It’s been a long time since I lived in Arizona but when I did I used to love exploring like you’re doing now. Thanks to you I can relive some of those “good old days“ probably the best days of my life.
That’s so cool to hear. There are so many great places to see and lessons to learn from exploring. I’m glad to help keep some of those memories alive. Thank you for watching!
I currently live north of Chino Valley AZ. I'm not excited about camping in the snow after living in Alaska for 37 years. Love the videos!!! Thank you...
You may want to edit your PV War bingo card. Apache County Sheriff Commodore Perry Owens wasn't a victim of the war. He died in 1919 in Seligman at 67. Cool video, definitely.
Thank you so much for watching! I just checked out of curiosity and the Forest service website says it is still open, but to call for conditions. I'm sure it will be closed soon enough though.
Just passed through this area while on my journey border to border (MX-CA) via all BDRs beautiful area I actually about ran out of gas between globe and flagstaff!! Good video, you remind me I need to stop and check out stuff when I pass through places!
I loved this episode. As a Colorado hiker i have camped in snow so I love that this was unique for you. Do you run a drone while you drive? No experience with drones myself but this seems a challenge. I like the aerial views. I'm going to challenge myself to drive at least part of FS300. Not that far from me but far enough to be new views. Love this episode.
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the snow. I do operate the drone while on the road, albeit very carefully. I always do it in remote areas when conditions allow for it. Through a lot of practice and patience I've gotten much better at it. I have a Q&A video coming out tomorrow where I answer this in a little bit more depth. Thanks again!
I primarily use Google Earth for planning and a combination of paper maps & the free version of Gaia when out on the trail. I have a Q&A video coming out tomorrow morning where I answer this in a little more depth. I hope that helps. Thanks!
The museum in Young is only open on Saturdays during the summer but if you call anytime during the year someone can come open it up for you. The phone number to call is on the front door.
LOL, That weather would be a big fat NO for me. But I grew up in Chicago and hate the snow and cold. Looks like that place would be nice to visit in July. Thanks for the video :)
The best kind of snow is the snow you drive to for a visit! May-October would probably be primetime to explore this entire route, especially the higher elevation portions. Thank you for watching!

GLAD TO SEE YOU ARMED -- ALWAYS FUN TIMES HERE IN ARIZONA !

Excellent presentation. Beautiful scenic tour of a great area of Arizona. Interesting history too. Thanks.
Super job with this FR300 is one of my favorites. It will most likely be closing soon with the threat of snow coming.

Moving to Arizona made me learn to love snow. Now I share your excitement every time it happens here in Tucson 😂
So true! The best kind of snow is snow you visit. It certainly is special when it does happen. 😄

Hey Scotty, which mapping apps do you use to plan your trips and navigate on the trail?

Would this mostly all be fairly easy with no technical parts?
