan dubero That would be nice, Dylan. Any plans to fly with us soon?
+KLM yes it's my dream I love KLM more than any orther airline
Are these simulators available to public?
I think it just exclusive for KLM hired pilots and trainees.
I also just love this music , if anyone finds out that you can get this .Please leave me a message would be great full . Thanks .
can you make full flight videos. not the hole flight but the highlights, so the video is like 10 min long or something like that.
+FlyMexx We appreciate your feedback.
Klm user are u a pilot .? Cuz I'd like to ask u some questions
super cool✈
+Wessel Boon Thank you for the compliment, Wessel :-)
+KLM ✈
KLM my dreams MY FAVORITE AIRLINE!😁
Do the pilots restart the engine after the fire has been put out? Or would that be too much of a risk as they wouldn't know the immediate cause?
When they extinguish the fire, you can't restart it due too the actual extinguisher fluid in the engine.
Interesting.... Ok thanks for the answer :)
Devsack No problem.
Cabine dépressurisation ? ( french )
Its good to see that but do KLM pilots go thru that after being hired by KLM?
Yes
+Félix Maltchinski Yes, every commercial pilot has to pass a recurrent training twice a year. This includes all kinds of major and minor malfunctions, always including engine failures and/or fires at critical times such as take off or during a discontinued approach (go around). We also have to perform landings with 1 or (on aircraft with 4 engines) 2 engines out.
Hope it answers your question ;) the simulator training and checking are some of the most valuable training any pilot receives.
want to seen more
+Laurens Waasdorp We have six other Cockpit Tales videos, Laurens. You can watch them via klmf.ly/1GYKuwI.
KLM - friendly recommendation - name the song something like "Liftoff freedom" (if it doesn't already have a cool name!) and put it out there on iTunes and I'll buy it! =)
Congrats to the composer, I'm a live audio guy and this music sounds awesome on my home stereo's new subwoofer =) kudos to the composer!!
let me know =) (or at least let us know the credits of whom created it?)
ik vind het zo mooi
how to come back from a stall or how to land with 1 or 0 engines
Recovering from stall is taught from the very start of pilots training. Full power and gently nose down to increase airspeed. After air speed is normal and stall recovered, pilot can pull nose level again. If plane wants to spin (stall one wing), opposite rudder can be used to keep wings level.
Outstanding vid. By the way.....how much for a 747 simulator?.....I'd love to put one in my basement. ;)
+turbofanlover It's unfortunately really expensive! Maybe you can find something for your basement here klmf.ly/1AtE8kW ;-)
Great video, but shouldn't a mayday be declared in case of an ENG 1 fire on a 77W? A380s have 4 engines so if one fails it isn't a problem, but the 77s have only 2 engines
I think so too!
And in all the others youtube videos which show an engine fire the pilots inform the ATC with ,,Mayday''
Normaly yes, but at schiphol the procudre is to give 3x a pan pan call.
Mayday is only used if you are in immediate danger of crashing and need help from the emergency services life fire, police, and ambulances.Pan is used when you have an emergency and are still in firm control of the aircraft but need priority help from air traffic controllers.
+MrFlyboy1313 no, mayday is used if there's a serious problem on board and lives are at question, and engine fire is classed as serious. Pan Pan is used if there's a problem but no lives are at risk e.g weather radar failure.
Let's get one thing clear, KLM serve the most delicious biscuits ❤
Nice
very nice :) !!!
+SKBenergy Thanks!
I want to be cabin crew of KLM!! What shoud I do?
+SuJi Moon You can find more information about working in the air via klmf.ly/ZJVuJS, Suji.
+KLM Thanks a lot
+SuJi Moon no, but you have to speak dutch
love it
+Joseph C Thank you for the compliment, Joseph :-)
how much would one of the simulators cost
The simulators are for pilots to train not for the public sorry.
$15,000,000 to buy one.
You should try the new website called Google.com
Thanks guys guess few of youll was wrong finaly got my simulator snoop sogg its not only for pilots and eelsplayer55 its not $15.000.000 its #3.600.000
Hey its snoop sogg, yeah you sure did your research, psst btw, about the simulators, i though you mean those KLM simulators.
