You can tell that Mike genuinely likes Stevo and Stevo genuinely likes Mike. I’ve watched a lot of interviews with Mike and I’ve never seen him smile and interact with anybody like he did with Stevo before. I’m sure spending some time in a Psych ward together really made them pretty close, being with each other at their lowest definitively made them friends for life.

Steve O was kind of awkward being sober for a couple of years. But he seems naturally crazy now without the help of drugs, which is awesome!

Every true addict is like that in early recovery, especially the ones coming from long term addiction. Giving up drugs is like a loved one dying or a relationship breaking up, you have to go through the grieving process before you fully thaw out. The serotonin levels need to be raised again

Not to mention unlike most other people going through something like that, they have a crap ton of video footage that after they lived it they also saw what everyone else saw at the time of whatever embarrassing situation took place while they were all fucked up. I'm sure if you could go back and see how you acted each time or every day you were trashed, that would definitely help you not want to go back to something like that.
