  • If you try playing a free bass accordion as a Stradella accordionist, you may suddenly face the problem of having to read the treble and bass clefs simultaneously. That's why I would recommend that beginners on the free bass or converter accordion start by playing slow and simply structured pieces with a bass that runs as smoothly as possible. Church chorales are ideal for this because they can easily divided into learning sections and sound good, even when played very slowly (The musical peculiarities of this music can also be enjoyed as an atheist). Notated in slow e.g. 3/2, 4/4 or 6/4 meter, they offer great practice material that is completely sufficient for the first year in connection with scale exercises for a worthwhile excursion into the world of free bass. Enjoy!
