Didn't get a notification for this. Just finally saw your latest episode in my feed so I went back to the start to begin binge watching. Love your shows. Great job on the historical information and narration. Keep it up. Sharing the seiries. We need to get your numbers up. You are great.
Thank you for proactively going back to watch all the episodes! Sometimes the RUclips algorithm can be goofy distributing the video. This has been my most watched series so far so it is growing -- slowly but surely. Thanks for your help!
This is seriously my new favorite ZJ channel. Just bought my first one last week getting a new pcm to put in today. So excited! Channels like yours truly show that you don’t need a ton of money or brand new jeeps to have fun. Keep them comin!
Great video man, all 'round. I enjoyed it. Just a little note on that battle: The south side where the plaques are is actually the area where the battle was initiated by the cavalry scouts. The battle took place on the other side of East Clear Creek, or the "Big Dry Wash", to the north where the Apache had their camp and were planning their ambush. Rifle fire was established at the plaques site area that allowed the cavalry to maneuver, crossing the wash below and up the other side on both flanks, to encircle the Apache. That is why this battle was considered a perfect execution of encirclement. Chaffee was actually given command by his superior because he was already on scene when he arrived, and the battle started. It's really interesting, the whole lead up to the battle, during, and after - they found bodies of those Apache that had scattered a distance away in crevasses and caves all around, even well after the battle. Don't think to find much of anything looking around. There isn't much to see and nothing identifiable like a bulwark. It's been gone over by ranchers for a century, and metal detectors in the past decade. The latest of which I accompanied on a tour of the site a few years back. He had walked the whole area and recorded each bullet found and its location, identified it, and the rifle used. That's how we know exactly where the the movements were and the main locations like the Apache camp and pony herd were located. I only mention all this for anyone who deep dived this battle, like I did. There is surprisingly detailed info in the official Army battle report from individuals that participated, tho avoid Tom Horns account he wasn't even there. If you want to know more start with the Battle of Cibecue.
Thank you so much for this info, Mike! What great additional insight to have on the battle that took place there. I mention your comment in a Q&A video that will be released tomorrow morning. I appreciate the time and your contribution to the content. It's interactions like this that allow RUclips to be such a positive place. Thanks again for watching!
Very good. I have all the first printing books written by the soldiers that were there fighting and yes forget Tom Horn as he did not participate and very often lied to promote himself.
Great video. I just ran the Mogollon rim recently myself. It's epic. I did not, however, realize how much history there is along the rim. And that is why I enjoy your channel. 🤠👍🏻
Thank you as always for watching! I'm sure I missed a few things but there is so much to check out. You did the trip on a bike right? I'll have to check out your video when I get a chance.
@azoffroad_net I did run it on my bike. Gas prices being what they are I decided to give the adventure bike a try. To be honest, I think I enjoy it more than driving my Jeep. 🤠
This filmed near the end of the season right before Rim Road gets snowed out and shut down. If you were to go more towards June or July the weather would be far more mild.
Another great video. I had heard about that abandoned railroad tunnel, but wasn't sure where it was. Sounds like a reason to go on an adventure! Great series and I look forward to more. I really like your historic narration about the area your traveling. It really helps understand the history of those areas. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the kind words and feedback! I appreciate you watching all my stuff. The railroad tunnel (as well as everything else around here) is certainly worth the adventure. So much history to explore!
Thanks! And that's awesome. So far my jeep has never left me stranded. I have broken the rear track bar a few times and a goofy crank-position sensor has left me nearly stranded, but aside from some routine maintenance and a few upgrades, the Jeep still get's me out and back on all my adventures!
Love your content Scotty, especially the travel series. Az has an amazing history! Like the other commenter stated I would love to join if you ever put together a group run!
Thank you so much for watching all my stuff! I appreciate it. Truly so much to see here in AZ, we are very fortunate. I've done a couple of "trial" group runs in the last few months. I'll let you know for sure when I plan something. Would you be more interested in a daytrip or overnight run?
👍👍👍
Good to see you back at it!
Thank you! Always great to be back out exploring.

same here, no notifications. I got some catching up to do!

I'm so happy for new content 👊
I appreciate you as always for watching! 🤘🏻
@azoffroad_net I can't believe how many hours I spend watching others camp 😆
The camera shot at 28:35 is beautiful. Thanks for taking me on a journey.
I appreciate you watching and joining the adventure!
Another great video. I did this back in 1983.
Great job, looking forward to the next chapter
Thank you for watching this one!
Rim Road trail has been one of my bucket list jeep trails for awhile now. Great video with excellent views. Thanks for sharing.
It is absolutely worth it! Especially if you have the time to explore and camp a little bit along the way. Thank you for watching!

Superb video!!
Thank you!
Thank you for another great video.
I appreciate you watching!
This is my "go to" route at least 2x a year. I camp up near 87 quite frequently. The winery in Young is worth a visit for sure.
I can see why. This is such a beautiful area! And good to know about the winery in Young for next time -- thanks!

Did the Rim run last Memorial Day. Doing White Mts this Labor Day weekend. Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for watching! And awesome to hear. How was your trip to the White Mountains?
I love, love, love your posts. I'm fulfilling my wanderlust vicariously through your videos.
Thank you so much for watching! I love to hear that you can experience some of the adventure and wanderlust that keeps me going. Take care.
Great video Scotty...you ever gonna do group runs?
Thank you Joe! I've done a couple small "trial" group runs in the last few months. Would you be more interested in a daytrip or overnight run?
Awesome view, but I couldn't handle that cold weather

This was an excellent journey. Thank you for putting everything into context, explaining the features you saw, and showing a map. Well done, Hoss!
Thanks for the video. We did Rim Rd on Labor Day and did the side trails, we even found your overnight spot which was super cool.
Thanks for watching! Cool that you were able to do the trails and find the spot. It's a good one for sure!
Scotty - be sure to add this trip to your playlist. I may have missed it.
I just got that fixed. Thank you for pointing that out!
Thanks for another awesome video full of valuable information. Arizona sure has a lot of history🤙🏼
I appreciate the kind words. Thank you for watching! So much to see here.
Fantastic video, great content. I’ve been wanting to do a 300 trip for quite awhile. Looking forward to the rest of the story. Thank you.
Thank you so much, Eric! I appreciate you watching!
How about a quick beer review.😊
Hop city! I'll try and incorporate some more tasting notes in the future. Thanks for watching!
@@azoffroad_net YAY! I'd recommend Tucson's Pueblo Vida, Blackrock Brewers and Barrio Brewery!
Great video as always. Can't wait for the rest. May I ask roughly when this trip occured?
Thanks Stuart! This was filmed in early November last year, 2022. These are definitely not current conditions. It took a bit to edit.
Awesome channel, very well done. Love to tag along one day.
We camped at the Battle of Big Dry Wash site once. Nice trail down to the creek/reservoir. Great fishing...
That sounds nice. The area around there is really great!
Sick jeep Scotty! I also have ZJ mines a 95 with the 318 in it, have you had any mechanical failures with this platform while out camping?
Thanks! And that's awesome. So far my jeep has never left me stranded. I have broken the rear track bar a few times and a goofy crank-position sensor has left me nearly stranded, but aside from some routine maintenance and a few upgrades, the Jeep still get's me out and back on all my adventures!
So pumped!
Thanks Daniel!

@@azoffroad_net I’d be interested in either. I just got a RTT for the Tacoma and would love to learn about Truck/Vehicle based camping.
FR300 is an awesome run. A very close 2nd in scenery compared to the Grand Canyon.
Agreed. This is a very special part of Arizona!