I want to become a KLM pilot Cardiff to Amsterdam :)
No turning back after V1!!!
background music?
+David Schaap The music is composed by KLM itself, David. Do you like it?
***** yeah! and awesome video! I'm flying in the summer with you guys! :D (to florence btw)
2:30 is not enough KLM for me :D great airline honestly
Cool
I like KLM
Most if not all planes are designed to be able to fly on half of their engines the exception is old prop planes who get their lift from their engines but otherwise they should be fine
Any airplane is designed so that it can fly without engines, that's what the wings are for. Without engines any plane will start gliding (flying but losing altitude).
halon?????
demonstration of flight controls and how b747 actually flies..
cool men
+Luc Wehbe Veiligheid is altijd onze eerste prioriteit, Luc.
this song
KLM What if the 2 engines failed in high altitudes ? explain pls
+Mohammed Fawaz Crash, simply as that
If you are lucky enough to lose both engines at a higher altitude instead of low,you basically put the nose slightly down to maintain lift and a controlled decent just like a glider does until you can find a clear field or highway to make an emergency landing on if you don't have enough forward velocity to make it to an airport runway. They train for these emergency scenarios everyday in the simulator.
+MrFlyboy1313 It would be great to have like 200 parachutes attached to the plane, so if you lose both engines you deploy the parachutes and it lands the plane.
+Mohammed Fawaz Well that happened with Air Canada, watch air crash investigation 'Gimli Glider'.
+krutomjer Lol that's not a bad idea. I can totally see that
Very poor redundancy on two engines I would rather pay more for three or four but sadly the general public would not and we are where we are.
Two engines is fine. Having both engines fail is *extremely* rare. They are very reliable so it's as safe as having four, except that they make a lot less noise and pollute less. If you want to find out more about this, look "ETOPS" up on Google.
huh only a 'Pan Pan' for an engine out in the EU? that would be a Mayday call in the US
in the US Pan Pan isnt the same as declaring an emergency
for the us Pan Pan would for for some thing like your lost or low on fuel or relaying another aircraft's emergency
as it is called music
yeah 1 engine might not be a problem but when you lost both engines...
+rcxz123 Yes, that would be a problem - however, with today's engines, that are extremely reliable, both of them failing at the same time is an infinitesimal possibility - the Hudson River Ditching was caused by an extreme unfortunate conincidence - a flock of travelling geese right the flight path, but luckily, they had an extremely well-trained captain.
So, I think it is more likely to win the jackpot in the lottery than to find oneself in a plane where both engines failed on T/O. And generally spoken losing both engines is not automatically a death sentence: look up Air Canada Flight 143, Air Transat Flight 236, and above mentioned US Airways Flight 1549.
+Courier6 Yeah i know its a extreme rare situation. Nowdays an aircraft accident is very rare thing to happend too. Soo everybody need to seat and relax the flight hahah. The pilot trainning are soo hard by the way.
I know. That's why I don't measure up to the requirements, and further, the job situation for new ATPL-pilots isn't good at the moment. But aerospace engineering is a very good subsitute and probably better for one's personal life and relationships.
And yes, lean back and enjoy the flight ;D
+Courier6 Also a dual engine fire is even less unlikely than having just a dual engine failiure
Well not everyone knows how to use a parachute, if they did it incorrectly it could be fatal. even as simple as using oxygen mask passengers on SW1380 didn't put it properly (that's why listen to the safety briefing), and parachute can only be used by professionals. so parachute is not a good idea. By the way there's a video (simulator) simulating dual engine fail on cruise on a 777.
Saudia: Engine Failure? We can divert!
KLM:?
Did KLM buy A350 Planed
Planes
They placed orders, yes, but they havent arrived/build yet
+MikaelHD You can learn more via klmf.ly/1hTgXIU, Mikael ;-)
+KLM oh maii KLM answered
the story is different in real life
777 is a nice aircraft.
+victor santos We agree, Victor!
I saw my late
Pan Pan = 1step before mayday
